Pain Relief Overview

An analgesic drug, also called simply an analgesic, antalgic, pain reliever, or painkiller, is any member of the group of drugs used for pain management. Analgesics are conceptually distinct from anesthetics, which temporarily reduce, and in some instances eliminate, sensation, although analgesia and anesthesia are neurophysiologically overlapping and thus various drugs have both analgesic and anesthetic effects. MORPHINE SULF ER by RHODES

I have been getting my morphine from CVS for over 5 yrs. They will only get Rhodes mfg. generic. These pills are so bad some times my nose runs, I am in a with draw state. Every month its the same some thing. It seems like sometimes they have the right amount of morphine in them while most times Its as though I am taking nothing. Anyone else out there with this problem? I think some of these pills are bootleg. No way to prove it and CVS does not seem to care. ## Have you tried asking them if they can order in the ones made by a different manufacturer for you? They usually can, but you'll have to pay any price difference between it and the existing generic, because your insurance usually won't. Another alternative would be speaking to your doctor about trying a different medicati...

drug name dorvasal

small & round, orange ## My mother has been suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis for last 10 years. We found out about Dorvasal from an RA forum. An RA doctor in Mexico prescribed Dorvasal for my mother. She took it thrice a day with analgesics for 4 years and we saw good results with her mobility and pain control. However lately she is complaining of dizziness, spinning motion in head, mouth ulcers, itchy skin and skin rashes, insomnia. We abruptly stopped Dorvasal because of these side effects and now her condition has really deteriorated. She is bed ridden now. Does this drug contain any steroids? Also we are not sure if the side effects were because of Dorvasal or the analgesic pain killer (Tramadol Hydrochloride) she has been taking. (She also has hypertension and high blood pre...

cincinnati pain clinic

Hi, all, I just moved to Covington, KY from. Brooklyn, NY. I am taking Nucynta ER 150 mg/3 x a day, lyrica, celexa, Xanax 2 mg/3 x a day and a muscle relaxant. The main issues are the Nucynta and Xanax. I have had doctor after doctor laugh in my face when asking for this prescription. I started Xanax five years ago and Nucynta about a year ago. No one wants to prescribe Nucynta, either. I have tried Vicodin, oxy--everything. But finally found that Nucynta (a drug I paid $1500 for WITH insurance in NY) works for me. (I am a full time children's book author who spends 12 hours a day on the computer.) I am not an addict and will willingly comply to all drug panels. Can anyone recommend a psychiatrist in or near Cincinnati as well as a pain management doctor or clinic? Thank you, all, i...

Camber Generic Norco 10-325

Is Camber Norco 10-325 any good? ## Hello, Kim! How are you? We are all different, so it works well for some, and not as well for others. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Ref: Medline Plus Hydrocodone Combination Medications Can anyone who's actually tried this one chime in with their experience? ## I’ve tried them when my pharmacy had them recently and I have never seen them before or heard of them either. I found that the Camber worked well for my pain. Everyone is different but I am taking these to control severe pain. I have unfortunately tried many generics too because Pharmacies never stay using the same generic Controlled medication be...

Difference between Oxycodone HCL & IR?

I know the oxycodone HCL has some sort of salt in it and it’s just regular oxycodone. And I understand the IR is immediate release. Then they have extended release. But is the oxycodone HCL an extended or an immediate release?? Thank you! ## Oxycodone HCl just means the basic drug - the HCl is a salt that helps it dissolve. It does not tell you if it’s fast-acting or long-acting. - IR means immediate release (works quickly). - ER/XR means extended release (released slowly over hours). So, Oxycodone HCl can be either IR or ER. If your bottle doesn’t say ER/XR, it’s almost always the immediate-release kind. If you'd like, share the NDC code that's on your prescription, and I can look up the leaflet from the manufacturer just to make sure. ## Thank you! Very...
