## I NEED INFO ON WHAT THIS DRUG IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR ## Yea, that's a narc. ## My kid found a pink pill with westward 235 in my house on it..please let me know what this is..could it be a derivitive of darvon? ## Based on the description provided, I found your pill to be Propoxyphene HCl (65 mg). You can view a detailed description of the drug, by clicking on the link below... If you have any more questions or comments to add, please post back so I can further assist you. ## This pill has been taken off the market in Europe and United States. Wherever this pill comes from, it is illegally made and could kill your child. You make that kid tell you where he got it from and you turn it into the cops or otherwise they're going to be a lot of dead people od'ing on this sev...

Any info about the Darvon lawsuit? I took it for 30+ years with great pain relief. I cannot take narcotics that contain NSAIDs, so I'm now limited to Dilaudid, Morphine, Oxy-Contin, etc. I would much prefer to take Darvon, a drug in it's own class, even though I did suffer two strokes that could be related. ## I know there are lawsuits out there over the medications that contain Propoxyphene, but that is not why they were removed from the market and thus, it is highly unlikely that they will ever return to the market for us. The reason they were removed from the market is because the Propoxyphene and its relatives were found to be cardiotoxic, they caused a very real risk of cardiac problems, in some of the people that were using them. As to narcotics that contain NSAIDs, are yo...

how long will darvon tablets keep? ## Hello, Skoshilady! How are you? Darvon is not safe to take and the best thing to do would be to dispose of it. All medications containing Propoxyphene were removed from the market several years ago, due to the risk they caused of cardiac dangers, as well as an inordinate number of overdose deaths. It's a dangerous medication to take. The FDA lists this as having been a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have to laugh. Everyone hated Darvon. The minute its no longer available everyone wants them. Kinda of like proabition in the 1920's

I am new and not sure if this is the right place to ask but I am very concerned at the moment. I found pills in my son's room and have searched and searched but cannot identify them. I have asked around and I have been directed here by some recommendations. They must be old pills or something. Where he got them I don't know yet. One says "lilly 05" and the other is just a half pink half peach colored capsule that says "pfizer 50" twice. Also, since when did Dow make pills? I have asked pharmacists and they say they don't know. Any help is appreciated. ## Damn, it's still a mystery. I have no idea where else to look. Any advice? ## Hi catofthecanals. After reading your post, I've been diligently searching for a match to your pills, but have also come b...

I am a long term chronic pain patient, due to complications from surgeries pregormed to try to correct a disabilitating, painful, congenital back deformity. Each surgey failed to relieve my pain. I am also very sensative to medications and am unable to take anything with acetomenophen. I did get good relief with NSAIDS, but had GI complications and cannot take those either. I am very intolerant of opiates because of the side effects, nausea, etc. I also cannot stand the, "high" that usually causes people to increase their meds, as they become more tolerant. After exhaustive evaluation at a pain clinic, a combination that helped my pain and I was able to tolerate, was finally discovered. It consisted of low dose MS Contin every 8 hours, plain Darvon 65 for breakthrough pain and l...

I am 73 and have been on pain meds for about 50yrs now. First Darvon, then Darvocet and then Hydrocodone 10/325. Never had trouble until about a year ago. It seems different manufacturers have different amounts of hydrocodone. I get the most relief from Qualitest. Less from Amneal, etc. Now the Pharmacy has given me Tris. My concern is does the FDA allow for a variance between generic brands? ## Yes, unfortunately, under the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984, they are allowed to differ in the amount of the active ingredient(s), by as much as plus or minus 20% from the name brand. This was enacted to try to get generics to market faster, and create more market competition to help keep prices down. Unfortunately, generic manufacturers do not have to measure against each other, only against the nam...

My sister took a 65mg Darvon little pink capsule. She was frantic with pain from a toothache. I am stressed.. it was from 2010.. Is it ok..? She seems fine, but I know they are discontinued! ## Did she suffer any adverse effects? She will most likely be okay, but should make sure to inform her doctor that she took it. They were pulled from the market due to the fact that they were found to cause a high risk of cardiac dangers, as well as an inordinate number of overdose deaths. However, the cardiac problems usually only occurred while someone was taking it and they resolved upon discontinuation. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipat...

Is the darvoset a run off darvons cause my mom turned into the hulk when she took them in the 70's ? I like. Percocettes the don't mess with my stomach. ## Darvocet and Darvon both contained the mild narcotic Propoxyphene, which has been removed from the market due to the risk it caused of cardiotoxicity. Percocet contains Acetaminophen and Oxycodone, it is must stronger and still available via prescription. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

dark orange oblong 5112 with a v on it...? ## what is it? ## Darvon 100 ## This is actually Darvocet N100, it contains 650mgs of Acetaminophen and 100mgs of Propoxyphene. This is a narcotic pain reliever. The difference between this and Darvon is that the Darvon only contains Propoxyphene, not the Acetaminophen. Some of the most common side effects include: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

do you make it yet. ## Well this site is not a drug manufacturing company, we are a support website for people who need drug or pill information. That said, if you are in the US then Darvon compound is available. However, I am not sure for how long, the Propoxyphene in it is a very mild pain reliever at best and it is a cardio toxic agent, so they are trying to remove it from the US market. Darvon Compound
