Old Medications
UpdatedMy sister took a 65mg Darvon little pink capsule. She was frantic with pain from a toothache. I am stressed.. it was from 2010.. Is it ok..? She seems fine, but I know they are discontinued!

Did she suffer any adverse effects?
She will most likely be okay, but should make sure to inform her doctor that she took it. They were pulled from the market due to the fact that they were found to cause a high risk of cardiac dangers, as well as an inordinate number of overdose deaths.
However, the cardiac problems usually only occurred while someone was taking it and they resolved upon discontinuation.
The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
Is there anything else I can help with?
