Found a large, oblong, hot pink pill, the number 890 is on one side and 93 is one the other. What is this, please? ## what is this drug, and what is the use? ## wasthb ## I found a large oval white pill with the number 537 on one side and 93 on the other. What is it ## Hello, everyone! How are you all doing? The tablet with the 93 890 marking contained 100mgs of Propoxyphene and 650mgs of Acetaminophen, it was a generic for Darvocet. You can see here in these details, that it was discontinued in 2010 due to the risk of overdose it caused, and the fact that it could cause cardiac dangers, so the risks were found to outweigh any possible benefits it might provide. It was very mild in its pain relieving effects, anyway, so it didn't help a lot of people. Are there any other questions?

Pink oval shaped pill with a256 printed on one side and nothing on the other ## This tablet contained 100mgs Propoxyphene and 650mgs of Acetaminophen, it was a generic for Darvocet. The FDA has since removed this medication from the market due to the high risk of overdose fatalities, as well as cardiac dangers. It also carried the risk of being habit forming. Which pharmacies will mail propoxyphene 65 (Darvon) to the U.S.? This med is the best for neuropathic pain, and I am able to keep a clear mind, unlike other meds which make me feel drugged. This mild med is perfect for me and doesn't make me throw up like other pain meds. This med was VOLUNTARILY taken off the market in the US, not actually banned. It is not illegal to possess in the United States. I use the kind without acetaminophen to keep any liver damage away. I'm almost out and need to get some more of this med. Please help. ## Propoxyphene and its relatives were removed from the market in the U.S. due to the fact that they can cause cardiac toxicity, so they were deemed unsafe to use. And, since it is also a narcotic, possession of it in the U.S., without a valid doctor...

I have a severe tooth ache that came on Friday night during our campout. Just got home Sunday morning and it is getting so bad I can't sleep. I found a bottle of propoxy n apap 100 650 tab medicine that was prescribed in 09. It says to discard after 7/28/09. I am desperate for some relief. Is it unsafe? My dentist won't be in until tomorrow. ## Hello, Nola! How are you feeling? I am very sorry about the toothache. No, this medication is not safe to take. All drugs containing Propoxyphene and its relatives were removed from the market several years ago, because it was found to be cardiotoxic and many people suffered adverse events, some of which were fatal. This is one that you really need to just toss out. If the pain is severe, you can go to your nearest ER and they should be a...

Has PROPOXYPHENE-N 100 W/ APAP 650 TABS been pulled by the FDA? ## Hello, Bob! How are you? Yes, all medications containing Propoxyphene and it's immediate relative drugs have been removed from the U.S. market. They've been shown to cause cardiac toxicity and also resulted in many fatal overdoses. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Propoxyphene is no longer sold in India or anywhere for that matter, as it has been proven to cause heart problems. Darvon/Darvocet is manufactured in India by a number of major pharmaceutical companies there. It's formula includes Paracetemol which is equivalent to acetaminophen, but more potent as an analgesic and less toxic, and also includes in the new formula, tramadol, also a pain reliever. It is manufactured to exactly resemble the same capsule that previously was sold as Darvon, and is very popularly sold and seems more effective. ## I'm sorry, but that is incorrect, there is no difference between Paracetamol and Acetaminophen, they are exactly the same. And the formations that contain Tramadol are not called Darvon or Darvocet, they are Ultram and Ultracet. This is a na...

I have this pink pill with m on one side and 1772 on the other side. Will it kill me if I take this for my pain? ## You should never take any prescription medication, without your doctors approval. This tablet contains 100mgs of Propoxyphene and 650mgs of Acetaminophen, which has been removed from the market due to the fact that it was found to be cardiotoxic. Thus no, you should not take it. If you require a pain reliever, please consult your doctor for something safe and appropriate for you. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. my husband eat proxyvon 10 to 15 proxyvon capsules daily,i am very afraid what will happen in futre ,so tell me the side effect of eating this. ## From my records Propoxyphene is the active ingredient in Proxyvon, which is a pain control aid. An overdose of dextropropoxyphene may lead to various systemic effects. Excessive opioid receptor stimulation is responsible for the CNS depression, respiratory depression, miosis, and gastrointestinal effects seen in propoxyphene poisoning. I would speak with his doctor right away. He could really hurt himself by taking 10 to 15 pills per day. To learn more about this drug click on the link below... I found this pill in a forclosed home it is a pink capsule with a R in side of a diamond an 4382 on it and cvs, walgreens, an poison control have no listing for it can u help ## Hi christopher, My research leads me to believe that the pill may be Propoxyphene Hydrochloride (65mg) manufactured by TEVA. Propoxyphene, also referred to as Dextropropoxyphene, is in the drug classes analgesics and Opioids. It is indicated for the treatment mild pain and also has antitussive and local anaesthetic effects. You said cvs/walgreens was on the pill though? If that's correct, then it's possibly an OTC medication or cvs/walgreens is where the owner of the pill had his/her prescription filled. I recommend that you safely dispose of it if you can't return it to it's owner. Do you have a...

## this is a form of darvact used for mild pain ## What does this pill look like? ## they are oval white or pink, some say mylan on one side ## For anyone else seeking information on this medication, or any that contained Propoxyphene and its relatives, I'd like to let you know that they are no longer available. Due to the fact that they were found to cause very dangerous cardiac risks, as well as an inordinate number of overdose fatalities, they have been pulled from the market in the U.S., Canada and most other countries. You can learn more Darvocet details here. Are there any questions or comments? Is there anything I can help with?
