pink capsule ## This is generic 65mg propoxyphene. The brand name is Darvon-N or Darvon-R depending on which one you have. It is a narcotic used for moderate to severe pain. It can cause euphoria, constipation, dizziness, drowsiness, blurred vision and has a potential to be addictive. ## I'd like to add some updated information… As of 2007, Propoxyphene and its relatives have all been removed from the market in the U.S., Canada and most other countries due to the extreme risk they caused of cardiac dangers, as well as an inordinate number of overdose deaths. You can learn more Darvocet details here. Are there any questions or comments?

can i take Propoxyphen Apap 100 650 Mgtev after having my wisdom teeth removed? and is it ok to take with pennicillin ## Looking back at this one now, the original question is no longer relevant and I will explain why for anyone else searching for details. As of November of 2010, the FDA had all products containing Propoxyphene and its relatives removed from the market, due to the high risk they caused of cardiac dangers and an inordinate number of overdose fatalities. You can learn more Darvocet details here. If you are in a country that still uses this as an analgesic, then I can only advise you to check with your doctor or pharmacist, before taking it with other medications, since the interaction details are not regularly updated in the available resources in the U.S. anymore, which ...

5114V PILLPINK ## Yes this is propoxyphene 100mg and acetaminophen 650mg otherwise known as propoxyphene napsylate or brand name darvocet-n 100. It is used for mild to moderate pain and can be addictive. Side effects include dizziness, euphoria, tiredness. ## I wanted to add some updated information to this page for other site visitors. Since this post was made, Propoxyphene and its relatives were all pulled from the U.S. market due to the high risk it was found to cause of cardiac dangers in some people that were taking it. Since it was just a very mild narcotic pain reliever, the FDA deemed that its risks far outweighed its benefits. I know it worked well for some people and there are those that wonder why they can no longer have it prescribed, or how to find it, which is why I wanted...

white tablets ## I can't provide any specifics about the tablet that was asked about, since no details were provided on the markings. However, just to add some updated information to this post, any and all medications that contained Propoxyphene or its relatives have now been pulled from the U.S. market due to extreme safety concerns over the cardiac dangers they were found to cause in some people. Unfortunately, though being a very mild narcotic, it did work very well for some people, who have now been left in the lurch and aren't sure what will help their pain. I'm in pain management. I recently took a pre employment drug test. It came back for Propoxyphene. I take Hydrocodone. I was also stung by yellow jackets 2 days before the test and was given a shot of benadryl at the hospital. I do not take propoxyphene. But it showed up on a 10 panel split test from Medtox. Can anyone tell me why? ## From an outside perspective I can see why Hydrocodone may have been the cause for the false-positive. Reason being is that Propoxyphene is an analgesic in the opioid category; as is Hydrocodone. Unfortunately, the standard tests typically used for screenings lack the sensitivity to distinguish beyond the basic structures of the drug class vs. the drug name. This is where the issue lies. When it comes to Benadryl (Diphenhydramine); this particular drug ...

I got them in 11-13-09 r they still good ## If they are in a pharmacy dispensed bottle which exposes them to the elements, then the expiration date would have been a year from when you received them. After that, they don't get dangerous, but they do begin to lose efficacy. However, what you should be aware of is that all medications containing Propoxyphene were pulled from the market, due to the risk it causes of cardiac dangers. Propoxyphene has also just been pulled from the market, due to the cardiac problems it can cause. If Darvacet is pulled out of circulation by FDA, is is safe or harmful to take Propoxyphen Apap for pain, being it is a generic of Darvacet? Only take one as needed, not taken for chronic pain. ## The recall includes ALL medications containing Propoxyphene, not just the name brands, which would be Darvocet, this no, it is not safe to continue taking the generic, Acetaminophen and Propoxyphene. They have all been recalled and are will no longer be available on the market, this means those using it will have to speak to their doctors and switch to something else, anyway. The FDA has forced the recall, because Propoxyphene is cardio-toxic. Fortunately, the effects it has on the heart only last while you are taking it, it goes back to normal, when the medication is discontinued. However, it...

It doesn't get dangerous, when it is expired, but it can be less effective and may not work as well.
