I was given a trial prescription to it and it works great for me but the price for 30 pills is 460 dollars and I can't afford it so I'm unable to purchase my medication and want to know if there are any programs that help people attain their meds. ## As of writing this, the company that makes Avanafil doesn’t have a patient assistance program, but you can use a free discount card to lower the cost. Here is an option you can check: Many pharmacies accept discounts, and this could help to lower the price. Hope this helps!
I have Diclofenac that was prescribed in late 2006 but has no expiry date. Is it still safe to use? ## Hello, Bob! How are you? I'm not sure how your country handles drug laws and expiration dates, so I can only provide you with information that I am familiar with from the U.S. FDA. From their efficacy studies, when left in the original factory sealed containers, it was found to retain full efficacy for 3 years, but once that container was opened and it was dispensed in a pharmacy/chemist's container that exposes it to the elements that cause degradation, that efficacy could only be guaranteed for one year. It was not, however, found to become dangerous after the expiration date, but after so many years, it is most likely worthless and you should just dispose of it. ## I have Di...
Has anyone else been prescribed Belbuca? I'm unable to have any other opiates prescribed to me and now I'm on this med. I'm surprised how well it works after a few adjustments to get the dosage right. I'm currently on 600 mcg 2x day. I have lots of back issues and I used to take Hyslinga 30 mg x 2 day and oxycodone 10 mg 5x day. This stuff is much easier to manage then the pills, and the pain relief is great.. ## That's awesome, so very glad that it is working so well for you, since it tends to be hit or miss for some people. The FDA warns that Belbuca does carry the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, and headache. Is anyone else also experiencing good results on this medication? ## The dosage ...
When I should use pot cl and what are the benefits? ## Hi, Abdo! This is just a potassium supplement, it is vital to our overall health and a deficiency in it can cause quite a few health issues, such as high blood pressure, elevated heart rate and irregular heart rhythm. However, you shouldn't take it, unless your doctor has actually done a blood test and told you that you need to take it, because too much of it can also be very dangerous. Did your doctor prescribe this for you? ## I was prescribed pot cl micro 10 meg along with water pill. Now that I'm not taking the water pill I've been still taking the potassium since August. What danger am in. I feel something going on ## Can I crush these very large tablets? ## What happens if I don’t get enough potassium?
I have both shoulders with rotator cuff issues. I take a single 5/325 several times a week at night to sleep. Is there any danger of dependency or addiction?
Updated in HydrocodoneI was using heroin 2-3 times a day for a year. I quit heroin but continued to use pills. I recently could not get pills for about a week. I was extremely ill. So I said enough and went to a methadone clinic to quit everything. They said they would not treat me cause there was nothing in my blood or urine. I got some pills today and am going to clinic tomorrow. My question is how soon will they show up, and will 50 mg of hydrocodone and 20 mg of oxycodone be enough to "fail" the blood and urine tests to get in the program. ## The amount you're taking is more than enough if you have a urine test the following day. Hydrocodone alone can remain in your system for 1-6 days for a urine test; while Oxycodone can be present in urine for 2-4 days. A blood test however may only show O...
Reading the forum I see that several people have gotten to very high doses very quickly. I just started a week ago at 2.5 and see the doc for bloodwork at 4 weeks. If she sees I'm doing well with all numbers including weight loss, the plan is to continue on that dose another month or longer as long as results are positive. Since I did have nausea and sulfur burps first few days, I'm fine with that. I just don't understand getting to 10 in 4 months. Can someone explain that?
Updated in MounjaroWhere can I buy it ## Hi Michelle, The original Borofax ointment (boric acid 5% + lanolin) was actually discontinued in 1993 due to some toxic effects attributed to boric acid. Apparently though, the manufacturer of Borofax reformulated the product and began selling it again. The active ingredients in the new formulation are Zinc Oxide 15% and white petrolatum 68.6%. The newer product does not contain boric acid. The new formulation of Borofax (with Zinc oxide) is available, but may not be routinely stocked by pharmacies on shelves. So a pharmacist may have to special order it for you. Most popular diaper rash products available today contain the similar ingredients. Common examples include: Desitin cream with 40% Zinc oxide, lanolin, and white petrolatum. Balmex cream and A+D cream als...
I am taking Clonidine for an off label use to treat Bruxism(teeth clenching at night). Currently 0.2mg just at night ,but considering trying 0.3mg. My questions are 1) I've heard some people develop a tolerance to Clonidine after taking it for a longtime(so it becomes ineffective and the dose must be increased or treatment stopped). How long can I take before I should take a break ,so I don;t develop this tolerance? 2) If I take 0.3mg and then want to stop taking it , if i reduce my dose by 0.05(half a tablet) every 3-4 days should that avoid rebound hypertension ? My doctor said withdrawal and tolerance are not problems at all so i can stop cold when i want, but don;t think it is a drug she has experience prescribing (only prescribed it as I suggested trying it ,from studies I had ...
Recently started taking meloxicam for painful lower extremities. I take 7.5 mg once a day. Can I take 2 tylenols at night to avoid too much meloxicam since I still have some pain? Also, I saw online an additive to water etc called buzz drops which contain cbd and thc. Can I use this while taking meloxicam? I normally like a glass or 2 of wine a day but want to avoid alcohol due to possible stomach issues. ## For Meloxicam with Tylenol - yes, you can take Tylenol with Meloxicam. They work in different ways and don’t clash. A normal dose of Tylenol at night is usually safe, just don’t go over the daily Tylenol limit (3,000 mg per day for most adults), and avoid it if you have liver problems. As for taking Meloxicam with CBD/THC, they don’t directly interact with meloxica...
Teva No Longer Manufacturers Clonazepam, and I personally feel it is a good thing. Teva, in my opinion, is a low-quality company who actually manufacturers 70% of their products overseas, in cities and communities I don't think you would want to live in. I find the change-over, in terms of most of my medications, including clonazapam 2mh hs to be more effective than before. There are, of course, individual differences, but this is how it is for me personally. Would anyone else care to comment? ## From what I can see on their site, they still list it as being currently manufacturer. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, and irritability. Where did you hear that they discontinued it? What company ...
Just started on 7.5mg once a day for bursitis of the hip. I enjoy a glass or 2 of wine a day. Is this ok? ## It’s usually okay to have a small amount of alcohol while taking meloxicam, but there are a couple things to keep in mind. Meloxicam is an NSAID, kind of like a stronger version of ibuprofen. Both meloxicam and alcohol can irritate your stomach. When you mix them, the chance of things like stomach pain, heartburn, or even stomach bleeding goes up — especially if you drink a lot. For most people, having one glass of wine, and sometimes two, is probably fine as long as: - They don’t have a history of stomach ulcers or bleeding - They aren’t taking other meds that irritate the stomach - They drink with food - They stick to small amounts If you ever notice bla...
After seeing the many side effects, including with me having CSVD, I want to help myself, but afraid. Most of the side effects, I already have as is. I trust my doctor, in that I know she may feel she just wants me out of my major depression. I don’t know what to do.
Updated in RexultiI had bunion surgery 7 wks ago. my foot is still swolen and in a lot of pain. I took my 1st 15 mg Meloxicam last evening and was wondering how long it takes to take effect. Also it seems that most people have been prescribed Meloxicam for muscle pain and arthritis do you think it's appropriate for me since mine is an acute injury? I'm a bit fearful of taking this med due to it's possible side effects. ## Hello, Renee! How are you? The FDA classifies Meloxicam as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that is used to treat pain, fever and swelling, so yes, it can also be used for problems such as yours. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. It should have some pain relief properties shortly afte...
Does anyone know any known dangerous pharmacological or toxic negative interactions of combining 50 mg of each? Nortriptyline 50 mg AM + amitriptyline 50 PM. Any more amitriptyline than that and I struggle to wake up, but 50 or 75 mg lacks the antidepressant properties of 100 or 150 mg. Tried only 100, then 150 of nortriptyline, but perhaps the SRI mechanism is the reason for the difference. And one's a metabolite of the other. Any thoughts?
Updated in NortriptylineMy pain mgt. doctor has decided that he wants to take me off Oxycodone 40mg per day and put me on Belbuca. I don't want to do this, but he is leaving me with no choice. What should I expect? ## How is he doing the transition? In order to start the Belbuca, you'll need to be off the Oxycodone for several days, otherwise it could throw you into precipitated withdrawals. Belbuca contains the active ingredient Buprenorphine, so the FDA warns that it also carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Ref: Belbuca Information Many doctors are switching their patients as a precaution to help prevent them developing opiate abuse. ## How many days should I be off? Withdrawals do not sound like fun. T...
Have almost lost all I wanted to. I understand it is likely that when I come off Mounjaro, my weight/appetite likely to increase, and I don't know whether to try & lose few more kilos to have 'some thing in hand'. Any views please?
Updated in Mounjarosomewhere close to columbus indiana husband has been taking for 8 years and family doc wont presribe cuz of new dea rules ## There are no new DEA rules governing Methadone. Go to their website and look it up. ## BL is correct, the rules are the same. If he was taking it for addiction/maintenance treatment, then regular doctors have never been able to prescribe it for that. That can only be done in a clinical setting by those specially trained in its use for such. And for pain, the new regulations concern all narcotics, not just Methadone. There have been severe restrictions placed on general practitioners and surgeons regarding what they can and cannot prescribe, so if someone needs such a medication for the long-term treatment of chronic pain, they will have to see a pain management sp...
Doctor who perscribes methadone in indianapolis, indiana for pain ## Drs that treat chronic pain ## Hello, Laura! How are you? I'm sorry, but there is no directory of doctors according to what they will or will not prescribe that I can refer to for you. What you need to do is set up an appointment with a pain management specialist and go from there. Can anyone suggest a good doctor in that location? Melissa, what is your general location? That would make it easier for someone to suggest doctors, if they know of any. ## There’s a walk in clinic I heard of in greenwood. Might try there ## Any pain management sone primary care physician will do it. I know my neurologist doesn’t but my old primary care does. He’s currently still technically my pcp but I’m switchi...
Any names of doctors who will prescribe vicodin for degenerative disks in IN? ## Hello, Alex! How are you? There is no database of doctors that will prescribe any given medication. If you require such a medication on a long-term basis for chronic pain, you will most likely need to see a pain management specialist. Do you have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, then it would most likely be easiest to have them refer to you someone. Learn more Vicodin details here. ## I'm not sure where you are, but if you were in the UK you would definitely need a prescription. If you want to be treated or even just een quickly your best bet is to consult a private doctor.
