Updated in Ferrous SulfateThe prescription packaging on my 50,000 units per pill of Vita D, says not to crush or chew before swallowing. "Swallow whole". Why can't these by chewed? My pharmacist didn't know why. Can't swallow pills. ## Does it happen to have anything else on the label, such as ER, XR, SR or anything like that? Some of these are controlled release, so it isn't all released into your body at once and crushing them defeats that and could result in you getting too much of it, at once. Some prescription Potassium tablets come the same way and cannot be crushed, cut or chewed. Other times it is done to prevent the irritation that can occur to the esophagus or stomach from certain medications and supplement. They are specially coated to help prevent this from happening and by cr...

Tablets to cure anemia ## Ferrous sulfate is the correct name. Basically it is a supplemental form of Iron Salts. You can view more info in the link below... Obviously iron or iron absorption is lacking in the diet. If you want to avoid pills, you should naturally eat more iron rich foods, like spinach, hemp seeds, watermelon, and MANY more. Also try to eat more kiwi for their high vitamin C content. It is much higher than oranges and will help with iron absorption issues. There are a vast number of other foods with similar properties to help you naturally if this is the route you choose to take. Please post back if you have any other questions or comments to add.

pls tell me taking vitamin B12 is benificial or harmful to heart dieases ## Vitamin B12 is an important nutrient that our bodies need. Studies have shown that it can help with heart disease, by lowering Homocysteine levels in the blood. Elevated levels have been directly associated with worsening heart disease. However, you can't go overboard with it and use more than what is directed, because the can be dangerous and cause other health problems. The studies mainly showed it to be of the most benefit, when coupled with Folic Acid, so that is another supplement you may want to consider adding. Are there any other questions?
