He is prescribed Oxycontin (2 per day) and Oxycodone (3-4 per day). Recently, he was not obtaining relief from those meds. He decided to take an older prescription of Hydrocodone (Norco 10-325) that a doctor had written him a couple years earlier. He stopped taking his usual meds on Monday night, and began taking the Hydrocodone on Tuesday (4-5 pills per day) and he took them for 4 days (which ended friday). Then took another one at 11am on Saturday morning. He then went back to his normal meds. On Tuesday, he had to take a UA for his monthly doctors appt. He has not received the results of the test yet. We are curious as to what some of you folks that have a litt...
Updateddvt been taking hydrodone 3-325 Constspation sometimes occurs I get dizzy, sweats really bad ,sick to my stomach After sitting on the throne for about forty five minutes, the movement came What a releif How can I prepare for this,I was scared s---less ## Hello, Grammy911! How are you? Those are all normal side effects of this medication, since the Hydrocodone is a narcotic. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. The best thing I found to help with the constipation, when I was on them, was natural fiber supplements, such as Metamucil. If your doctor says that it is safe for you to take, it might help you, as well. For the nausea, try taking it with food and not ...
I recently went to the dentist because I've been having severe tooth pain causing a pain to shoot up from my tooth to my head. The dentist said I had an infection due to my wisdom teeth being taken out and it caused the tooth to move and caused bacteria to go in. My question is, he prescribed me the Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen 5-325 TB to be taken every 6 hours for pain along with Amoxicillin for the infection. Can I take 2 doses of the Hydrocodone because one is not cutting it? ## Hello, Kammy! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain. But no, you shouldn't take more of it than has been prescribed for you. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and, if you aren't tolerant to it, you could overdose. Additionally, you have to be very...
I just left Walgreens in Nasjville, TN and was told that that they can't fill my prescription for 10/325 (Lortab) due to a problem with the manufacturer. I called a Publix pharmacy that told ne that a change in the delivery scheduling is causing the shortage. I sure hope they clear this up soon! ## Hello, Bennie! How are you? I'm sorry that you're having a problem getting your prescription filled. We are also into the time of year where there is almost always a shortage of controlled substances, due to mandatory manufacturing limits. Once a company has produced their allotted amount, they can't manufacture any new product, until the new year. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, d...
Is go37 a part of the hydrocodone family and if so what mg are they. The pill is white and oblong with the marking go37 stamped on the pill ## Hello, Grh! How are you? Yes, this tablet contains 325mgs of Acetaminophen and 10mgs of Hydrocodone. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. As of the beginning of this month, this medication is now a schedule 2 drug. Is there anything else I can help with?
Here's a question - has anyone experienced a gradual change or development of negative side effects on hydrocodone even if you've been taking it a while? Just a bit of background - I was prescribed hydrocodone 5/325 1-2 tabs for chronic pelvic pain syndrome and dysmenorrhea. I would say I take it about 2-3x a week. Usually 1 1/2 tabs. Have never had to raise my dose since prescribed. In the beginning it would just make me hyper and chatty for 2 or 3 hours, then insomnia if I took it too close to bed time. Could not physically sleep until at least 8 hours after taking it!! But it relieved the pain wonderfully, so those side effects were tolerable. Over the course of the past 6 months or so, this changed. Gradually the hyperness/chattiness tapered down, insomnia from it was gone, ...
I got hydrocodone but the bottle says to throw way after 10.2008, can I still take them? ## I have taken hydrocodone off and for about six years and the last two, every day. In high school I started taking them for fun and when I hurt my back and had surgery when I was nineteen I began taking then consistantly for pain management. I am now 24 years old going in a month from now for a second surgery. I am perscribed to take 6-8 10/325 hydros a day but as many follow this dark path like myself, I take more then I should because I like the way they make me feel. I am ashamed to post, even though my identity is private, that I frequently take 10-12 of these pills in one handfull to get high because I have built such a tolerance over the years and I need to take atleast five at once just to ...
Is this pill 5 mg or 10mg? And what does the 3604 stand for? ## Hello, Doc! How are you? The white, oblong tablet with the red specks that has the marking 3604 V on it contains 5mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. And according to law, all manufactured prescription tablets must have unique markings to enable their identification, in case of an emergency, so any given pill can be traced by to a specific manufacturer. That's what the 3604 V is, it's just the code that Vintage/Qualitest has chosen to use on this pill to identify it as their product. Is there anything else I can help with?
I can't find my prescription anywhere due to the new law , I was sounder ehat I could take instead of my hydrocodone/acetaminophen.. ## Hi Anthony, Sorry to hear about your situation. However, there are a number of different options on the market if you were to look for an alternative pain medication to Lortab (hydrocodone + acetaminophen); even if you were to just opt for another brand name or generic of the same medication. But just to name a few that you could ask your doctor about, there are: Percocet (oxycodone + acetaminophen) Percodan/Endodan (oxycodone + aspirin) Norco (hydrocodone + acetaminophen) Vicoprofen/Reprexain/Ibudone (hydrocodone + ibuprofen) Please also note that changing medications may not necessarily make it any easier to fill, especially if they are of the sam...
I was prescribed Vicodin for a dental implant and as given the hydrocodon acetominiphen 7.5-325, and had a reaction to them..It caused itching all over and wheezing. I have taken the name brand with no issues. where can I find out what the ingredients are in this? Could there be gluten in them as I have a gluten problem. ## Hello, Ellen! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you had. It is always possible to develop an allergy to something, even if you took it before, without a problem. So, we can't rule out that possibility. As to the inactive ingredients, in the orange/peach oval tablet with the V 3605 marking, they are listed as being: croscarmellose sodium FD&C Red No. 40 FD&C Yellow No. 6 lactose Monohydrate magnesium stearate microcrystalline cellulose povidone ...
Ok I have a concern this will sound really off to many I'm sorry for that, anyhow I had to take a preemployment 10 panel drug test yesterday I did use a sub sample which once in the cup registered at 94-95 degrees, here's the "off" part I saw a floaty in the cup so like a tard I decided to dip my finger in and try to get it out (I know, I'm not proud of it sorry)so.....here's the thing I didn't think abt this till after I left but on that particular finger there was some hydrocodone powder on it BUT, before I "peed" between the waiting and rinsing my hands and drying them with paper towels I would think it would be off my finger or could it still make the test show positive for opiates?? Thanks in advance.
UpdatedMy 73 year old mother ended chemo in June and had bladder surgery in July with a stent put in. She was in a lot of pain and started taking Norco. 2 weeks ag she had the stent taken out and us in less pain, but I am worried about the Norco because she hasn't been herself since the surgery and starting Norco. She's been in bed, not really a desire to eat and it seems the Norco has been messing with her head. Can Norco have this effect? I'm trying to encourage her to reaper off but I don't know the best way. Please help. ## Jill, you need to talk to her dr or take her in for an appointment. This med can have side effects like the ones you described. But, it could also be other things. When older patients undergo a general anesthesia, it can affect them mentally long term. #...
Look up local docs. Make an appointment: propublica.org/atpropublica/item/whos-prescribing-the-most-hydrocodone-in-your-area ## This info is from 2011. It is for rxs that a drs writes to Medicare patients who have Prescription Part D. Many of these patients are very ill with chronic health problems. This info is not an indicator of what rxs a dr will write to new patients who may not have the serious illnesses that other patients do and who may not be as old as other patients. Many of these drs work in hospital Emergency Rooms. Which also accounts for the high number of certain rxs they may write. Medicare is in the process of cracking down on pain meds that are wrtten for non cancer related pain.
What is the shelf life of these pills? 12, 18, 24 Months? I do understand like all other products, they do lose their potency. ## Once they have been removed from the originally factory sealed bottle and exposed to the elements, then the expiration date is one year. If they are still in the original factory sealed bottle, then the expiration date is 3 years from the date of manufacture. Are there any other questions? ## Thank you, I'll be throwing these pills out ## I believe they say you can keep them for 3 years, that is if they are sealed from the manufacturer. Personally I wouldn't wouldn't worry too much about a month more or less. Heat and light may affect stength. ## I have a 500 mg vicodine that expired in 02/08/2013. It is a year and 6 months old. Can u still use it...
Hello. It says do not fill until tomorrow and i was curious if my Pharmacy would look past that or not? ## Hello, Pamie! How are you? No, they will not. It would be illegal for them to fill it sooner. This medication carries the risk of being habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, drowsiness and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?
It's an oval white pill with u03 on it. I was prescribed them a while back for pain. Just wondering how they compare to the Watson 853s that I'm prescribed now? ## Hello, Brad! How are you? Both of these tablets contain 10mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. This is a narcotic analgesic, which carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?
I was on hydrocodone 10/500 for years. Took myself off them when I lost my Insurance and had to take tylenol 500mg (was taking 12-16)a day >This started to cause liver damage so I was put on Tramadol 300mg (i per day and this is working nicely for me.just don't like the dizziness I get sometimes. Can Tramadol do damage with long term use? ## Hello, A J! How are you? There is always a slight risk, when you take any medication for a long period of time. Most are processed by your liver, so there is a chance it may do some damage, though the risk is very small and it is much safer than taking that much Acetaminophen in a day. Tramadol also carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation....
I took @ 2 teaspoons of the 5ml hydrocodone syrup on Saturday and the same on Sunday. Been years since I have taken any because I'm a recovering addict. I may have a 12 panel urine test Thursday am. I'm around 6ft 250 . With my weight should I be concerned with the 3 day window and taking so little? BTW. I know I made a mistake and I feel horrible.
Updatedwill hydrocodone cream thin the blood Yes or no ## Hydrocodone does not come in a cream. I believe you're talking about Hydrocortizone Cream. ## Hello, Mike! How are you? On top of what BL said, no Hydrocortisone in the cream is a topical steroid used to treat skin rashes and allergic reactions. And no, it should not cause blood thinning, because you usually don't absorb much of it. Side effects are usually limited to topical reactions, such as skin irritation and redness. Is there anything else I can help with?
can these two drugs safely be taken at the same time when pain prohibits sleep? ## Hello, Scooter! How are you? It would be best not to mix them, unless your doctor has said it's okay for you to do so. There is a risk of liver damage or failure, as well as stomach damage and an increased risk of bleeding. Have you been instructed to take 2 of the Hydrocodone/APAP tablets, at once? This medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
