I can't find my prescription anywhere due to the new law , I was sounder ehat I could take instead of my hydrocodone/acetaminophen..

Hi Anthony,

Sorry to hear about your situation. However, there are a number of different options on the market if you were to look for an alternative pain medication to Lortab (hydrocodone + acetaminophen); even if you were to just opt for another brand name or generic of the same medication. But just to name a few that you could ask your doctor about, there are:

Percocet (oxycodone + acetaminophen)
Percodan/Endodan (oxycodone + aspirin)
Norco (hydrocodone + acetaminophen)
Vicoprofen/Reprexain/Ibudone (hydrocodone + ibuprofen)

Please also note that changing medications may not necessarily make it any easier to fill, especially if they are of the same drug class, quantity, and/or dosage... but talking with your doctor about this concern should open the door for a line of communication between both the doctor and pharmacy when it comes time for a refill. I've actually heard of cases where the quantity was simply changed on the script and the pharmacy was then able to fill it. So any minor adjustments like that could also be a game changer in that regard.
