I could not get my presciption filled Anderson, IN pharmacy dont have my medication, they said there is a shortage... whats going on please

From what I understand, there has been a shortage due to labeling changes, because this medication was changed to schedule 2 at the beginning of this month.

Additionally, we are into the time of year when we always have a shortage due to mandatory manufacturing limits. Each manufacturer is only allowed to produce a certain amount of any controlled substance each year, once they reach that limit, they can't make any new product, until the new year. Demand almost always seems to exceed supply and we end up with a shortage for the last few months of the year.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

The only suggestion I can make is to speak to your pharmacist about what they do have in stock and then ask your doctor if they'd be willing to prescribe it in the meantime.
