UpdatedChonic pain been dianosed for over 10 years. Government regulation have made Doctors cut your medication by almost half and know it is not enough. Doctors are saying that the Feds are stopping them from properly treating especially chronic pain due to major trama and or illness. Can we legally get the meds we need from out of the country sources? ## No, you cannot. Ordering a medication from another country and having it imported into the U.S. is illegal if there is an equivalent approved medication here. Even if you are visiting another country and have something prescribe there, you are limited to only being allowed to bring up to 3 months worth of it into the U.S. with you. There are actually exceptions to the restrictions for patients with a severe illness that could be terminal, su...
Information needed Refractory Hodgkin's lymphoma and Brentuximab Vedotin ## From what I could gather, Brentuximab vedotin injection is used in patients with Hodgkin's lymphoma who have otherwise not responded to stem cell transplants (procedure that replaces diseased bone marrow with healthy bone marrow) or at least two treatments of chemotherapy. More information on Brentuximab vedotin injection can be found by visiting the webpage below: nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a611052.html Refractory Hodgkin's lymphoma is basically a form of cancer pertaining to the white blood cells (lymphocytes); which make up a large part of the lymphatic system. The term Refractory simply means that the lymphoma is resistant to primary treatment options. You can find more specific detail...
I am prescribed Lestrozole 2.5mg for breast cancer made by Femara. The only problem is that when I get my prescription it is always a different make. At the moment I have Actavis, but I would rather have the Femara which was prescribed from the hospital. ## HI, Flower! Do you have a problem with the generic ones? I'm not sure what the policy is where you're located, so I'd suggest talking to your pharmacist/chemist and asking them if you can get the name brand, or if you have to take a generic. I know in the U.S. much of it depends on your insurance and what it covers, for instance in most cases you have to take the generics. Learn more Femara details here.
I found a small pea sized, hard, round lump under the middle of my armpit about 2 weeks ago. Is this something that I should worry about? ## HI, Ann! How are you? Is the lump still there? Has it changed, at all? It may be a lymph node and they can swell for various reasons, such as if your body is fighting off an infection. However, being female, they can also swell due to problems with the breast, such as mammary infections, breast cancer and other conditions, thus you should really have it checked out by your doctor.
I am starting a 10 month program for BCC, and I have a physically demanding job, with a lot of traveling involved. Will I still be able to work and travel while taking this medication? ## This contains the active ingredient Vismodegib and it is very new to the market, having only been approved at the end of January of this year. Thus, this type of information isn't available, yet. Learn more Vismodegib details here. This often happens when drugs are new to be approved, because no one has used them under real world conditions, such as working in such a manner. Have you discussed it with your doctor? How severe is your BCC? ## Started with the medication 7th July, and untill now I feel some small differences in my body-balance, but not that much that blocks it me in my daily work. The...
My wife is a patient of arithries. I have searched on google and found that cytotron is a therapy done with MRI and magnet rays for arithrites and cancer. They give oe hour treatment for 21 days in Ludhiana/India and claims that total pain is relieved and cartilege repaired 100%.Is it so effective. I want to know it immidiately. ## Dear Madan Mohan Yakhmi, I have never said that Cytotron or from a medical point of view any other treatment is 100% effective. Can you please let me know your source of information as I will like to correct it. ## There are actually still ads available online that make claims to its being a cure for both cancer and arthritis, but this treatment actually has no basis in medical, or scientific fact. There are follow up newspaper and informational articles that...

All I hear about over the last 1-2 years is how Florida's "easy" pill mill doctors have made it so difficult for legitimate patients to get help with their pain. I'm not talking subjective pain but serious objective diagnoses which range from RA, lupus, sickle cell to cancer with mets to the bone. If anyone know how and why this was able to happen so openly for so long I would really like to know. I have visited Florida on vacation and we were shocked at the offers of drug sales at just about every beach and place we went. When we were having trouble getting care in our own state, with the referral of my Oncologist, we contemplated flying to Florida in order to visit a pill mill doc I was so desperate. They were so brazen in that when I called I was told If I didn't ...

Anyone have side effect of painful, bulging fingernails and nails coming off? ## That is not something that's listed as a typical side effect, but there is a chance that that may be the sign of a serious reaction starting and you should consult your doctor immediately. hi I am 23 years old and I am taking serta 50 in the morning and serata 100, zapiz 0.25 since three years. now am addicted to these tablets . please let me know if I can continue these tablets for lifetime. continuous consumption of tablets may cause blood cancer as I have heard. is that true. please help me out ## Hi, Chethana! How are you? There is a difference between addiction and just being dependent on them. Addiction occurs when you abuse a medication, because you like how it makes you feel, so you keep taking more and more of it, rather than just taking it in the prescribed amounts. However, dependence can happen with any medication you take for a long period of time, because your body is just used to having it added on a regular basis. Dependence doesn't result in the same ...
I have been prescribed Nexpro 20 for flatulence caused by wysolone and methotrexate, which I am taking for RA. Yet I read everywhere that flatulence is a side effect of Nexpro. I don't have acidity or upper digestive tract problems, mine are all in the lower regions – bloating and gas. Can you advise? ## Perhaps I should have been clearer – I am based in India and Wysolone is the Indian brand name for prednisone (US) or prednisolone (UK) – this is cortisone medication.. Folitrax is the Indian brand name for methotrexate. if Nexpro is designed to cure flatulence, how on earth can flatulence be a side effect? Yet I read on websites that is is listed as one Anyone any insight into this? ## Hi, Loosa! How are you doing? There are some cases where gas and b...
My father is treated for a metastatic colorectal cancer since two years and now he is resistant to all therapeutic, his disease is evolutionary, the last treatment required is Stivarga. In my country this drug is not available. Can anyone help me to find this drug. It's urgent. Tank you.
Updated in StivargaCan methotrexate be used to treat a plantar fibroma? I have a plantar fibroma about mid-arch in my right foot that is very bothersome to walk or stand. ## Once that condition has progressed to the point where walking and/or standing are painful, the only solution is surgery to remove the thickened areas of the tissue in your foot. Even medications that are normally used, such as steroid injections or topical creams only lessen the pain and inflammation, they don't actually resolve the problem. Methotrexate is sometimes used after surgery to help prevent recurrence, but it's not known to effectively treat the condition by itself. What has your doctor recommended? Have you tried steroids or collagen injections?
My husband has just started taking vismodegib almost a week ago. We are concerned about the side effects. So far he is doing great. Does anyone have any advice or want to share how they are doing on it? Thank you, ## This drug was just approved to treat BCC in January of 2012, so it's still very new and I don't think it's in wide use yet, since this is the first post I've read about it. Did he have any problems, so far? Here's the current information on it: You can learn more Vismogedib details here. As you can see it's pretty limited. It's the first of this type to ever be approved. Is anyone else taking it?

Updated in Thalidomidehigh estrogen ## Hello, Are you referring to Armidex? If so, my research tells me that Arimidex (the brand name for the main ingredient Anastrozole) is an aromatase inhibitor that helps prevent the production of estrogen, a hormone that fuels many breast cancer tumors. Aromatase inhibitors can block the enzyme aromatase, a substance that helps your body tissues produce estrogen. Arimidex is considered a hormonal treatment, and can help prevent recurrence (return) of breast cancer. Possible side effects (patients with early stage breast cancer have reported these symptoms): -hot flashes -joint pain -weakness -mood swings -sore throat -nausea and vomiting -depression -high blood pressure -osteoporosis (bone thinning) -swelling of arms and/or legs -headache You can learn more about this dr...
What Is The Side Effects Of This Medication & Can I Take In Place Of Casodex ## Hello Dave Hughes, Some side effects of Casodex may include but are not limited to the following: reproductive system and breast disorders, breast tenderness, gynaecomastia, hot flushes, gastrointestinal disorders, diarrhoea, nausea, hepatic changes (elevated levels of transaminases, jaundice), asthenia and pruritus. To answer your next question; if you're talking about Bicalutamide, the active ingredient in Casodex, then yes you could take it instead if you want. However, it would most likely be the generic version. I can't remember if I told you this in my last reply, but the FDA permits generic formulas to contain up to 20% more or less of the actual active ingredients. This factor, along with...
