I am about to start this tablet after breast cancer and radio I am really worried about it all and the different types of it! Need some advice ## Hello, Gaye! How are you? I'm very sorry about the cancer and I understand your concerns. The FDA lists its most common side effects as possibly including hot flashes, weakness, joint pain, sore throat, headache, depression and high blood pressure. It lowers estrogen levels and some breast tumors need it to grow. It's generally only prescribed for post-menopausal women. What are your specific concerns? Perhaps I can address them better, if you are more specific.

the pill is a small round white tablet with dx marked on one side and nothing on the other side this pill is about 1cm across ## Hi mike, The closest match I've been able to find is Arimidex (1 mg)- which contains the main ingredient anastrozole; it's a small, white, and round pill with the imprint Adx on the front and an A with an arrow pointing downwards (which is part of the A) on the back. It's kind of a hard imprint to describe... also, the imprints don't seem to have been stamped into the pill very deeply so maybe some of them got rubbed/smudged off at some point? Manufacturer: AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals National Drug Code (NDC): 00310-0201 Anastrozole (marketed under the trade name Arimidex by AstraZeneca) is an aromatase-inhibiting drug approved for treatment of...

I have medicade, does anyone know of a Dr in Vegas that will prescribe these? Thank you for any help ## Hello, Valerie! How are you? Have you consulted your doctor about this issue? Arimidex can also cause bone fractures, so you need to have this checked out to be certain of what's going on.

high estrogen ## Hello, Are you referring to Armidex? If so, my research tells me that Arimidex (the brand name for the main ingredient Anastrozole) is an aromatase inhibitor that helps prevent the production of estrogen, a hormone that fuels many breast cancer tumors. Aromatase inhibitors can block the enzyme aromatase, a substance that helps your body tissues produce estrogen. Arimidex is considered a hormonal treatment, and can help prevent recurrence (return) of breast cancer. Possible side effects (patients with early stage breast cancer have reported these symptoms): -hot flashes -joint pain -weakness -mood swings -sore throat -nausea and vomiting -depression -high blood pressure -osteoporosis (bone thinning) -swelling of arms and/or legs -headache You can learn more about this dr...

I had mastectomy of my left breast on 19/11/2007 & since than taking daily 1 tab daily which had to be continued till 18/11/2012 as prescribed. After that American research centre group advice me to take nolvadex tab instead of taking arimedex. But my treating doctor knowing this, differ's opinion & continues treatment with arimidex. In the meantime i am going quite ok ,only other than body hot flashes & mild pain. Question is which medicine would have been more effective & justified ? After stoping the medicine what will be the next/future management after completion of 5 years duration of present treatment.

I would like to hear from other users of Arimidex about their personal experience. For example bone pain, hot flashes or any other related side effects. What are their personal experiences? ## What have you done to relieve the bone pain. I was started on Femara and it is worse. My legs ache no swelling and heat or ice doesnt help or anti-inflamatories. Tylenol seems best. ## I've been experiencing leg pain, bone and muscle for about two weeks. I have an appt. tomorrow to discuss with my oncologist. ## I've been taking Arimidex for 4 years and a half. Side effects: Hair got thinner, muscle pain, lost of appetite some days. Are there any side effects when taking this medication ? ## Yes, every medication has side effects, from Tylenol to Narcotics. ## You got that right! However, not all people experience side effects. For example, I cannot take NSAIDS because I get an almost immediate stomach bleed, but my other siblings have absolutely no side effects to them at all. Were you thinking of a particular medication and possible side effects?
