hi I am 23 years old and I am taking serta 50 in the morning and serata 100, zapiz 0.25 since three years. now am addicted to these tablets . please let me know if I can continue these tablets for lifetime. continuous consumption of tablets may cause blood cancer as I have heard. is that true. please help me out

There is a difference between addiction and just being dependent on them. Addiction occurs when you abuse a medication, because you like how it makes you feel, so you keep taking more and more of it, rather than just taking it in the prescribed amounts.

However, dependence can happen with any medication you take for a long period of time, because your body is just used to having it added on a regular basis.

Dependence doesn't result in the same dangerous withdrawal symptoms as addiction, they are usually much milder and don't last as long.

The biggest one of concern is the Zapiz, since it is a benzodiazepine, they are habit forming and the greatest risk if you would stop taking it abruptly would be seizures.

Have you consulted your doctor to discuss your concerns?

There are risks associated with the long term use of any medication, but no I am not aware of blood cancer usually being one of them.
