I did a hair folicle test last Aug. 18,2012. Result was posetive. I. m taking Lisinopril 20 mg, Bupropion sr 150mg and Atenelol. these are my prescriptions, will it cause my Hair folic test result as positive? ## It may have been caused by the Bupropion, it has been known to cause such false positives on some drug tests. Hi thee i would like to know i started prexum about a week ago. since then i started to get a lot of acne on my face and neck. can it be because of the pills or not. ## Prexum contains the active ingredient Perindopril and, in essence, when you take a medication you are adding a foreign substance to the body, so it is always possible for it cause side effects like this. What is the generic alternative? ## Hi Ann, Based on my research there is no generic or alternative for Benicar HCT(Olmesartan Medoxomil Hydrochlorothiazide). There is however, a generic for just plain Benicar. It is called Olmecip and like Benicar and Benicar HTC, it contains the ingredients Olmesartan Medoxomil. A patien is given Prexum Plus, Coversil and Indapamine, are they not the same drugs? ## Prexum Plus contains Perindopril (Coversyl) and Indapamide, so yes. Though it may have something to do with the dosage and timing, it's common for a doctor to kind of play around with blood pressure/cardiac medications like these to try to figure out what works best for the patient. I was told that Lisinopril WAS in the same ACE Inhibitor Class of Blood Pressure Medications, as Enalapril. Is that True, and how Comparable are they, to take, in regard to Doseage and Frequency? Thanks. ## Yes, they are both ACE inhibitors, the pril on the end of the drug name actually designates that. And Enalapril is actually twice as strong as Lisinopril, so you'd need to take twice as much Lisinopril to equal whatever dosage you were taking of the Enalapril. I have been taking 5-10 amlod benaze capsules for over a year and have had no side effects or any other issue. Recently my doctor changed the dosage to 5-20mg and I have experienced dizziness. can i eat a red pomelo if i am taking metoprolol ## Hi deanna, From what I could gather, there doesn't appear to be any sort of food interaction between Metoprolol and citrus-type fruits, such as pomelo/grapefruit. Grapefruit is a common interaction with many medications, so it was definitely wise of you to double check that first. NOTE: the bioavailability of metoprolol may be enhanced by food (in general), so your doctor may instruct you to take metoprolol at the same time each day, preferably with or immediately following meals.
