Triamterene 75 Mg

Has anyone else experienced leg cramping all night long with this medicine. It's like a charlie horse cramping and it goes every 20 seconds all night long. I also take cozaar.

Yes, I have experienced charlie horse cramping in my legs since using this medication. Not often but yes.

I just checked the monograph and this is not listed as a common/normal side effect. You may want to speak to the prescribing doctor regarding this, there are other options that could be prescribed that may not cause the same problem.

A lot of time, nightime leg cramps are caused by a loss of Potassium in the body, however, this is SUPPOSED to be a Potassium sparing diuretic, so it really makes no sense.

This is caused by loosing too much fluid. When this happens drink plenty of extra water.

Yes, I get horrible charlie-horses when using Dyazide. However, I found a solution; one eight ounce glass of V-8 tomato juice each night completely solved the problem. Haven't had one since. The heart people claim that V-8 solves all-things-potassium related. Seems to be right.

The cause is from loss of potassium, which is flushed out by the water loss. Eat a banana or orange juice to give your body back the potassium as well as drink plenty of liquids.

I took my second dose yesterday. I was awake ALL night with Charlie horses. In muscles where I didn't know I had muscles. I cut a pill in half and will see if it helps. If not, I'm tossing it.
