I had a daughter in oct 2011 and was on orthro evra, loved it but was too expensive. so my 3rd month my obgyn put me on sprintec and the 1st month I took it I started my period 3 days early, now that I'm on my second month I am 4 days late. Is this possible or should I take a prego test? I'm so nervous and it's driving me crazy. I have never missed a day :( ## If you haven't missed any, then the chances that you are pregnant are very slim, but you should consult your doctor or get a test done for your own piece of mind, if you're worried about it. And yes, such symptoms are normal when you are taking any new form of hormonal contraceptive and can last for the first 3 months. Are there any other questions or comments?

i have irrugular periods since last four months and every month i get periods for one three to four drops and doctor advised me to take krimson 35 and im un married .in how many days will i get my regular periods and why is this happening ## What did your doctor say was causing it? Krimson 35 is an oral contraceptive, but the hormones it contains can help regulate those in your body, which may result in your experiencing a more normal menstrual cycle.

I started second packet of Angeliq and after taking the second tablet on the 30, I started with a brown discharge and then started bleeding, not hugely but everyday since. Is this normal, will it eventually stop? Not sure what to do. ## This is a hormonal product and it can be normal to experience such side effects for the first 3 months of use, while your body adjusts to it. However, have you consulted your doctor about it?

I have been on Sprintec for almost a year and sometimes I start my period early while im still on the blue pill so im wondering if next month I will start while im on the white pill ## Have you consulted your doctor? There is really no way for anyone to predict when you will start your menstrual cycle, but after being on it for so long, such irregularities should have stopped. You may need to try a different contraceptive.

Hi I have been on Levlen for 11 days now. I know this isn't very long but I have been experiencing most of the side effects listed including severe nausea, a little bit of vomiting, headaches and mood swings. However I also experience major fatigue and my period has lasted me for 11 days. I know I should go to a doctor but cannot right now. I have decided to stop taking it because I don't think it is right for me. I am quite worried about my period lasting so long and quite want it to stop as it has started giving me cramps. Any ideas for how to make this bleeding stop? ## Have you consulted your doctor? Levlen is a hormonal based contraceptive and the side effects you are experiencing, including the breakthrough bleeding, can be normal for the first 3 months, while your body ad...

I have been on lo estrin 24 fe for about 6 months now and my period has never been late. I skipped the brown placebo pills back in Dec. and Jan. because my period came on the first day of the last white pills. I started the brown pills and have not seen my period as yet and I am supposed to start my new pack two days from now which is sunday. Been getting crampy and having signs of my period coming but nothing as yet. If I don't see my period by monday. Def. taking a pregnancy test and heading to my doc's office. ## Meant to say I spotted one day on the last white pill before I started the brown pills and have not seen my...

I have been taking trial sprintec for over a yr and I want to be intimate with my boyfriend for the first time but I'm worried about the risk of getting pregnant. Are there a lot of pregnancy scares with this pill? Because I can't take any chances. Please answer. ## If you have been taking them daily, without missing any pills, as you should, then they have no higher of a failure rate than any other oral contraceptive on the market, which is less than 1%. ## I'm been taking sprintec for about a month now finished one pack and got my period only a day late but on schedule 1/25/12. Then i missed 3 pills back to back due to the pharmacy not having my prescription in stock now i'm on my period 2/9/12 like two weeks early. What's happening?

what are the side effects of this tablet? Can it cause weight gain & a decrease in sex drive? ## Yes, those side effects are common to most birth control pills, you may also experience nausea and headache. I have been doing my research and I notice the side effectsto both pills is headache and nausea, and i have migraine. Do I have any other options? ## i took two femaine pills on the first day of my period to stop it because i'm having a prayer on monday.. will it stop? ## where can I purchse the femiane birth control pills/?

My last date of periods was 14th Jan to 17th January 2012. Can I start taking Dronis 20 from today 29th January. Will it have its contraceptive effect ? ## If you start it at any time other than the start of your menstrual cycle, then you will need to take it continuously for at least 7 days, before it may be effective at preventing pregnancy. When did your doctor advise you to take it?

I have taken all of week one and have taken the first two(scense today is tuesday) of the second week of the first pack and I had unprotected sex on the 1-30-12 am I protected? ## Have you consulted your doctor? However, as a general rule, if you start birth control on the first day of your menstrual cycle, you are usually protected immediately and if you start it at any other time, you have to take it for 7 days, before you are protected.

I believe my wife using Yasmin is what caused her blood clot and eventually her death. Bayer use to imply Yasmin and Yaz were safer then all the other contraceptives. Now Bayer is saying Yasmin and Yaz are just as safe and the number of Adverse Events is no more or less then other contraceptives. I am so sorry for those who have lost a love one or suffered through the pain some of the Adverse Events might have caused them. I don’t think I have the right or the knowledge to stop anyone from taking any drug that’s been approved by the FDA but I think doctors should take more responsibility about informing their patients of the benefits and risks and what other options they might have to taking this one drug. They also need to inform them of what they ...

I have taken all of week one and have taken the first two (since today is tuesday) of the second week of the first pack, and I had unprotected sex yesterday. Am I protected? ## You should check with your doctor to be certain. However, as a general rule, if you start birth control on the first day of your menstrual cycle, you are usually protected immediately and if you start it at any other time, you have to take it for 7 days, before you are protected. I Have Recently Started Taking The Sprintec 28 Day Pill And Its Been Almost Three Weeks Now And Still My Period Is This Normal? ## my period has been on for almost three weeks and its brown looking what is wrong with my body? i am really scared..... ## Have either one of you consulted your respective doctors? When you are new to taking hormonal contraceptives, it is normal to have this type of breakthrough bleeding for the first 3 months, while your body is adjusting the hormones in the medication. However, if you find it severely problematic and are worried, you should definitely consult your doctor, there are other contraceptive pills you can try that may be less problematic for you.

Im a first time user so while talking the first packet I was cramping and spotting on Week 3 of the packet. The spotting lasted five days. So my question is if this was my period, should i continue to take the remainder of pills that is from the first packet or throw those out and start my second packet? ## The breakthrough bleeding, such as you experienced, can be a normal side effect, when you are new to taking hormonal contraceptives and is not considered the same as your actual menstrual cycle, so you should continue taking the tablets exactly as prescribed, without skipping any. Is there anything else I can help with?

I just stopped taking sprintec 2 days ago (after taking it for 4 months) because I'm wanting to get pregnant, and I started my period today. I heard I had to wait til my first normal period, do I still have to wait for another period? Or is it safe? ## You should consult your doctor. As I said in response to your other post, it is sometimes best to wait a few months, to ensure that your body is regulating your hormones on its own, again, to help improve your chances of a health pregnancy. Have you spoken to your doctor, yet?

I used sprintec for 4 months to prevent getting cysts. I'd miss some days but I came back and took it the next day so I wasn't really taking them how I was supposed to I guess. I'm trying to get prego but I'm not sure how long I should wait. Especially now coz I started my period 2 days after I stopped taking it, what does that mean?? ## It would be normal to start your period within a few days of stopping oral contraceptives, it would work the same as the week you are taking the inactive pills in the pack. As to when you should try to get pregnant, you should consult your doctor. Sometimes, it is best to wait a few months, after stopping them, to make sure that your body has reregulated the hormones on its own. Are there any other questions or comments?

I take Synthroid and Zoloft and my endocrinologist thinks Quasense is messing with my absorbtion of my synthroid. Has anyone else had that problem? Also I have had fatigue, insomnia, no cramps the 1st 2 months and now on the 3rd month horrible cramps and 2 weeks of bleeding. Also having memory problems. ## When do you take the Synthroid and Quasense? The Synthroid should be taken on an empty stomach, with nothing but water and hour or two, before eating, or taking any other medications. There are many foods and medications that can affect the absorption of it, that's why it is always advisable to take it in the manner I described. As to the symptoms from the Quasense, those can be normal side effects, when your body is adjusting to it. If they worsen, or don't taper off, then ma...

I started my first pack of pills and I'm on the third week. My period started more than a week ago, and I have been bleeding irregularly and heavily for the past 9 days. The wierd thing is that I don't bleed all afternoon and evening. But when I take the pill at night, I start to bleed heavily a couple of hours after taking the pill, all the way until early morning. Is this break through bleeding or my period? I also can't get any sleep because of the very heavy nightly bleeding. Besides that, it has kept me off my moodswings, headaches, bloating, and cramping. (I am also thirteen years old, and have been going through very heavy, but regular periods for a year.) Thank You for looking at this question! :) ## Hello, Arisa! I'm sorry I didn't see your question sooner, ...
