Yutopar Aka Ritodrine Experiences (Page 2)
(Newest replies first)

Updated

My husband and I have had our daughter, which is now 30, tested for everything and the doctors can't seem to be able to give us a diagnosis, and things are not getting any better. My beautiful daughter has struggled and suffered so much and it breaks my heart to know that the Yutopar that was given to me, affected my baby. My daughter is the one who suffers from it on a daily basis. My second child is normal, and I did not take the drug while carrying him. I would really like to talk to all of you, something needs to be done to care for these kids that are now adults that can not cope. They sleep, eat, are extremely depressed, suicidal thoughts, learning problems, unable to conform to society, lies, bi-polar, anti-social, can't function in everyday life and with everyday problems. We need help. If anyone out there could possible contact me {edited for privacy}.

I am from Greece and I came across Ritodrine a week ago when my wife had a cervical cerclage on the 14th week (light surgery with light anesthesia, for 40') in order to avoid preterm birth and she was administered for about 6 hours a drip (serum with Ritordine) in order to avoid contractions after the surgery at the cervix. Immediately I searched for it and found you guys and demanded to stop the medication, which it did. She took about 1/10 of a drip and that was it. As I understand, unfortunately, still here in Greece Ritodrine may be used for situations like that. I told it to the doctor and he knew about the pill's withdrawal but not about the long-term effect on children. I am very very worried (terrified) from all the heartbreaking stories in here, since we are struggling to have a baby (and had some serious misfortunes also in the past) but as I understand it the medication you describe here was long term, right? Has anyone seen bad results in their children with less time on Yutopar? Like for a day or two? Is it possible for such a low dose and only once to cause any harm? I would appreciate any answer, although I know how painful it might be to you all. Thank you in advance.

Well, there goes my possibly the mothers age theory. Almost 35 with first and definitely 35 with second, 19 months apart.

Re: Meghan (# 151) Expand Referenced Message

I think a specialist did her daughter's blood work like an oncologist dept that specializes in blood disorders. I have a rare blood disorder that cannot be found by routine blood work so I understand the difference...coincidentally my daughter was already born and I had already taken ritodrine when this was found so I have no idea if mine could be related.

I was 23 when I had my first child but I was given Ritodrine which I understand to be the same drug.

Can I ask a personal question from the mothers that took Yutopar? What were your ages when given this drug? I was late starting a family, finally after two miscarriages, I was almost 35 with my first child.

Re: Freedom (# 155) Expand Referenced Message

I feel your pain there, my daughter literally accuses me of secretly doing things behind her back which I would never do...here lately it's every week we are talking and out of the clear blue sky comes accusations that don't make any sense...I'm just at a loss, I don't understand why. I've only tried to help her, certainly not hurt her..she's my only child. I was given Ritodrine iv in the hospital for probably a few days then switched to the oral tablets for the remainder of my pregnancy and for some reason they wanted to take her by c-section at exactly 7 and a half months. As soon as her lungs were developed they took me off the Ritodrine...she was breech also, they tried to turn her around but it wasn't happening. She also had very bad colic where she screamed her head off for 3 days which I read another parent had been through that too...odd because to me it didn't seem right.

Lawsuits are not working. It's too old of a case. Also I would just let him come to you when he can. The more you push the more he will run.

100% the psych medications can do damage to the brain. Thanks to 1 psych who overmedicated me. I have memory issues now...

I refuse to do any new medications. I'm done. I won't do TMS treatment. It's a fraud.

Re: mig (# 157) Expand Referenced Message

It is about money. Medication will not help us who been affected. Better off of it in correct therapy. And known fact that anything natural is MORE helpful.

Just wish health issues were just as easy...

Re: Freedom (# 155) Expand Referenced Message

It’s so hard to hear these harsh words from our kids when all that we want is to help them have as normal a life as possible and experience happiness for once in their lives. I have to keep reminding myself that this is the illness talking, not them. My oldest has gone through absolute hell and doesn’t want to live anymore. None of the medications have worked for him and he’s tried so many. Doctors keep saying meds are the only way to treat this, yet they do not work. Some have made him much worse. The doctors are not the least bit interested in looking at the functioning of the brain or hearing anything about pregnancy complications. Just want to hear current symptoms and pull out the prescription pad, then bring in the next patient$$$.

Re: Molly (# 104) Expand Referenced Message

Hi Molly. Did you find any lawsuits? I also suffered from kidney issues from this, autoimmune symptoms and leaky gut. I have always said I had perfect health til I took this and two of my children were affected by this drug!! I was on it many many months with my first two kids and I swore it was doing nothing and was harming me and my babies. With my 3 rd child I learned a glass of wine daily kept me from pre term labor and that pregnancy was great. I did the same with the 4th one no problem. Last two kids no issues (I am not a drinker) so this was hard for me yet I see the difference. After my first pregnancy and using Yutopar I became pre-diabetic and have suffered since and many other health issues from this stuff. It’s all adding up now.

I also took this drug and have seen these traits in both my son and daughter younger two I did not take this and I see the difference!! My oldest won’t even talk to me he has some twisted thing in his brain that tells him I did something really bad to him and yet all I ever did was help and give entire family has been confused by this and reading your article today really enlightened me and Opened doors and I now wonder with all my auto immune and other crazy stuff happening to me physically if this is the cause!!

mig (# 151) --

I know this is a continual battle. I have just become almost emotionless myself, it's just a coping mechanism I guess. I honestly don't know what I'd do if I had twins or 2 damaged by Ritodrine I guess the same thing. 1 day at a time, and enjoy their periods of well-being. And yes the cbd oil is like you say...I wonder if you have to be careful about taking it with other natural therapies. I'd say so. Or least don't take them all together.

Has anyone heard from Pat about what was done about the copper and if anything, did it help? I’ve also read that histamine levels should be checked because problems there could cause mental issues.

Mdijon (# 149) --

Check into Hemp seeds. I don’t think there is CBD in them though, there is definitely no THC. I started eating them with cereal each morning and it seems to help a bit. You can find them at Walmart in the baking section with flax seeds. Also can order online, but I wanted to give them a try before spending more money and Walmart is the only place that sells them in my area. Sounds strange I know, but worth a try. I’m battling depression and anxiety now because of what this drug has done to my children. I need to stay healthy for them and Wellbutrin doesn’t really help.

Meghan (# 148) --

Well the Copper thing is,that they found her daughter to be 100% deficient of copper which we have naturally..like most of us looking for a solution anything is worth looking into... Look up CBD oil. I get it for about twenty dollars and I use it daily.
