After that I was prescribed diamox to keep the pressure down and the doctor told me I shouldn't take recreational drugs such as cannabis or alcohol. Being a college student this is a bit of an issue because I'm going to be on this medication for the next 8 months or so. Does anyone know if taking cannabis or alcohol while on this is really that bad? Or if one is safer than the other? Thank you! ## Hello, Mackenzie! How are you? Marijuana has never been shown to react adversely with any prescription medication. Alcohol, however, can be problematic, because it can worsen the side effects and aggravate many medical conditions, so it is best to avoid it, while under treatment. However, it is always b...
Will diamox still be as effective for treating ams. I'll be trekking in nepal ## Hello, Hiker! How are you? It isn't that old, so it may still be good, you'd need to check with your doctor on that. However, the best thing to do would be to obtain a new supply, before going off on your trip to be sure that it's effective and safe. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, fatigue, drowsiness, depression and bitter taste. How often do you take it?
What issues have you had with Azopt? ## Hello, DPGirl! How are you? The FDA has approved Azopt to treat increased pressure in the eye caused by glaucoma or ocular hypertension. Its typical side effects may possibly include red skin rash, blurred vision, odd sour taste in mouth, dryness of the skin around the eyes and dry eyes. Does anyone have experience using this that can chime in?
eye drops that can be purchase without prescription for pressure or treatment for glaucoma ## I'm sorry, but there are no over the counter products available for these uses. Due to the very nature of the drugs they contain, they require a doctor's approval and supervision for use and the prescription must be filled by a pharmacy. Learn more Glaucoma details here. Are you having trouble affording your medication? If you can post back with more details, I may be able to help you find programs that can help. ## Hey Jorge, yeah sorry you need prescription. I am also rapidly gaining weight and have several more weeks to go on Durezol. 8 lbs in the first 9 days. Does it stop or just keep going up? How long did it take you to lose it? ## Hello, Liberty! How are you? Since this is a topical steroid that's just placed into the eye, you don't usually absorb enough of it to cause weight gain and the FDA doesn't list it as a known side effect of the ophthalmic solution, those typical include eye redness, trouble seeing at night, blurred vision and dry eyes. I'm not saying it's impossible, but rather that it hasn't been known to happen, so far. Have you consulted your doctor? Are you on any other medications? ## Doctor did call back today and said it's not happening. My scale and I know it is. No other drugs. No suddenl...
I have been using Simbrinza and Latanoprost for the past year. The pressure has been good but for the past month my eyes have become red and irritated and they seem to be getting worse no matter what I do. I think it might be one of the drops. ## Hi Connie, Sorry to hear about your situation. From what I could gather, both medications list "redness of the eyes & irritation" as either rare side effects or allergic reactions to Simbrinza and Latanoprost. So I'm not sure how you would go about determining which one of those medications could be at fault. My first suggestion would be to contact your doctor about this as soon as possible in order to decide whether it's safe for you to continue using or if your doctor has any other recommendations moving forward. It's ...
Hello why is there a shortage of Hypotears? I've checked CVS online and they're out of stock. Please suggest another online retailer. Thanks. ## Hi Tonket, I'm not aware of a shortage, but I have heard on several accounts that Hypotears was eventually discontinued by a number of different retailers (including Walmart, CVS, etc). I haven't figured out the reasoning behind it being discontinued, but it appears that some internet shops (such as Amazon) still carry Hypotears made by Novartis. So that may be your next best bet for obtaining some before they run out of stock at some point. Do you know what makes these eye drops any different than other similar products on the market? ## Not sure why they discontinued. They were theconly drops that work for me ## Systane Ultra ...
I have been on Nevanac for over a year. My co-pay, although high 70.00 was doable. Toady I went to pick up my meds only to find my copay, with Blue Cross is now 296.00 which I cannot afford. Could you please send me any coupons or co-pay assistance programs or I will be forced to either use a more reasonably proced product OR go off of the meds completely. I have a macular pucker/epi retinal membrane. Thank you. BTW: my normal copay for other medications is 5.00 to 10.00 with Blue Cross. ## Hi Sharyn, How are you? Just wanted to let you know that MedsChat also offers a free Rx Savings Card that can be used at over 60,000 pharmacies across the US. Due to an accident my right eye got injured ,it didnt bleed but my eye swollen, became red, wierd pain ,and as if I can see my eyelid at times. My doctor prescribed combigan eyedrop as i already have a history of glucoma,Milflox eye drop, and kefmax cv 200.Now as i researched i found out that kefmax is taken for acute infections, tonsil etc, but is it preferrable for eye disorders?

Updated in LatisseI had an IV of Jetrea 1 month ago. I was an 'ideal candidate' as the hole in my left eye was a stqge 2 hole, small, fairly recent, there was still traction and so the doctors gave me a 70% likelihood of success. One day after the IV the scan showed that the lid had come down and closed the hole but the hole was bigger. I had three days of light shows and then very grey sight thorough my left eye. Initially my eyesight was worse but over the month it has gradually improved. The hole is gradually closing and I will not need surgery. I have much improved eyesight now through my left eye. For me this medication has been a great success and I feel very fortunate to have had it. I have even blogged about my experience. The doctors who treated me were very cautious as I was the first p...
Had jetrea injection yesterday.I guess what I am experiencing is vitreous floaters. They started big time by around 4pm and 24 hours later are still going strong. They are present whether the eye is open or closed and interferes with good eye. My vision in that eye is pretty much nonexistent between the movement and the negative film appreance of objects that can occasionally be seen between floaters. My doctor said they are the result of the vitreous detaching. Does anyone know how long they will last? ## Hello, Katy! How are you? No, I'm sorry, but there's no way to give any sort of time frame, it can vary from person to person. Several other people have posted about experiencing this, as well. Have they improved, at all? ## Yes, they were gone by day 4. Went to Dr. today. Sai...
Please tell me that there is an otc dilating eye drop used as :::one drop 1 hr before arriving at surgical center, one drop 30 min before arrival time and one drop when you arrive at surgery center..I was told to use Besivance & Durezol one drop each on morning of surgery before dilating drops. Eye clinic called in my scripts but no dilating drops were called in, so I assume these are otc ## Hello, Lynn! How are you? No, you should contact them to let them know, so they can correct the problem. Is there anything else I can help with?
I have been diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea, but since my stroke in 2009 I am also having attacks of central apnea - I just stop breathing when asleep or resting flat on my back. I might add that CPAP has not helped me at all for obstructive apnea - to such an extent that the insurance co. took it away when they looked at the data stored therein. Acetazolamide is used off label to treat central sleep apnea and altitude sickness, since it seems to enhance the body's ability to maintain it's usual absorption of oxygen. So my question is this: Is there some kind of law that prevents average doctors from prescribing drugs for non FDA approved uses? Or is it insurance companies? What kind of doctor would I need to go to be treated with this drug or some other respiratory stimu...
I have very blond hair so my eyebrows and eyelashes are also very blond. I really don't know much about cosmetics but my girlfriend recommend that I try Latisse. I decided to give it a shot and the results are crazy good. I was also impressed with the information I was given by the customer support. They walked me through everything and I ended up getting a great price on the product. To my understanding there is only one product that will genuinely do this (latisse) and I recommend getting it from latisse.md ## Hello, Josh! How are you? I have been trying to find Prefrin as well. I used to use it in the 80's & early 90' then it just went away from the stores. I do know that it was made in South Ft. Worth by Alcon Labs. It is still available ???? It was the BEST eye redness relief product on the market... Thanks ## From what I've been seeing on the web, I don't think it's still being manufactured anymore. However you may want to look into what's called a "compounding pharmacy". I don't know all of what goes into it, but apparently these types of places can formulate something for you, provided that you have a valid prescription for it. The list of ingredients contained in Prefrin Eye Drops are: Phenylephrine hydrochloride (1,2 mg/mL) + Liquifilm [polyvinyl alcohol] (14 mg/mL) + Be...
