Hi my dog is on Carprofen and they have been oblong but I just got a refill and they are round and say, BP-CAR on one side and F100 mg on the other side. We do not live in the US, Rimadyl is extremely expensive here. At present I administer 25 mg twice a day to our two arthritic geriatic dogs [30 and 40 lbs]. Is there an across-the-counter drugstore substitute that would work as well? If so, what dosage & frequency? Thank you. ## I'm sorry, I am not familiar with veterinary medications. A friend just took a chewable 100mg rimadyl for c as nine use! Can I give my cat servicillin as its all I have at home and no $ for vet and he has a terrible abscess that has burst. I've been cleaning the wounds with salt n other antiseptics and nothing works. And yes, you can give him Servicillin, as long as your veterinarian approves. The dosing is usually 5 to 10mg per pound of weight given 3 to 4 times a day. It's a pink oval pill that is cut in half and scored on the MG side. I have another half that says 25 and is scored. On the other half of the 25 pill, there is a PF imprint. My vet prescribed previcox 227 mg for my dog but the pills he gave me have bp-car 100mg printed on them. Is this the same drug or did he make a mistake ## Hello, Rick! How are you and that pup? No, they are not the same medication. Previcox contains the active ingredient Firocoxib, but the one you've been given contains Carprofen. What does a RIMADYL tablet look like? After surgery, my dog was given a pill. I just found the bottle but cannot read the label.
