The manufacturer of prevacid (lansoprazole) recommends usage of this drug for up to 8 months. I have been on this for years. What studies have been done to date on long term usage of this drug? ## I have been on lansoprazole for 10 years and since then have had many problems including reactions to drugs, anaphylatic shock, arrythymia, high cholesterol, osteopenia and migraine. ## To clarify this question…. The reason they are concerned about long-term use of Lansoprazole or any of the other PPIs, is due to the fact that they were found to cause brittleness in some bones, such as those of the hip when used for longer than the recommended duration. This resulted in a large number of hip fractures among the people that took them for too long. Learn more Lansoprazole detai...

can pantoprazole cause dizznessand effect the heart rate so it runs low.? Is there any mediciations that will conflict with thiis medicine? ## Generally dizziness is something you can just assume as a side effect of most medications, there are few exceptions that aren't known to cause it. And as to the low heart rate, if you're taking this and experiencing that, then you need to contact your doctor immediately. It may mean that your magnesium has dropped to a dangerously low level, which can sometimes occur due to these PPI medications. Learn more Pantoprazole details here. As to medication interactions, I couldn't possibly list them all. However, if you post back with the specific ones that you take regularly, I'll gladly check for you. Sir, i would like to know the US FDA approval date for pantoprazole with levosulpiride combination tablets(pantocid-L). kindly reply me. ## When it comes to any medication or product, the U.S. FDA doesn't give out approval dates ahead of time, because they have no way of knowing if they will approve something. Doing so requires that it pass a lot of safety testing. Additionally, Levosulpiride has never been approved by the FDA or Health Canada, so it is doubtful that it will become available in the U.S. or Canada anytime soon. I've been prescribed pantoprazole 40mg for recurring gastritis and while I find they are wonderful at removing the gas, hunger pangs and nausea I am still experiencing the upper abdominal gnawing pain in my stomach (albeit to a lesser degree than before, but it is still present everyday). I have no weight nor blood loss and am otherwise healthy. Do I need medication changed or could something else be going on? Thank you ## Well, I myself have a lot of experience in this area, I suffered from it for years and was misdiagnosed quite a few times, until the fact that it was gastritis was actually stumbled upon by an intelligent ER doctor. Anyway, the PPI medications can actually cause that type of pain as a side effect, so that actually may be what's causing it. The same thing happe...

Hello, I was prescribed pantoprazole 40 mg to help with my stomach pain. The medicine did make the pain leave. However, after the 8 week course my doctor reduced the dose to 20 mg and told me only to take it when necessary. I was taking 20 mg for only two days before my symptoms returned and I was forced to return to 40mg. I have an appointment scheduled with my doctor soon but I am scared that I might have stomach cancer( 39 year old female). What should I expect at mh appointment. Is a relapse normal so soon after reduction in dose? Thank you. ## Well, I'd say that it isn't time to panic, calm down and relax. There are many other conditions that can cause stomach pain, that aren't stomach cancer. I have experience in this area, several years ago, I started suffering severe...

white scored round shaped tablet imprinted with K 400. substituted for Robinul 1mg for excessive drooling. ## where can i find this drug in kenya ## That is correct, this is a 1mg generic Robinul tablet and yes, it can be used to reduce salivary secretions. Since it does affect the body's ability to sweat, most of its side effects are related to that, so anyone taking it may experience fever, dry mouth, difficulty urinating and headaches. Unfortunately, I don't know if it's available in Kenya, or other countries, I'm sorry. Does anyone else know? Learn more Robinul details here.

400 mg ## I have been prescribed metadine for a tummy bug?... I would like to know more about it and its side effects ## Hello, I'm having a hard time finding any information about a medicine by the name of "Metadine". Are you referring to Cimetidine perhaps? Based on my research, Cimetidine is widely used in the treatment of heartburn and peptic ulcers and belongs to a class of medications called histamine H2-antagonists. Histamine is a natural chemical that stimulates stomach cells to produce acid. Histamine H2-antagonists inhibit the action of histamine on the acid-producing cells of the stomach and reduce stomach acid. Cimetidine was approved by the FDA in 1977. I would focus your attention on eating plenty of fruits and vegetables, staying hydrated (consistently pee clear), exercising at least an hour a day to get your lymphatic system flowing, along with getting plenty of rest each night. Also for the acidity problem, make sure the water you are drinking is...
