Does Pantoprazole manufactured by Aurobindo contain any gluten? ## It appears that both the 20 mg (NDC 65862-559) and 40 mg (NDC 65862-560) tablets contain the same inactive ingredients: - Calcium Stearate - Crospovidone - Ferric Oxide Yellow - Hydroxypropyl Cellulose - Hypromellose 2910 (3 Mpa.s) - Mannitol - Methacrylic Acid - Ethyl Acrylate Copolymer (1:1) Type a - Sodium Carbonate - Triethyl Citrate - Ammonia - Ferrosoferric Oxide - Ferric Oxide Red - Isopropyl Alcohol - Butyl Alcohol - Propylene Glycol - Shellac As such, they should not be problematic for people with gluten sensitivity unless there was cross-contamination during the manufacturing process. 4 REPLIES UpdatedI've had a running stomach for the last 2 years been on different tablets to stop it, went back to the doctor because my stomach is still running ( like yellow water ) he prescribe me pantoprazole 40 tablets since I've been taking this tablets my stomach goes out more than it use to is this normal ## Have you been tested for celiac disease? Protonix is great at treating symptoms, but people with gluten sensitivity need to be properly diagnosed and treated to resolve the symptoms. ## I assume that you're asking if it can cause stomach/abdominal bloating, as a side effect, and if so, then the answer is yes. The FDA also lists it other side effects as possibly including nausea, stomach pain, headache, and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with?

1 REPLY UpdatedMy platelet counts have been jumping down very fast at times lately, then going back up - so far. Has anyone had experience with low platelets when taking pantoprazole or another PPI? If so, how did it behave over time? So far mine are not dangerously low, but I'm nervous. ## Pantoprazole has been known to cause that in some people that take it, as a side effect, according to FDA reports, though it isn't common. Other side effects may include nausea, stomach pain, diarrhea, and headache. Are you on any other medications? Have they considered any other reasons for this to be occurring?

32 REPLIES UpdatedI have been taking pantoprazole 40mg for almost 3 months now and while it helped my abdominal pain after 1 month of use the symptoms are now returning in a milder form. I experience sharp pain in my upper left side ( stomach area), gas and hunger pains that are normally relieved by eating. Lately, the discomfort can be felt on the right side slightly also and in my left side and back. What is going on? Please advice me. ## There are no studies showing the Pantoprazole is known to be dangerous, during pregnancy, but the NIH does advise that it only be taken by a pregnant woman if no other options work, or if other options are not available. The same applies to the Domperidone in Pan D, it should only be taken if your doctor feels that the benefits to you will outweigh any possible risk. 1 REPLY UpdatedI had been having this dry severe cough for years and meeting doctors after doctors still couldn't reach to cure. One has said that I have sensitive nose and has given me budenase spray. One other have diagnosed me with lung infection after an x-ray while the public hospital I have been following through appointments have diagnosed me with gerd and laryngitis and thus giving me pantoprazole which I have been taking for 3 years and to no curing as well.
