Question, ALL I ever find on any suboxone informational website in regards to coming off of the subs are HORRIBLE....Here's the thing...I've been taking them 3 years! I got down to a quater of 8mg for a couple of weeks...then stopped. YES, it sucked...mentally mostly the first few days & not being able to sleep, but the the third to the seventh day was all stomach related and I was sleeping because I was so tired from not sleeping....By the third day, I forced myself to eat & eat right, all good foods, I FORCED myself to walk too...this all is about what everyone else said...today for me is day 19...I'm still tired, it sucks...but I get through stuff...I don't feel like it, but last week was worse when it came to being tired...but i worked & got through it......

can you receive oxycodone oxycontin morphine xanax opana after getting prescription for suboxonei wana know cuz I want my pain killers back! ## It's definitely going to be at the discretion of your doctor; whether or not he feels that Suboxone is the appropriate drug of choice for you. From my perspective, the only reason he would prescribe Suboxone in the first place, is to help get you off of those other strong pain killers. A different doctor who doesn't know your medical history or have your records on file, would be more likely to prescribe you something else, if that's what you're looking for. At the same time, I also believe that your current doctor should give you what you ask for, because you're essentially paying him for advice and for the scripts. Have you...

I do not take suboxone daily. But I took two suboxone gummy in two days. I am about 115 pounds. I was wondering how long this will stay in my system for a drug test? ## Buprenorphine.com, a non-profit division of the U.S. National Institutes of health, states that Suboxone has a half-life of 24-60 hours. This means that the drug has the potential to control opioid cravings over that time span. Half-life here means that, say, 30 hours after ingesting Suboxone, half of the active amount will be gone. This doesn't mean that 30 hours later, though, the other half will be gone. At that point half of the remainder will be gone, then another half after the same time interval, and so on, until the drug is eliminated from the body. Many medical experts agree that after about 5 half lives, th...

can cough medicine cause a false positive for benzos ? i am on suboxone and took some cough medicine and came up dirty for benzos and i have never touched them at all and know im in fear that i may lose my suboxone from this !!!! PLEASE HELP ## What type of cough medicine? There are many on the market, so I can't help you without knowing the brand name or ingredients that were in it. Learn more drug test details here. As to the test, did they send it out to an actual lab to have it tested further? Because that more precise testing should distinguish what you've actually taken and eliminated false positives. ## no they did not send it to a lab they had me come in a few days later and take another urine screen i was taking nyquil cold and cough . my urine screen was negative for b...

well that is just simply not true. Most places will not test for subs because it has to be sent away for a special test because it is only a partial antagonist and does not show up on a regular opiate testing ## Such a test wouldn't actually look for Suboxone, since it is a compound medication that contains both Buprenorphine and Naloxone, so technically your doctor is correct. To detect whether or not someone is taking it, a special test has to be used that checks for the presence of Buprenorphine and it's metabolites. Learn more Suboxone details here. My Suboxone doctor checks my levels and now wants to do a cheek swab test. How long can Suboxone be detected by swab and how long in urine? Is the cheek swab much more accurate? And if so, if I'm supposed to take 3 a day and I take 2, can he be able to tell that? ## The Buprenorphine in Suboxone is usually detectable in urine for approximately 7 days and in saliva for approximately 3. Learn more Suboxone details here. The regular instant read tests aren't going to tell him your levels of it, but there are tests that he can use to check them. Do you know what types of tests he uses?

if ur not an addict, what will happen taking 4mg of suboxone ## I took 4mg before all it did was make me feel not very good kind of a sick feeling. God Bless ## Suboxone contains Buprenoprhine and Naloxone, the latter is used to help prevent the abuse of other narcotics while someone is being treated with it, but the Buprenoprhine is a very potent narcotic opiate, so that may be a high dose for someone that isn't opiate tolerant. Thus, they'd need to know to watch for any danger signs, such as shallow breathing, severe sedation and drowsiness, extreme dizziness and vomiting and if they experience them, they should seek medical attention immediately. If taken correctly when i first start taking suboxone (first pill) will i feel withdraw symptoms or a buzz,or just normal? ## When you first start it, if your doctor has calibrated the correct dosage, you should not feel any differently. It is intended to be used to prevent the withdrawal symptoms you would experience if you tried to stop cold turkey. You may, however, experience the usual narcotic side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. You can read more on Suboxone here: Is there anything else I can help you with? ## I started on suboxone 4 days ago through a clinic. When I take my dose I don't have any bad side effects. I feel energized and just plain good. I'm not sure if this is what "normal" feels like because I've been using oxy ...

in 2005 when i was 22 i hurt my shoulder and needed surgery, i was prescribed 2 oxycontin 20 mg pills and 8 10 mg hydrocodone pills a day. in 2006 i had shoulder surgery, it was called a capsular shift. i had the tendons and ligaments shortened and re attached because the shoulder would dislocate about 10 to 15 times a day. after the surgery i was prescribed 2 opana 20 mg and 4 percocet 7.5 mg a day. for about 6 months everything was fine and i was doing good but i started to feel pain in my neck, upon my next trip to the dr they did an mri of my neck and found that i had a hearniated disc. they bumped the percocet up to 10 mg 6 times a day and left the opana at the same dose, 2, 20 mg a day. i started to feel withdrawal after a short time and if i didnt have the meds i would not only b...

Today was my second full day of being on suboxone. I am completely ready for change and dedicate to getting clean after 7 years of drug abuse. The last few years I have been using a lot of oxycodone everyday. I didn't think I could live without it. The reason I decided to make the call to the clinic was my fiancé. He had known about my problem for a while but it got to the point were he felt that he would never be able to trust me and it was causing a lot of financial and emotional problems. So I called for him. Now the problem is that he had just started using, infrequently, and now that I'm on the road to recovery it's like he is mad at me for feeling good. I feel like me being happy and not being sick is really pissing him off. He's totally stopped being su...

I took a 10mg loratab about 4 hours ago will it hurt me to Take an 8mg sub. ## It wouldn't be advisable to take Suboxone that close to having taken another narcotic. Suboxone actually contains 2 ingredients, the narcotic Buprenorphine and Naloxone, which is used to neutralize other narcotics and prevent their abuse, while someone is being treated with it. The Naloxone can throw someone into withdrawals if taken too close to their taking other narcotics, so it should only be taken when there are no other narcotics in their system, or if they are already in full withdrawals. I took a half of a half peice of strip thursday and have to go see my probation officer wednesday, will it be out of my system? ## There is a good chance that it will be, because the approximate detection time is usually about 4 to 5 days in a standard urine test. I can't guarantee it, of course, because it can vary from person to person, depending on your metabolism, your overall health, fluid intake, activity levels and etc. But as I said, the average is 4 to 5 days for most opiates. Can you pass a D.O.T. (Dept. of Transportation) physical if you are taking Suboxone? Someone said that there is suppose to be a chemical in this that would make you negative for a drug screen. Hope someone out there can help me? Thank you! ## I use to do physicals, spot drug screens etc. for the D.O.T., in Wisconsin, but I can tell you that in any state, if you have a ligitamate prescription for the medication, (I take Dexadrine for ADHD) the screen is reported as a negative screen. What they are looking for are illegal drugs, or legal controlled substances being taken by people who do not have a valid scrip from a licensed physician. What happens is that if something shows up in your drug screen, you will be called and asked to give the name of the drug or drugs you are taking. You wil...

First Question- My Urine Test Paper Said 7panel +narcotics. Would that include suboxone? Second question - I took the test at 4:15 on monday, its now Thursday night and I've heard nothing. Oxy and adderal are going to show up and I'm prescribed both. The girl at the test place said results take 48 hours. How long does the MRO have to either call me to verify prescriptions or call the employer with an answer??

will wellbutrion make you show up positive for suboxone ## While there are actually quite a few substances that can cause false positives for various opiates (such as Suboxone), the biggest perpetrators are other synthetic or semi-synthetic opiates. Wellbutrin (Bupropion) on the other hand has shown up as a false positive for Amphetamines, but not Suboxone. Have you asked your doctor about getting re-tested?

I took two drug tests while I was on suboxone everyday. Both test came up negative for drugs. You have to understand they can only test for specific drugs and unless they are testing specifically for suboxone it's not going to come up as an opioid. ## Thanks for sharing this bit of information. It really clears things up for me, as I was coming across a lot of mixed opinions on whether or not Suboxone was even tested for, since it doesn't appear to be a commonly abused drug. I've also read somewhere that the cost can be pretty high for them to check for it anyways. Thanks again! -David ## The cost isn't high at all- in fact, you can find suboxone test strips very easily for about $1.50. But you're right in that they have to be specifically testing for it and that'...

Is seven hours long enough time to take 2mg suboxone after taking one 30mg percocet? ## Probably not. Suboxone contains the narcotic Buprenorphine along with Naloxone, which prevents the abuse of other opiates while someone is under treatment with it. What that means is that you have to be in full withdrawals from other opiates, before you take Suboxone, or the Naloxone can cause you to go into severe, dangerous withdrawals. Learn more Suboxone details here. Are there any other questions or comments? ## It's not the naloxone that causes precipitated withdrawal- it's the buprenorphine. Naloxone serves no purpose other than to make it harder to abuse (shoot). You also don't need to be feeling like death- mild to moderate withdrawal is fine. Your best bet is to google COWS (Cli...

Hello. My question is related to the long-term use of Suboxone and why so many offices now charge cash for treatment. In my particular case, I was addicted to painkillers after long-term female-related issues requiring Suboxone to discontinue the painkillers. My original prescribing dr was wonderful, but retired after about 4 yrs of treating me. The next dr went into the military and closed his practice. At that point, I was taking approx. 16mg anddecided to wean down on my own. Over the past 2 yrs I' reduced my dose to 2mg, BUT now have run out of medication and the only dr in my area who will accept myinsurance cannot see me until 10/03. I also fail to see the harm in lifelong maintenance (at the very lowest tolerable dose) if it results in a normal life. I am 45 yrs old, intellig...
