I was put on suboxone after two years of narcotics from three bad and failed shoulder surgeries. I started in March, April was on 1 pill a day and May 2 weeks 1/2 pill 2 weeks 1/4 my last dose was thursday. my shoulder dislocated again and need something but I don't want to be ill. any suggestions? the pharmacist says its out in 24-36 hrs but now I don't know. any suggestions? ## The main concern is actually the Naloxone, since that is what neutralizes opiates to prevent anyone abusing them, while they are under treatment with the Suboxone. Naloxone actually has a fairly short half-life of only a little over an hour and it takes approximately 5 to 6 half-lives for something to be eliminated from the body, so it would be gone in about 6 to 7 hours. The Buprenorphine, which is the...

Hello everybody. I am from Belgium, I am 47, and it has been 6 months now that I take 24mg Suboxone per day. The doctor prescript it - exceptionally, he said - in my case for severe depression (I have a history of drugs addiction, but that was a very long time ago). Suboxone is really saving my life. I feel fine with it, I can function normally. It is really a new life to me. My new psychiatrist want me to go down to 16mg a day, but I don't. Is there any reason I should go down ? If anyone had a similar experience, I would be very interested in knowing about it. Thank you all in advance. Jo. ## hi...i also have suffered from severe depression for years..i have been on every antidepressant there is..nothing lasts...but when i take suboxone,it works wonders for my depression..i have e...

I have been on suboxone for a little while now and my doc just tapered me down to take 1 a day which was fine because I told him I was ready but then my husband and I pretty much turned our lives upside down and in the midst of moving and a pay decrease and my husband getting laid off all the stress just made my cravings go skyrocket. I went thru my 30 strip in 15 days and they were supposed to last me 30 days. They wouldn't refill early and I couldn't function without them. I ended up borrowing nine from my husband but when I finally got mine 30 strip for 30 days I had to give 9 back to my husband and stress was still there and now I'm almost out again. Just refilled on the 27th. I don't know what to do. Doc told me to call if I have any issues I've been trying to c...

I was on suboxone for 8 yrs no problems. Last year I was in the hospital for medical problem. I was given iv dilaudid and that triggered a relapse. I have been trying to get back on suboxone. Everytime I take one I getsick. The last time I tried it had been 27 hours since last opiate. Any suggestions. ## Suboxone does contain the opiate Buprenorphine, so it can cause nausea and vomiting as a side effect, as listed by the FDA. You may also experience dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. It also risks being habit forming. You also need to be in full withdrawal from any opiates, before taking it. There's no set time frame for it, just when you know you're in full withdrawal, unless your doctor has instructed otherwise. Does anyone else have any advice to add?

I am being taken off the pain clinic for severe headaches and back pain because a test showed up suboxen and I have never taken that I need to desprately find out and see if it is anything I have taken or was prescribed as I also take physk meds and tonic water for leg cramps is the only thing new that I have taken, and a addarol please help ## First, the main question is, what type of test did they do? Most regular drug tests do not show a specific medication, but just the drug class. For instance it would show opiates, rather than specifically Suboxone. A test that shows the specific drugs is much more expensive and takes much longer to perform. That said, even if they did that type of test, no, the only thing that would show up as the Buprenorphine would be Buprenorphine. There are, ...

Finally trying to taper on small dose now having a very hard time, lost my job can't stay awake so now I've been prescribed modifinal. I've read some online about it and just started today now a little scared because what I've read is that this is also addicting. Am i on another journey i don't want to be on? I don't have very good past with will power and scared it's starting all over again. Please help!!!! I have a lot of bad things going on in my life and this could be another easy way out? ## Yes, Modafanil is classified by the FDA as a stimulant, so it could also be habit forming. Its ...

I used yesterday morning half a balloon how soon can i take a sub? My legs hurt thats about it. ## Hello, Kychan! How are you? I'm not familiar with that phrase, so I am not sure what it is that you took. However, I can tell you that you can't take Suboxone, until you are in full withdrawal from everything else. The FDA lists Suboxone as containing Buprenorphine and Naloxone, the latter of which is used to block opiates, to help prevent people from abusing them, while they are being treated with it. Thus, taking it while other opiates are still in your body could throw you into dangerous precipitated withdrawals. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation....

My last withdrawl incident was so bad within 3 days I don't even remember half of what happened. ## It would be best to get medical help, to taper off slowly, that would help minimize the withdrawal symptoms, so they aren't so severe. As listed by the FDA, this medication is an opiate and its withdrawal symptoms may possibly include nausea, dizziness, chills, fever, rebound pain, headache and diarrhea. I kn...

I have been taking suboxone for four years it's helped me a whole lot, the past few days I have developed swelling in my feet and my legs u think it's caused by the suboxone or might have something else wrong with me ## Hello, Christy! How are you? Yes, as listed by the FDA, the Naloxone in it can cause peripheral edema, but you should have it checked out to be sure. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Are there adverse affects from takin suboxone and hydrocodone...im worried about my unborn nephew!! ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? I understand your concern and am happy to address this for you. First, if a woman is pregnant, she should be taking Subutex, rather than Suboxone, because the Naloxone in Suboxone may have adverse effects on the baby. Additionally, if she is taking Lortab with it, there is no reason whatsoever to be doing so. The Naloxone also blocks the effects of other opiates, so they won't have any effect or help with pain. The FDA classifies these medications as narcotics, so they have the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is her OB Gyn aware that she's taking both?

I moved to kingsport Tennessee back in August of last year and found me a suboxone Dr immediately. I then began taking my prescription to one of the Walgreens, well they kept not having them, so I found another Walgreens, well I have been using this Walgreens now for 7 months now, I finally got tenncare, and went in last week to get my subs for the first time on my tenncare for 3$ (hell yea lol) anyway, when I got there the pharmacist informs me that I can no longer get my meds filled there without a TN ID, so I immediately went to the dmv to get a state ID, and i cant get it bc my frigging married name isn't the same as my birth certificate of course, so they told me to get my marriage license, well I finally figured out how to get my marriage license without drinking 700 miles, i ...

Marijuana mixed with drugs......how can I help my son to stop with this addiction ## What is the pill he's taking and how much is he taking? Suboxone is only used to treat very serious drug addiction, such as someone that's abusing and addicted to very large daily doses of Oxycodone, or other opiates. Learn more Suboxone details here. It isn't safe to use it to treat just occasional use habits. ## Do not get your son started on Suboxone, it is highly addictive and will ruin his life, better to be on marijuana, additionally marijuana withdrawal is nothing, anyone can do it with little to no discomfort, believe me I stopped cold turkey after two years of everyday smoking. As for suboxone, I cannot get off it and it is ruining my life. I hope this gets to you in time.

I've been on suboxone for about four yrs, but the last two at this one doctor and been great for two years, not once messed up, and now they had found xanax in my system which was only a half blue one, and this last month they called and left me a reminder and everything seemed ok. well the day of my appt they called me as im driving to see them and tell me they're putting me out cause of the xanax (a month ago) and then kicked me out after they remind me of my appt. And they know im out of my med cause well thats where i was going. Bottom line, last month or whenever they i said i failed this drug panel for xanax, isnt when they were kicking me out. They remind me of my appt the day of kicking me out and dont even give last script or anything to help me. They're using somet...

Looking 4 a Dr around Corbin, Ky that prescribes suboxone and nerve meds. ## You can use the search engine on the Suboxone site to find a doctor that has the waiver to treat with it. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I'm on suboxone strips so can I start on a z-pak for my allergies? Does anyone have an answer it would be greatly appreciated. ## Hello, Panda bear! How are you? An antibiotic will not do anything to treat your allergies. They are only effective at treating bacterial infections. The FDA lists the typical side effects of them as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. If you're suffering from allergy symptoms, you likely need an antihistamine. Has your doctor recommended anything?

I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. You will most likely need to physically go to the pharmacies you called, with your prescription in hand, to get an honest/accurate answer. If you call and ask them about a medication like this, they will just tell you that they don't have it, or give you some other excuse, because it is a con...

Does suboxen show up as an opiate and can it be tested in ur hair please help ## Yes and Yes! It is a synthetic opiate, so it can be tested for, very easily. And as with any other drug, it can also be easily test for during a hair strand test. If you are having one, though, there is no need to worry, simply inform them of this, when you go in for your test. You may, however, have to provide them with proof of your prescription or your doctor's information for verification. Is there anything else I can help you with? ## Taking a urine test for new job that test for opiates, marijahna, amphetamine .
