Does California's state insurance Medi Cal cover the doctor visits on suboxone and that medication? I live in Southern California. Any information would help. Thank You !!! ## Hi Danielle, I believe you may have to contact MediCal directly for up to date information on coverage. As from what I'm seeing online, Naloxone (one of the active ingredients in Suboxone) is listed on the drug formulary that was updated on May 20th, 2015 - But no apparent sign of brand name Suboxone in and of itself; or generic Buprenorphine - the other active ingredient in Suboxone. Ref: dhcs.ca.gov/services/pages/ff.html Based on the info above, my guess is that they don't provide coverage, but for verification you can reach California's MediCal at: 1-800-541-5555 (8am-5pm Monday through Friday)...

I have been taking blue Xanax for the past couple of days and my Suboxone Dr, who I am scheduled to see on Friday, does regular drug screens to make sure that only Suboxone is in my system. I've gotten one of my friend's urine to use on Friday. Only problem is, they don't take Suboxone! Can I sprinkle some crushed up Suboxone in their clean urine to show up that I'm clean besides Suboxone? If I just use the clean urine, he will know that it's a hoax because I've been testing clean but with Suboxone and there's no way I can go without taking it. But I can't just pee my own pee, because I was made to sign a form when I started treatment with him that states that an individual who tests dirty for Benzodiazepines SPECIFICALLY will be booted out of his clinic ...

Can't seem to find any recent discussions on this subject here? It's ocrober 1 st 20014. That's why you may see that I have a question and Answer session going on with my self LOL! As much as I would have liked to have some current feedback I'm hoping this could help someone else. Well wishes to all good luck and I will try to keep posting here as I go. I believe I will be alerted if anybody replys ## Hi Omgmomma again with some good news that may help someone else someday. I'm basically answering my own question because nobody else did, in fact it seems there is not much activity for 2014 here. Now I speak from my own experience after no body got back to me I decided that when it came to the"COW" method of determining how severe your withdrawl is I definitel...

I would like to know how many others are harmed from long term suboxone use. ## I began this bc of the Devastating results from suboxone use prescribed for over 3 years...nearly dying coming off it alone but tapering and after over a year the incredible affects still bothering me mentally and physically including my kidneys, bp, memory, no real motivation....the more I know the more I can try to do something for all of us!!! ## Hello, Liz! How are you doing? I'm very sorry about the bad experience you've had. Suboxone, however, is an opiate, so withdrawals will be very tough and some effects may linger for a long time. There are risks associated with all medications, you really just have to learn everything you can about them, so you can make an informed decision on whether or n...

I've been on suboxone for about a month. Before I decided to face my addiction of over 10 years of opiate pain killers, I was on 80MG of Ms contin 3Xs daily, 40 of oxy as needed every 4 hours, Norco 10s 1 or 2 pills as needed every 4 hours, Xanax, Lyrica and a few others. First my doctor started me on 1\2 tablet 2Xs a day. It wasn't enough so he went up to 3xs a day. It still wasn't helping. He wouldn't raise it so I switched doctors. Now I'm currently at two 8mg tabs a day. Still it doesn't seem to be enough. What can I do? What is the average daily dose of suboxone? ## Hello, Jaycee! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem you're having. The maximum dosage is usually 24/6mgs a day, doses higher than that haven't been shown to have any clinical...

I recentally stopped taking pain pills and started taking sub. Ive been getting my suboxone illegally but i finally got an appointment to get into the suboxone program and im wondering if i wld even qualify since ive been taking sub illegally and my pee is clean. ? ## When I went to my suboxone dr. the first time he did not give me a urine test. I see him once a month and I have to take test on these visits. I would imagine that different docs have different policys. I,m not sure if I,d tell him that you been taking sub. but this may be bad advice, I just don,t know. Maybe another reader will weigh in on this. ## It can really depend on the specific doctor and their policies and the only way to find out is to talk to them. For proper treatment, however, it is best to just tell them ever...

I have been on suboxone strips for over 3 years. I am prescribed 2 8mg strips a day. This month I over took my prescription because they are not lasting as long as they used to. The thing is I go to a pain clinic and they are very strict due to federal regulations. I never misuse my strips (shooting up, chewing, etc) but I did take more than expected this month. I have 5 strips left to take back with me and five strips left to take but I go back to the doctor on September 14, 2011. I am really scared that my levels will be off. I do not use to get high as I suffer from scoliosis, a pinched nerve, nerve damage in my lower left leg and left foot, and I have two bad knee's that will eventually have to be replaced. Please anyone with knowledge on this matter would be great. ## Suboxone ...

I have been on 60mg time release morphine and 180mgs of oxy a day. I am off five days now trying to return to work. Been on pain pills for 6 years. My company doctor says I need to be off all meds for two months in order to return. My question is how long will it take to clear my blood, so I can take a blood-drug test? Also, I was taking tramadol 50 mgs to help wean off pain medication if that helps anyone trying to get off oxy or hydro. Ty

I cnt figure out what mg these are so i was gonna see if some of u guys could help me. ## Hi danielle, To my knowledge there aren't any suboxone tablets that resemble what an ice cube would look like. Most suboxone tablets shown on the internet are depicted as either being round or six-sided, but nothing really "square" about them… Could you please try to be a little more specific about its shape, whether it has markings, and where you might've gotten it from? I'm also curious to know why it is believed to be suboxone when there are no imprints listed to verify this? ## My friend gets them. He says they are 9mg/2mg....I have yet to see them but he's supposed to show me. I'm on 8/2 tabs

how long does suboxone stay in your blood ## It can vary, depending on how long you've taken and how much you've taken, it can take 24 hours or longer for it to be out of your blood stream. If you were taking it by prescription, though, all you have to do is inform them of this, before having the test done. Suboxone is a narcotic, commonly used to treat cases of severe, chronic pain and drug addiction. You can read more about it here: Do you have any other questions? ## My pm doctor order blood test for these things Does suboxone show up in a blood test for panel 14 or electrolyte panel or hepatic function panel 7 or lipid panel or renal function panel or cbc w different w Pitt or cholesterol or hemoglobin or prolactin or tsh 3rd generation or hcg. I'v been on Suboxone Film,8mg,for a year. Before switching to film,I was taking subutex tablets,8 mg, 3 years.Every time i'v tapered down to quit, I'v failed. I cant handle the endless hell of w/d symptoms. The last time I tapered off, 4 weeks later I was still sick as hell. So I deciced long-term maintenance was best. I didnt plan on getting pregnant, but now that i am, i need to take care of my body. Considering the agony I go thru w/d, I hoped I would get the go ahead for a dr. to stay on the med, perhaps in a smaller dose,(4mg a day). Has anyone gone thru a similar situation? ## Well, stopping completely and going through withdrawals is generally not recommended, because it may actually cause a miscarriage. The problem, however, is that the safety of the Buprenorphine be...

My friend is having a little reaction to suboxon . Tring to figure out if milk or something else could help. ## Hello, Bob! How is your friend doing? No, milk will not help an allergic reaction. The FDA lists the symptoms of an allergic reaction as possibly including nausea, swelling, hives, rash, itchiness and trouble breathing. This medication is classified as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. What type of reaction is your friend having?

My family doctor has me on tramadol 150 mg. I do take more 300 mg a day. She wants to stop the med because she thought it was short term, and did not know it was addictive. If I talk to her about suboxone.. can she prescribe that med? Or does it have to be a cash only psych Dr? ## Hello, Mj! How are you? Suboxone also contains an opiate and carries just as much of a risk of being habit forming. It combines Buprenorphine with Naloxone. As listed by the FDA, it can also cause similar side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Any doctor can prescribe it, the restrictions only apply to it being used for addiction treatment. However, as I said, it is another opiate. Have you considered seeing a pain management specialist? ## Can a family doctor prescrib...

I was just kicked out of a Suboxone program. Get this, I had been going for ten months. I sailed thru treatment. Star was the word my counsel said. I got thru phase one, I got thru phase two. Low and behold in phase three, I scored a job. Pretty impressive if I do say so myself. The trouble began when I was offered a very lucrative position. That's right this uneducated junkie actually was moving mountains. I started working mad amount of hours. So I went to program and said look. I need to be able to not miss any work over these appointments, at work they were cutting personnel. So I said bear with me for the month of February. For at work it was all a numbers game, now mind you I have sailed thru this treatment. So every time I saw my suboxone doctor he would say why are you missi...

I had a problem with opiates for 6 years. My drug of choice was Roxy 30s, and occasional OC 80 (when Roxy wasn't available). I am now 2 years clean and I am on Suboxone 8mg 4x per day. After a year of taking this, I started feeling very tired. I went for a sleep study and they prescribed Nuivigil 250mg twice a day, over the FDA's guidelines. After 6 months my moods were out of whack. I had symptoms of BiPolar, so my doctor gave me 50 mg of Pristiq. I noticed some change but after a month I was back to the mood swings. My doctor had me see an Endocrinologist. This doctor ordered blood work and noticed my testosterone was very low and prescribed a Testosterone shot every week to get my levels back up. The tiredness went away but my mood swings still were a problem. I found out tha...

I have been told that as of June first of this year Wal-Mart pharmacies will no longer be carrying suboxone anymore.when their stock runs out they will not reorder.why? ## Hello, Kerri! How are you? No pharmacy is obligated to carry any particular medication. I don't know why Wal-Mart is doing this, but if I had to hazard a guess, I'd say it's most likely due to the fact that in some areas, the pharmacist has to witness people taking it. Even if this is only necessary for their first dose, it takes time and resources away from other customers that need that pharmacist's assistance. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, diz...
