Suboxone And Lortab

Are there adverse affects from takin suboxone and hydrocodone...im worried about my unborn nephew!!

Hello, Lisa! How are you? I understand your concern and am happy to address this for you.

First, if a woman is pregnant, she should be taking Subutex, rather than Suboxone, because the Naloxone in Suboxone may have adverse effects on the baby.

Additionally, if she is taking Lortab with it, there is no reason whatsoever to be doing so. The Naloxone also blocks the effects of other opiates, so they won't have any effect or help with pain.

The FDA classifies these medications as narcotics, so they have the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Is her OB Gyn aware that she's taking both?
