My 63y/o mother survived chemo and radiation for throat cancer but was unable to stop the morphine 15mg twice a day without horrible withdrawal symptoms. Her MD put her on Suboxone 8mg/2mg once a day in June. She even took half the strip on most days and the doctor was very pleased and anticipated that she would be able to stop altogether in November. She unfortunately had a stroke 14 days ago and has been in the hospital. The first 7 days she was confused from the stroke but now she is weak and forgetful but is no longer disoriented. She told me tonight that she thought she needed her Suboxone. She said she thought she was going thru withdrawal. I was floored. She is not having any outward signs of withdrawal: no back/stomach pain, no nausea/vomiting, no sweating or tremors. Isn't ...

I have sublingual strips that have been expired for about a month now. Are they still good? ## They should be fine, especially if they are still sealed in the package. ## @Adrian, Midiman is right... they should be fine since the expiration date wasn't too long ago. Harvard Medical School did a study stating that many medications like this can actually retain their potency for up to 10 to 15 years beyond their expiration date. The shelf life of Suboxone may be listed as 3 years, but I think it's been proven to retain its potency much longer under proper storage conditions. I hope this helps! ## I take 8 mg suboxone and I only take a small piece of it and then put the rest back in the package. As long as it stays sealed and in a dry place they dont lose alot of their potency. ## ...

I took 40 mg of norco 5 hours ago I'm not an everyday user so I don't go thru withdraw how long do I have to wait to take a suboxone ## Why would you take suboxone if you don,t have wds? 40mg of Norco is really not all that much. It,s on the high end of a Drs. prescribed dose. Don,t mess with subs unless you have a serious addiction. ## Don't ya just love people that reply but don't answer your question, but instead sit on their high-horse?! Technically one should wait around 3 days- but to any user that is ridiculous! I have waited 24 hours & been ok (though I was kinda terrified!), that was only after using oxycodone for a couple of days for pain. If one has been using any opioids for extended periods I would advise waiting a bit longer if you can. ## I actually wr...

I've been taking 8 mg/2mg Suboxone strips for 1 year. I am having a molar extraction in the morning. I took my Suboxone strip this morning & the tooth extraction is tomorrow at 9:30 am. If I don't take Suboxone again before the procedure, would I be able to take Hydrocodone after the surgery? I don't want to get sick, and I am concerned of going through it with no pain medications. Any advice appreciated! ## Hi, you can use hydros after you have your tooth pulled but it,s not gonna do much. You would be better off taking extra suboxone after you had extraction. Suboxone only works for about 4-5hrs for pain relief. Of course it works much longer keeping wds away and stuff like that. I was speaking to my sub dr just the other day about this. I have addiction issues and pai...

I'm planning on having all my bottom teeth pulled and I'm currently on suboxone (16mg a day). I had my top teeth pulled 8 years ago & was given hydrocodone, which did not help my pain. I wasn't on suboxone then. It was very painful, hurt like hell. I'm scared and I know it's going to hurt, but I need advice. Since I'm already on 16mg a day, can my doctor give me extra or can the dentist? If not, can I take something else for pain? Are there any remedies for alleviating pain after teeth extractions? I know when I had my daughter 2 years ago, I was on subutex. I refused all pain meds, I had a c-section & only took 1 anesthetic (you're supposed to have 2) I refused the 2nd 1 which was for pain. I regretted it, I could feel pain & was shaking, crying....

Please help. I found this and don't know what it is? The pill is white, round and has an arrow looking thing on one side and N8 on the other. I need to know as quickly as possible please. ## Hello, Lindry! How are you? This tablet is manufactured by Hi-Tech Pharma and they list it as being an 8/2mg generic for Suboxone (Buprenorphine 8 mg / Naloxone 2 mg - NDC 50383-287). The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Inactive Ingredients: - Lactose Monohydrate - Mannitol - Starch, Corn - Povidone K30 - Water - Anhydrous Citric Acid - Sodium Citrate - Sodium Stearyl Fumarate - Acesulfame Potass...

I am prescribed lortab for a bulging disc and a pinched nerve, if I don't take anything the pain is intolerable! Sunday I had doctor appointment the next day so I had none left. A friend of mine gave me a suboxone out of sympathy. I usually don't take things that aren't prescribed to me but I trust her and had no other options. I took a drug text 5 days later for a new job. Will it show up different than lortab? I'm freaking out!! HELP! ## suboxone doesnt show up in a regular drug test they have to specifically test for suboxone so no you dont have to worry at all ## After 5 days, the Suboxone would no longer be in your system, anyway, it is processed out long before that, if you only took one. In addition, as was already stated, they would have to be doing a very expens...

I have now been on suboxone for a year, I got on it when I found out I was pregnant last January 2013 and I had my beautiful healthy daughter in August 2013 I used to be on subutex during my pregnancy but once I had my daughter I was switched to suboxone. I am on 2 1/2 strips a day and my doctor has been wanting to lower my dose however I have so much going on that I am really nervous to do so. I have lately been dealing with my daughter on my own her father just didn't show me the respect I deserved and he wasn't willing to work to support our daughter so we separated and now I am left on my own with all the finances out daughter and looking for employment which this all just recently happened since the last time I saw my doctor on top of that my daughter has medical issues due...

I took a 1/4 of a suboxone a friend had given me around 6:00 pm today. How long do I have to wait until I can take a Percocet for pain and not get it and have it work? ## 1/4 of a suboxone isn't a very detailed description how many MG's was the strip?(i know this is an old comment but whatever) ## I know this topic is a few weeks old, but I do agree with josh (post #1) in that the answer to the original thread question would largely depend on how many milligrams of Suboxone you're taking. Based on some other cases I've seen, I'd take a shot in the dark and say it may be up to a week before it's out of your body. Although several personal factors such as age, weight, diet, etc, could also influence the excretion rate. I hope this info helps! Please post back if yo...

My pharmacy recently switched to a round orange Suboxone with the numbers 970 on it and it burns my mouth pretty bad and doesn't seem to be as effective as my old ones. Has anyone else had this problem? Why does it burn? ## Hello OhioKing, Sorry to hear that you are having so much trouble with your medication. I was taking a look into it and I've read a couple of other users that said they had a similar experience. It seems that most of these stories boiled down to either an allergic reaction or that their doctor had them taking too many dosages a day and that in the end the doctor had them go from 4x a day to 2x a day. Either way I suggest that you consult your doctor immediately in case it turns out to be an allergic reaction to the medication. Burning of the mouth is definite...

I have been on valium for approximately 12 years for severe anxiety and because of a severe back problems i was also put on percocet for years. Someone told me about suboxone. They said suboxone will help with the pain. So i went to a sub doc and told him i was on valium. He did not give me a U/A till months later. Doc said you are on a benzo. l said is that the valiums? He said yes. I said i told you i was on valium. He said you have to go off them. I was told if i go off my valiums i could have a seizure. I have been off the valium for a week. I am shaking and can't sleep. I feel sick. I was doing great with suboxone and valium. Now i am just sick. Please, someone help me. ## Suboxone is not going to help pain. I took a disa drug screen and I have to call in the morning. There was a problem, and the only thing I take is suboxone. ## No judgement here but if you can show them that you have a script for suboxone then you'll be totally fine. I assume by your concern that you don't have one? Like I said, no judgement, just trying to get more info for your question. ## I have looked everywhere for an answer to this and have found very little. Did you ever find out if the suboxone showed on the drug screen for disa/if they specifically test for it?

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has any information or experience with the Suboxone implant and if so, would you please share any & all information with me as I am extremely interested in possibly having one implanted in my arm. If I could possibly have one implanted, seems it would be very convenient and eliminate several issues associated with simply being a Suboxone patient. Thanks in advance for any information given. ## The implant Probuphine contained Buprenorphine, but not Naloxone, so it was equivalent to Subutex, not Suboxone, and it was removed from the market in 2020. The FDA warns that Buprenorphine carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, and constipaton. Hi. I am having a procedure done and am being prescribed vicodin. I am currently on suboxone. I WILL NOT take the vicodin unless I am in excruciating pain. Would suboxone help with the pain? And if I do have to take the vicodin how long should I wait to take it after taking suboxone? THANKS! ## Vicodin will not do anything taken with the Suboxone. Suboxone contains an opiate neutralizer to help prevent you from getting high and taking other drugs while under treatment. Vicodin is also nowhere near as strong as the Suboxone, so it will be liking taking TicTacs for your pain in comparison. Suboxone is a narcotic, so it will help with the pain and you should be fine with just that. ## Suboxone does not help relieve any pain what so ever. I am on suboxone, but if you have to take vicodin yo...

need to kno if i can take 4mg suboxone ang 50mg phenergan? ## My findings state that there are potentially unsafe interactions that apply to the active ingredients in each of those medications. Quoted below are the precautions you should be aware of: "Using promethazine (phenergan) together with buprenorphine (suboxone) may increase side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating. Some people may also experience some impairment in thinking and judgment. You should avoid or limit the use of alcohol while being treated with these medications. Avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how the medications affect you. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. My Bruce is taking suboxone for a week .. 8mg 2 times a day she had an accident has severe pain needs to go back to percacet for a bit .. Her last sub was at 4:30 today what time can she take pain med? Then after she relives major pain in few days she wants to go back to suboxone when after her last dose of percacet can she go back to suboxone without withdrawals ? ## I had surgery and was told by both the surgeon and the Dr. That gives me the Zubsolv...You need to be off the Zubsolv for 3 days before surgery so that the pain medication can work. The 3 days I was off the suboxone/naloxone I felt a little shaky, but that's it!! I don't think it's a good idea to take the pain med so soon. ## Yes, it takes several days off of Suboxone for pain medications to work for you, again...

what kind of withdrawals will i have when I stop taking Suboxone? ## Your doctor should help you taper gradually to avoid the worst of the withdrawal symptoms, however, it is an opiate, so you will experience withdrawal effects just like stopping any other narcotic if you stop abruptly. ## Gosh, I hope someone out there will see this post and answer your questions because I have just started the suboxone also and the doctor wants me to stay on them for a good while. What will it be like when I want to come off these pills?? I have been takin only up to 30 mg of percocet a day for the past eight months, I know that don't sound like a lot but I tried to quit and couldn't handle the withdrawals so I bought five suboxone 2mg and I'm wondering how I should go about treating myself, I want to be done with this, my life has turned upside down. Please help ## In reality, Suboxone is probably far too strong of a medication to be used for this, it is generally only used for people with severe addiction problems, that have been doing drugs and steadily increasing the amounts of them that they've been using for years. Doctors are also specially trained in the use of Suboxone, because the initial dosage has to be carefully calculated, to prevent withdrawals and then slowly tapered, over time, to enable ...

According to Dr. Al Sears, MD. he wrote an article that spoke of: "Most poisons in your body are attracted to charcoal even prescription drugs. Since your body reacts to most prescriptio...
