I am starting Suboxone after using oxy for over 3 years after being a college and after college drunk for 8 years. So 11 years of being additcted to something and now I move to Suboxone. However I am reading that alot of people use suboxone for months and months, but i'm planning on going for just a month or so. Some may laugh, but i cut cold turkey oxy after I ran out on my honeymoon. That is a pathetic story. I had a plan to quit before my wedding and am a successful 30 year old self employed contractor, and just kept delaying and of course I run out on my honeymoon thinking I had enough but the extra walking around Greece and Italy led me to making phone calls home to try and get it sent to me by my friend (which I think was illegal) and then I spent part of my day in Santorini w...

Does the Suboxone pill with 5721 on it taste like oranges to anyone else? ## No. I just googled the exact question, then put them in my mouth and are completely DIFFERENT tasting. The round white pill 5721 is almost like an Altoid, although I just brushed my teeth before I took the dose, so that may affect my tasting. Your answer is no. ## The inactive ingredients in this tablet were listed as: acesulfame potassium, citric acid anhydrous, corn starch, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, mannitol, povidone k30, trisodium citrate dihydrate. So. it's possible that the citric acid can cause a slight citrus like taste. The FDA also warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and const...

Me and my boyfriend were taking 30 mg of methadone every day for a year or so, and decided to go the suboxone route. His Dr told him as long as he was taking 30 mg a day he was ok to dose... ha!!! Oh my god we got so sick, him more than me, we are now on our 4th day and I feel fine, actually just normal, don't feel medicated, but he still can't shake the sickness, he says he had no energy, sick to his stomach, anxiety, depression, I don't know what to do. He had tried taking a small about 2mg and still feels the same as when he takes 8mg. Could it still be the methadone? Is there any relief? We have kids and jobs we have to be here for. Anyone with any experience please please please help. Thanks ## Who ever your Dr is needs his head checked..it don't matter how much meth...

I am taking 8mg of buprenorphine a day but the doctor tested me for it this week and said it did not show up. He then did a dip strip that is supposed to be 99.9% effective but it did not show up on there. Now he is sending the test out to a lab. is there any possible reason it would not show up? I suspect I have a UTI or yeast infection could that make it not show up? I am afraid they are going to kick me out of the program and need to know if there is any medical reason it would not show up. He is kind of old and sometimes confused so I do not really trust him to research possible reasons and would like to be able to show him something about why this might happen. ## I just had the same situation. My dr told me my urine did not show sub when I take mine daily without fail. He was yell...

If you are struggling with getting off Suboxone successfully, you may want to take the time to read this. I have read a ton of hype about Suboxone being impossible to get off. How the withdrawal symptoms carry on for days, even months. Below, I would like to encourage you and let you know that it can be done. I AM LIVING PROOF YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH THIS FEAT!!! I have been free of Suboxone and all other drugs and alcohol for 3 months and I have never felt better in my life!!! THE WAY THAT SUCCESS HAPPENED FOR ME AND CAN HAPPEN FOR YOU: For months I read Suboxone blog sites in the effort to gather some element of hope that would encourage me to make the “jump” to get off my final 1/8 tab (1mg) of Suboxone. At the point I started reading these blog sites, I had come down from 2.5...

For those of you who have been seeking a Suboxone program in Southwest Louisiana, I have some good news to share for the ones who aren't aware of the expansion approved by our state. There are now more options & many more physicians & also Nurse Practioners who are licensed to prescribe Suboxone and they also accept Louisiana Medicaid. Many of them are also accepting new patients in the Alexandria/Pineville area, also the Lake Charles area which is in Calcasieu Parish and in the Lafayette, La area, as well. ## Ho can I find these Doctors ? I live close to BR and I have been driving to Jefferson Parish. I am disabled and between the gas and visit I end up paying almost 200.00 plus each month. I am sure that it will be cheaper being on SSI & SSI. I have never used any ille...

I need some advice. I started taking Suboxone films last November. I am on 20 mg. a day. Ever since I started these films I noticed that underneath my tongue became sore, like it swelled up and had little bumps underneath. Per my pharmacist, I tried putting it in between my cheek and gum on the bottom, but the same thing happened. It's getting to the point that if I eat anything hot or spicy, it stings like crazy. Even the suboxone stings a little. I don't want to get my whole mouth sore, so I am keeping it underneath the tongue. In the morning my tongue is swelled and it's difficult to talk right, especially saying "s". I told my doctor when it first started happening, but he didn't think much of it. Anyone else have this problem? What should I do? ## It is diff...

who has been suboxone CVS or walgreens.I know thwy are generic but which is better of the two ## You're really asking a subjective question, because a generic that works well for one person may not work that well for you and vice-versa. What you really need to discover is which one works best for you. Learn more Suboxone details here. Have you had problems with any that you've tried? ## Walgreens or CVS has the exact same thing when it comes to suboxen, not sure what dose you are on but an 8mg suboxen strip will have 6mg of buprenorphine and 2mg of naloxone. ## The difference between the two.... Walgreens has the orange generics and cvs has the white generics. I had both and imo, they're exactly the same. But if I had to choose, I would go with walgreens only bc in my head I...

I've been abusing vicodin and percocet for over 7 years. I'm fed up with it all, but terrified BEYOND TERRIFIED of telling my doctor about it, for fear of losing my kids. I turned to a friend who takes Suboxone and she is helping me enormously......I'm on day 4 of only 4 mg per day. Anyone know if I go through the "proper channels" if I will lose my kids over this? I'd much rather be doing it under a doctor's care, but my friend helping me was pretty blunt and said that she had to LIE about the amount she was taking in order to get help in the first place. I've tried cold turkey many times and got scared to death when it lasted for more than a week...normally withdrawals were only lasting me a few days. I'm in over my head, and trying everything in my...

Hi, I been on suboxone for 3 years and I'm on 3 strips a day, my insurance Aetna better health the worst company out there would pay 6 months at a time then my Dr would have to send them papers and this time they don't want to cover it, all they tell me on the phone is Aetnas pharmacy said it's not needed, and the Dr might not be sending the paper work they need, my appointment is Monday and I have not been able to get a hold of my Dr. My appointment cost 110 and I was just seeing does anyone know how much the generic brand is, even if I have to try to go down to 2 a day, or is there another option. I'm out of work due to illness and I don't know how I'm going to be able to get it but any information would be so helpful even if I have to buy a little at a time, t...

My 63y/o mother survived chemo and radiation for throat cancer but was unable to stop the morphine 15mg twice a day without horrible withdrawal symptoms. Her MD put her on Suboxone 8mg/2mg once a day in June. She even took half the strip on most days and the doctor was very pleased and anticipated that she would be able to stop altogether in November. She unfortunately had a stroke 14 days ago and has been in the hospital. The first 7 days she was confused from the stroke but now she is weak and forgetful but is no longer disoriented. She told me tonight that she thought she needed her Suboxone. She said she thought she was going thru withdrawal. I was floored. She is not having any outward signs of withdrawal: no back/stomach pain, no nausea/vomiting, no sweating or tremors. Isn't ...

Why do you think docs prescribe Suboxone or Methadone for opiate withdrawal, make patients stay on it until they are completely addicted to it for years, then have to treat them to come off it? Why don't they treat a 5 day opiate withdrawal with a benzo to sleep, clonidine, gabapentin, trazodone for a week or two instead. It would sure help society not be addicted to Suboxone. Worst drug ever. ## Most people, even if they are addicted, can't just take a ton of medications to try and sleep through their withdrawals and be out of work for that length of time. Treatment with Suboxone or Methadone enables them to still work and be productive, while undergoing addiction treatment and, unlike Methadone, Suboxone usually enables most people to eventually become completely drug free, al...

Can zopiclone and suboxone be taken together. I have been on zopiclone for years and just about to start suboxone for ptsd and chronic pain ## Hello, Julie! How are you? While they can be taken together, in theory, and should only cause more dizziness, drowsiness, and nausea, than taking them alone, according to the NIH, Suboxone can be very tricky, so it would be best to double check with your doctor to be sure. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have been on zoplicone for 7 years and started Suboxone 20 days ago. I noticed I only have to take half the dose I use to and it works just as good if not better for helping me sleep as the full dose did. ## The white oblong 10mg and 20mg tablets are generally counterfeit. Nothing in them.

I'm needing to find a Suboxone Dr in Arkansas that will accept Medicaid. Or at least has some type of payment plan help. Also, can you use Arkansas Medicaid at a Suboxone Dr in Mississippi? ## Medicaid will not pay for opioid addiction or dependence treatment in Arkansas unless the provider is an RSPMI provider. There is one in Heber Springs but you must have a referral from your Medicaid PCP. Jonesboro Clinic (870-932-6883) sees patients who have Medicaid and charges reasonable fees. ## I need a Suboxone doctor in Little Rock that accept qualchoice insurance ## I desperately need a doctor to treat me for panic disorder (Ativan) and opiate addiction (Suboxone). I can never find a dr. for both. I live in West Memphis, Arkansas and I have Arkansas blue cross. ## I had a Suboxone Dr wh...

I have sublingual strips that have been expired for about a month now. Are they still good? ## They should be fine, especially if they are still sealed in the package. ## @Adrian, Midiman is right... they should be fine since the expiration date wasn't too long ago. Harvard Medical School did a study stating that many medications like this can actually retain their potency for up to 10 to 15 years beyond their expiration date. The shelf life of Suboxone may be listed as 3 years, but I think it's been proven to retain its potency much longer under proper storage conditions. I hope this helps! ## I take 8 mg suboxone and I only take a small piece of it and then put the rest back in the package. As long as it stays sealed and in a dry place they dont lose alot of their potency. ## ...

I started Suboxone four days ago. I am taking a whole 8 mg Suboxone twice a day. I also take 45 mg of Adderall a day for ADD and I need the Adderall because I am a college student. Is it harmful to take them together? The Suboxone has done excellent for me, and has kept the Oxycontin out of my mind. I got addicted to tabs when I was playing college baseball in order to play through two broken fingers and bum shoulder. So instead of doing a gut check time dealing with the pain through an ice bucket or taking some time off to heal up, because I was just a freshman and I was battling it out for starting spot with a all-conference senior. I became immune to the tabs, so a player introduced me to Oxycontin. I was taking 80 mg a day. This continued into the fall season of my sophomore year un...

Im getting suboxone from one dr. And xanax from my pcp. Well sub dr. Doesn't allow it. Ive suffered with anxiety and panic attacks for 30yrs. ## Most doctors that treat with Suboxone are not going to allow it, since Xanax is very commonly abused and can be habit forming. And a doctor that treats with Suboxone can't prescribed Xanax, under the new regulations that were put in place last year. You'd actually need to see another specialist, most likely a Psychiatrist. These medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, irritability and headache. What else have you tried to treat your anxiety and panic attacks? There are non-habit forming options, such as SSRI antidepressants. ## I am looking for a new pcp can...

My friend was on 8mg of Suboxone for 8 years. Her doctor cut her back to 2.5mg on the last week and then cut her off due to Methadone use as well. My friend had taken pills during the duration of the Suboxone and also takes Methadone. What can I do to help her with withdrawal like symptoms, or what should I look for? ## In this situation it sounds as though one of the best things you could do for your friend is assist her in seeking some sort of substance abuse treatment. As far as symptom monitoring I would note anything indicative of w/d such as diarrhea, vomiting, insomnia, back pain, headache, irritability, restlessness, anxiety, sweating and the like. In her case I would also watch out for possible overdose should she get her hands on some drugs; pin-point pupils, shallow or no bre...

Does anyone knows if taking Phentermine (diet pill) and Suboxone is harmful in anyway? ## I'm not finding any contraindications listed that states they cannot be used together. However, this site is not medical professionals, so you should check with your doctor or pharmacist to be on the safe side. Is your doctor aware that you are taking both? ## No problem taking the two together. I have been on Suboxone for two years, and my doctor just started me on Phentermine. Also, I checked with the pharmacist before filling. If you have heart trouble or very high blood pressure, you should be monitored however. ## I know this question is old, but for anyone who may be looking for the answer. Yes you can take suboxone & phentermine together. Ive gained 45lbs on the suboxone & I have...
