I have been taking this medication for pain for about three or more years now, I have notice that everytime I take this medicine I get shortness of breath and have problems with my chest just thought it was me never even told my doctor about this. I was just telling my husband this morning about this and he told me why haven't I be saying something about this just thought it was know big deal. Looking back now I know why I was having a lot of spasms all the time. Why has synap forte been described as dangerous ## Because it contains Dextropropxyphene and it, as well as its cousin Propoxyphene have been proven to be cardiotoxic. They can cause irregular and unstable heart rhythms, this has resulted in hospitalizations and even several deaths. It has also been pulled from the market in the U.S. Are there any other questions or comments?

I am having severe back pain. can I take 2 tablets at night? One is not helping. ## Well, you should be made aware that all products containing Propoxyphene have been pulled from the U.S. market by the FDA. It has been shown to cause severe cardiac problems, some of which, have even been fatal. In light of this, I have to say no, it is not safe to use and you should consult your doctor for an alternative and any remaining tablets of this medication should be properly disposed of. I have back pain. Doc prescribed Proxyvon and PAN 40mg. I want to know if they are simply pain killers. I was just informed that my random drug screen at work came back positive for propoxyphene (Darvocet). I was taking percocet because i had just had a miscarraige and was also given demerol and phenergan in the er during miscarraige. My work is aware that I had been taking those drugs but they did not show up in urine screen only the darvocet. Could the percocet show up as darvacet by mistake? Why would a drug I have never taken show up while the ones I was on and have prescriptions for did not? please help. ## This has been occuring a lot recently.
