steroid ## I would like to get as much information about the side effects of predizone possible. My sister had a rare phmonia and was on predizone for a couple years at, I think about 75mgs a day. She has completely changed personality wise. Very angry and mean spoken, just a complete 360 from her old self. She has been off of the drug for almost 18 months, but her attitude has not changed. Is there any drug she can take to counter act the damage left behind by predizone? I have a twelve year old son with cystic fibrosis recently prescribed Prednisone 20mg. The prescription is to take 2 tablets twice a day. does drug have anything to do with breaking out ## I have always had ezcema, but have always been able to control in, recently i had a skin reaction to my face only which left me with horrible case of blotched and raised red lesions,and very itchy, didn't know what happen, I have never had this before so in freaked me out.....went to hospital emergency dept and was given IV fluid of steroid 200mg, was then prescribed a dose of 25mgx5 tablets first day then decreasing dosage over a 7 day period, it worked great , however 2 days after finishing tablets my face just felt like it was on fire and very red. Prednisone was prescribed for inflammation and servere allegy. The internet is a great source of info so found out that maybe I have an underlying conditon, like, the need for cortison...

I was Rx Prednisone 10 mg x 48 tablet. The Lot number is L043E08A Expires 04 11. Can you explain the expiraton date? ## April 2011? Some pills just have a longer shelf life than others, the expiration is really only required by the FDA to make sure that these pills are used within the time frame that they have maximum effectiveness. After that date, the active ingredients can start to break down and the effectiveness of the medication is reduced. ## I have 10 mg. prednisone tablets which expired 2008. Are they safe to take?

I am currently taking 15 mg if prednisone for a stemtic form of arthritis. Is sleepness one of the side affects. ## Sleeplessness isn't specifically noted as a side effect, but Hyperactivity is. Hi. I'm now on prednisone but I took it at night instead of morning as on the instructions. And I took only 5 not 6 pills. Does any of this make a difference? ## Correction I'm on Prednisolone ## Not taking the correct dosage can definitely make a difference, as you may not be getting enough of the medication to actually clear up the condition being treated. What did you take only 5, instead of 6, as instructed? As to the time of day, that isn't really significant, as long as you spread the doses out properly. If it says to take 6 the first day and 5 the second day, then that means you should keep them 24 hours apart. Cant sleep while on this medication! Can I take a sleeping aid? Tyenol PM or advil PM ## Can't sleep on prednisone what can I take yo)to. help me ## I would recommend staying away from the Advil/Ibuprofen, because it is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and taking it with the Prednisone can seriously increase the risk of developing stomach problems, such as bleeding ulcers. There are, however, no interactions listed between taking the Prednisone, with the Tylenol PM, which contains Acetaminophen and Diphenhydramine, but you may want to double check that with your pharmacist to be certain. Are there any other questions or comments?

found tiny pink pil in sons pants ## my daughter found this tab on our rug. It says west-ward 475 all on one side. It is small,round and white. ## Based on the descriptions provided, the most feasible match is a white round scored pill with the imprint West-Ward 475 on it. (Sorry, could not find that imprint on a pink pill). Anyways, per the manufacturer this is reported to be PREDNISONE 5 mg [1]. Do you have any other questions or information to add?
