If anyone else is experiencing this junk hydrocodone by Mallinckrodt please complain to the FDA and also to the headquarters of whatever pharmacy you use. I find it absolutely crazy that this seems to be the only brand on the market anymore. You may as well just take a Tic Tac because these things do absolutely nothing for pain. ## Not every generic medication works well for everyone that tries it, unfortunately. It has also recently been discover that the inactive ingredients may not be as inactive as they originally thought according to this Science Alert article. As far as I'm aware, it is not the only product available, however, they might be the company that has most recently been offering the cheapest price through your pharmacy's distributor. The FDA warns that this medic...

Yes having the same problem. I have four herniated discs and the original OC 80 would do the job but OP's to come close to doing the same job your talking twice the dose easily. Any info would be awesome ## Hello, Unfortunately I'm having trouble finding the answer to your question on the web, I even checked the FDA site and wasn't able to find any information on the topic. I read a report from 2011 that Purdue pharma stopped making Oxycontin..but that I'm to sure if anything has changed since then. Have you checked with any local pharmacies? Since they are the ones who provide medication, they would very likely know what is/isn't in stock at this time... You may even try contacting Purdue Pharma, it never hurts to go straight to the source! If you have any more ques...

I am a 50 year old woman in severe pain due to a degenerative disc disease, something I was born with and has progressed to the point to where I am unable to stand, walk or sit for very long without medication. I recently was accepted by the Social Security dept. as a disabled woman due to severe pain. My Dr. Has prescribed oxycodone 30 mg 4 times a day for break through pain and OxyContin 80 mg. 3 times a day for long acting pain. The medications help but the fear of my future haunts me every minute of the day. Every month I attempt to get my prescriptions filled. most months I go to 6-8 pharmacies, with them all telling me No, the dose is too high I'm not comfortable filling that or, we just don't carry that drug. 2 months ago I was placed on Walgreens "Good Faith Policy a...

My husband has been relentlessly trying to fill my scripts for over a week, spending hrs on end daily, going from Parmacy to Pharmacy, with no luck. I've had CHRONIC pain for near 8 yrs from car accident, where I was sole survivor. I've never had a problem filling my medications until now. I can NOT function without them and have no hope of any quality of life without the assistance of these. My pain is unbearable and I can't stand that my children have to see me in pain. It's humiliating for my kids to see me cry, struggling to do simple tasks. I REALLY NEED FOR SOMEONE TO HELP ME find a Pharmacy that has in stock in Sarasota FL. I've even called my Dr to see if they could change my scripts, so I don't have to be in so much pain, and apparently he's out of t...

for the last 7 years I have been on Norco 10's got to the point I was taking 12 to 15 a day, it got to the point that they stopped working for me so my dr. put me on morphine er 15mg 3x a day with 30mg instant release 4x a day im new to morphine but have a very high tolerance to opiots, im just wondering if I made a good switch. I remember when the Norco made me feel great but I have yet to take two 30mg i.r. at once to see if that was a pleasant feeling, anyone have some helpful advice in this area? thanks ## Hello, Charles! How are you? The reason you aren't getting that same effect from the Morphine is because it's time released. The Norco was released all at once within 15 to 20 minutes of taking it, but the Morphine is slowly released into your body over a period of abo...

I started taking Zohydro for my chronic pain last night. I had the first full nights sleep I've had in many years. I woke up refreshed and was able to get some housework done today. It's sad that people will die from abusing this drug, but then some of them chose this path knowing the risks. I did not choose to have this debilitating pain. For me and others like me it is a Godsend. It's not that easy to obtain. Once prescribed it has to be approved by the government which takes about a week. Then the pharmacy has to order it. It's expensive even with insurance. For me, $177 a month as opposed to $10.17 a month for Norco. ## Hello, Cindy! How are you? I'm glad that it's working well for you. It is a time released formulation of Hydrocodone. This is a narcotic anal...

Hi. I have gum infection due to my wisdom teeth. I am pregnant so I can get them extracted now . But my dentist prescribed Tylenol and amoxicillin now the question is my gum turned red like it was bloodshot after my first dosage of the antibiotics then the next day I discovered that it became really soft and had like a pulse... few hours later blood and what not came out of the pulse and it felt numb like I wasn't feeling any pain again but it's still swollen a bit . Is that it healing? Or I should be worried ## It sounds like you had an abscess infection, and it drained. I experienced many of them, myself, before I finally got rid of all my teeth and got dentures. You should definitely finish the antibiotics, and consult your doctor, or dentist, if you experience any other prob...

My daughter has been taking hydrocodone 5/325 every 4 hrs since Thurs afternoon. 24 hrs ago, her dr moved it to every 6 hrs, and she took her last one at 615pm last night (it's now 1250a). Can you switch to extra strength, OTC acetaminophen now (500mg tabs)? Or should we wait longer after her last hydrocodone dose? Please advise. Thank you! ## You can take up to 3000mg of acetaminophen in a 24hr period. Anymore than that should be under a doctor's care/advice. ## According to the FDA, their 'liver warning' goes by a maximum daily dosage of 4,000 mg within a 24-hour period. This is not to say that you shouldn't consult with your doctor first, but it should allow for substantial flexibility in your dosing. If you're currently taking 1300mgs a day (325mgs four times...

My father in law takes 120 milligrams a day or 4-30 milligrams a day and is looking for pain management doctor who is willing to prescribe that amount for him. The only ones he's been able to find only want to do half of that. Does anyone know of any good doctors around there? He used to go to a doctor in northern Az but they quit the pain management program and now he has to transfer to Phoenix. Thank you! ## Advanced pain management in Chandler.

I can't believe how hard these doctors are. Is it the doctors or govt. I fly back to FL every month to get my 180 30mg roxi and 60mgs 2X a day. ## It is the government, new regulations were put in place this year that restrict which doctors can prescribe what medications, how long they can prescribe them, how much they can prescribe and why they can prescribe them… and of course, they are all concerning controlled substances. If you are currently living in Phoenix, then no doctor in Florida should be prescribing you such medications and no pharmacy there should be filling them for you. You should live within a certain radius of both the doctor and the pharmacy. Continuing to make this trek to get these medications could cause you to end up getting flagged and that may cause yo...

Given that federal law permits generic pharmaceutical manufacturers to diminish principle ingredient(s) by as much as -20% (i.e. minus 20% as compared to the principle amount in the original or "brand" version), I am attempting to find a generic producer of Percocet that has proven to be more effective for others in situations like or similar to mine. Due to a hard fall, I sustained an injury called spondylolethesis (i.e. shifting vertebrae) from L4, L5, & S1. Corrective surgery was required involving a vertical abdominal incision below the navel and two low-back incisions on either side of lumbar spine to allow installation of the appropriate orthopedic spine hardware (e.g. screws, rods, posts, etc.). Since the post-op pain has only increased from surgery 2 wks. ago, and th...

Alvogen Percocet (generic manufacturer) has worked very effectively for me, for 9 years. I am in search of this particular generic brand in the Palm Beach, FLA. Area. My Publix pharmacy does not stock this brand anymore and thus switched to a different generic brand.

I found A white Oblong/oval pill that has a 20 inside a V on one side then on the other side it is scored in half with an S on either side ## This pill is a 20mg Instant Release OxyContin. It is a very strong pain reliever that is used medically and recreationally. Wikipedia oxycontin to learn more about it. ## This particular tablet is listed as only being available in Canada, and manufactured by Sandoz Canada. If anyone could help me with just these two...Rhodes or Endo - as those are the only choices I have for right now, I'd greatly appreciate it. I take 7.5mg Percocet and the pharmacy I usually go to does not have what I've been taking, so now I only have the choice of Rhodes or Endo, and that is it. Thanks for any help in this matter. Take care. ## I wanted to add that I tried the Rhodes 7.5 and they did not seem to work as well as what I've been taking. So, that leaves only the, Endos. I cannot remember if they're suppose to work all that well or not so I need your help. Rhodes and Endos are the Only two choices I have, as they're the only one's the pharmacy's near me have. Have out of date oxycodone prescribed to me in the past. Instead of going back to the doc an getting charged $700 is it safe to take them. ## Most solid form medications, such as tablets and capsules containing powder, do not become dangerous once expired, but they can lose effectiveness, so they may not work as well as they did, when new. Thus, it is actually best to dispose of them, and see your doctor for a new prescription, if one is needed. The FDA warns that Oxycodone carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. $700 is a lot to be charged for a doctor's appointment. I have been prescribed Oxycodone 15 mg tabs for my chronic pain. My pharmacy, when in stock, carries Alvogen brand. I have absolutely no issues with this brand. They are very effective with easing my pain. That is what it is intended for. Not to feel high as a kite. So for those who suffer from LEGIT chronic pain, this should be just as effective as other brands. ## Your comment is extremely upsetting. I suffer from chronic pain and have been on Roxane brand oxycodone until this last refill that is Alvogen. As a stay at home mom, I cannot stand a loopy drugged up feeling because I have many things to do with and for my son. I have taken several doses now and it is absolutely horrible. I get more of the drugged up feeling with it than normal and I have no pain relief. I could barely walk...

My doctor prescribes me Suboxone 8/2 mg film and Norco 10/325 mg together for pain relief and to prevent addiction. I personally feel more pain relief from both together rather than one or the other. And doing research I found that a few patients get my results from both simultaneously having something to do with the brain receptors. Any feedback and/or where I can find any web information. I have lost where I found the research. Thanks. ## Hi John, My findings state that there are actually potentially unsafe interactions between Hydrocodone and Suboxone (buprenorphine/naloxone). Quoted below are the precautions you should be aware of: "Using Hydrocodone together with Naloxone can reverse the effects of Hydrocodone. If you are a physically dependent patient you may experience withdr...

I just moved here to the suburbs of Atlanta (Woodstock) from NJ and I am having a very difficult time finding a pain management doctor. I currently take 90mg of oxycodone and 60mg of methadone for chronic neck and back pain. Two of the doctors that were on my BC/BS provider website told me that they could not treat me and made me feel like I was on a high amount of pain medications. In NJ my pain management doctor had been prescribed that amount for years and I never got the impression it was a big deal. But here in Georgia it looks like I am going to have some problems. Can anyone out there recommend a good pain management doctor in the Woodstock Georgia area that is not afraid to treat a person that has legitimate pain management issues.
