Have out of date oxycodone prescribed to me in the past. Instead of going back to the doc an getting charged $700 is it safe to take them.

Most solid form medications, such as tablets and capsules containing powder, do not become dangerous once expired, but they can lose effectiveness, so they may not work as well as they did, when new.
Thus, it is actually best to dispose of them, and see your doctor for a new prescription, if one is needed.
The FDA warns that Oxycodone carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.
$700 is a lot to be charged for a doctor's appointment. Was is a specialist, or a general practitioner?
