Any help would be greatly appreciated ## I took 36mg of suboxone And that was all when I took them! ## Technically you should be able to take the Vicodin, if your doctor approves, if it's been more than 72 hours. However, some people have reported that it took longer than that. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I was on one fourth of an 8mg strip of suboxone for a yr. Now it's been 3 weeks off. I have had foot surgery but the vicodin is not...
Just trying to find out what the PUR on my oxycodone bottle means. I'm guessing it's a form of sustained release, but just wanted to know the medical terminology. Thanks! ## That stands for the manufacturer, which in this case would be Purdue Pharma. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possible including nausea, headache, dizziness, drowsiness, constipation, and dry mouth. It also carries the risk of being habit forming. Currently, Oxycontin is only available from this manufacturer and it is only available as a time released formulation. Is there anything else I can help with?
My mother was taking this medication after surgery yesterday and has not slept at all. Could this be contributing? ## While this medication usually causes dizziness, and drowsiness as side effects, according to FDA reports, there are some rare occasions where it has been known to cause the opposite. It can energize some people and cause insomnia. If it persists, she should consult her doctor about trying something else. Is she on any other medications, or just this one? What type of surgery did was done? ## More typos! Woohoo! I am on an epic roll, tonight. Sorry! I mean to ask what type of surgery was done?
How long does morphine sulfate 15 mg ir last? I take 2 a day. I also take morphine sulfate 30 mg er 3 a day. I'm confused as to when I am supposed to take the morphine sulfate it. It only seems to last 4 hours and the morphine 30 mg er seems to last no more than 7 hours. I can only stand and bend for 10 minutes or less until I'm in excruciating pain. My pain Dr. Only sees me once every 6 month's. I've had a spinal fusion & fractured back and a fractured neck. ## The regular release, which you refer to as IR is usually taken every 8 hours, and the ER every 12 hours, but you should ultimately follow the prescribing instructions, because only a medical professional can help you decide what is safest and best for you. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk o...
I have asthma too and my doctor said that ibuprofen can be bad for asthmatic. Since I always took ibuprofen and it was always ok, for me there is no problem with that. Bus asthmatic must be careful with it. About arcoxia and ibuprofen. Right now I'm taking arcoxia for my arthritis (witch says on the flyer that can also be bad for asthma when having a crisis because it can increase the mucous of the lungs). I probably would mix the two meds together because they are both bad for the liver and kidney. ## No, they should not be mixed, since they both essentially do the same thing and could cause severe problems with your asthma, as reported by the NIH. Other typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach irritation, and increased risk of bleeding. Is the...
I am just having a flair up with rheumatoid arthritis really bad. Is it safe to use morphine, as I am taking diazepam at the moment? ## Has your doctor prescribed it for you? In some cases, Morphine can worsen joint inflammation, so it should not be taken, without the approval of a medical professional. The NIH warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Taking it with the Diazepam may worsen some of the side effects, according to NIH reports, such as nausea, dizziness, and drowsiness. Is there anything else I can help with?
I filled a prescription on April 21st 2017 that said "must last 30 days". So starting on the 21st of April and counting 30 days, my 30th day seems to be on the 20th of May. Is this correct? ## Yes, you are correct, your pharmacy should be able to alert you, when you are due for a refill. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?
I can't believe that tramadol got bumped to schedule 4. It use to be over the counter and I took one a day and was pain free. I took them 5 days a week all summer with no withdrawals of any kind on the weekends or after 5 months of treatment. Now the doctors act like your asking for illicit drugs if you mention tramadol. Guess they made no money with an over the counter med that actually worked so they got it bumped to class 4. Aspirin is worse on the body and doesn't help pain. ## I am not sure if you are thinking of the correct medication, while it has been reclassified several times, Tramadol has never been available over the counter in the U.S. The FDA currently classifies it as an opioid and warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming, it could also cause side eff...
Is there any tramadol that contains codeine? I was given a white oblong capsule and was told it was tramadol with codeine... ## No, Tramadol is an opioid narcotic that is actually stronger than Codeine. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, and dizziness. What are the markings on the tablet? That is what would enable me to double check the active ingredients for you. Can you please post back with more details? Thanks!
I've been taking 10-325 hydrocodone/acetaminophen for 3yrs now, 3 times per day and I am still experiencing back pain! Can I ask my dr. for more pills per day? ## I think the best way to approach this is to just tell them that your pain is not under control, then let them make the decision from there, that way you avoid looking like a drug seeker. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as constipation, dry mouth, headache, dizziness, and drowsiness. They may even suggest you try a stronger medication. Are you on any other medications?
My doctor changed my patch dose from every 72 to every 48 hours. 75 mcg dose. My insurance refused to allow it. I have AARP (united healthcare). For me it would have been much better as on the third day I get no relief.... ## Hello, Aaron! How are you? I am very sorry about what happened. Most insurances will not cover it being used every 2 days, instead of every 3, unless someone has intractable due to a possibly fatal condition such as stage 4 cancer. I know that isn't really helpful, or comforting, I am just stating the facts. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Has your doctor made any other suggestions? They might be able to prescribe an additiona...
I have been taking norco for about ten years now and I now have a tolerance to it. For the norco to work for me I have to take more pills than what my doctor can prescribe. So I have run out of my Norco and my doctor prescribed me Percocet 7.5/325, but since I have never taken it before he said to only take 4 in 24 hours and see if it will work. Well, it is not working at all !!! I am going through withdrawals . I have emailed my doctor and tried to tell him this but I haven't heard back from him. I want to take more of the Percocet but I don't want to overdose. What can I do? ## There is a chart available, the link is you can see that Oxycodone in actually stronger than Hydrocodone. The problem could be either due to your having developed a high tolerance to opiates, or if you...
I take 5 of the15 mg Oxycodone per day. Last UA was negative, but I absolutely did take my meds. I drive 30 miles to Dr. and drink lots of water to make sure I can provide required sample. I take Synthroid for Thyroid. I never seem to feel effects of Narcotics when given mess like Dilaudid, Morphine, or Fentyanyl. I have been given these meds in the ER 5 times since 11/15 for dislocating my hip due to botched hip replacement. I am a Christian and do not lie or betray Dr.'s trust. What is wrong, and how can I prevent a false judgement against me because I would not waste anybody's time if I was not telling truth, I am scared that it might happen again and lose my PM status. ## Sorry for the typo's. I would appreciate any suggestions. ## It is most likely due to your water int...
On 8/19/14 my Doctor prescribed me 5 mg quick release tabs of Oxycodone for approx. 6 months, for neck pain(fusion), 3 slipped disks & a bulging disk, the OCYcodone was too strong for me, and on 9/25/14 the Dr. tried Norco 7.5/325 along with Nucynta ER for 2 days prior to a urine drug screen. Finally he dropped the Nucenta and tried Norco 10/325 three a day and I took that for 14 days. On the 3rd day of the 10/325 Norco he took a urine test, and although I haven't taken an Oxycodone since 9-26-14, today he told me I "failed" the drug test. I was wondering how long the Oxycodone stays in my system? Or could the Norco or Nucenta cause a false-positive for Oxycodone. At the time I had diabetes type 2 and took Metforman, also took Xanax (PRN), Adderall (PRN) and an SSRI call...
Can i take ibuprofen if i took oxycodone hydrochloride 4 hours ago? I have bad tooth pain cause it broke and they're taking it out tomorrow as an emergency. ## They are sometimes taken together for better pain control, but you should not do so without the approval of a medical professional. The FDA warns that Oxycodone carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, constipation, headache, and dry mouth. Has the extraction been done, yet?
They are horrible. Purdue pharma put too much filler and other stuff in them. They can pass right through your body in your stool, which happened to me. They can make you sick. They take way too long to work. I get about 6 hours and that's just calming my pain down. The docs will tell you they're 12 hour pain relief which is BULL, and the 80mg say 12 hours - Now how can that be? I've been through 6 failed lower back operations, damaged nerves, scar tissue on nerves, 5 deteriorated discs in my upper back, 3 severe multiple bone spurs sticking in my nerves and 2 bulging discs in my neck, and need both knees replaced. And my doc only wants me to take 2 a day. I only get 3 hours of sleep. I'm up at 1am or 2:30am and then take another dose at 9 or 10 am. I CANNOT go through t...
I'm presently taking Hydroco/APAP 7.5/325 which are white with 1P115 stamped on it. I was previously taking hydrocodone which were peach colored. With the white ones they are not as strong. I have to take two to get relief from chronic pain. With the peach colored ones I could take one and worked fine. Why would they be different if suppose to be same thing? Confused? ## Mine is different....I am also trying to figure out why the peach 750/325 are not working as well as the White!!! Could the peach ones be old? ## Under the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984 generics are allowed to differ from the name brand by as much as plus or minus 20% in the amount of the active ingredients, this was done to help bring generics to market fast and help create market competition to try to keep prices lower...
i found under my fridge a yellow round small pill with 40 on one side in dark letering, any idea what it is? ## Is there any chance that there's a marking "OC" on the other side of the pill? The closest match I'm finding is a round yellow pill imprinted with 40 on one side and OC on the other; identified as OxyContin (40mgs). Manufacturer: Purdue Pharma LP National Drug Code (NDC): 59011-0440 If this doesn't match your pill, I hope it can at least help to narrow down your search! ## cant see any thing on other side, but the 40 is in dark numbers and its not ingraved in the pill itself ## What is this small round oval like pill yellowish in color marked 40 in black lettering on one side, there is about 6 of them and none of them say anything on other side
I am 73 and have been on pain meds for about 50yrs now. First Darvon, then Darvocet and then Hydrocodone 10/325. Never had trouble until about a year ago. It seems different manufacturers have different amounts of hydrocodone. I get the most relief from Qualitest. Less from Amneal, etc. Now the Pharmacy has given me Tris. My concern is does the FDA allow for a variance between generic brands? ## Yes, unfortunately, under the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984, they are allowed to differ in the amount of the active ingredient(s), by as much as plus or minus 20% from the name brand. This was enacted to try to get generics to market faster, and create more market competition to help keep prices down. Unfortunately, generic manufacturers do not have to measure against each other, only against the nam...
My daughter gave me what she says is a Tylenol. It has "gpi" on top, then a line and at the bottom it has "a5". It made me sleepy. I've taken Tylenol before but it never caused drowsiness before. What is it? ## Yes, this tablet is manufactured by Amneal Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 500mgs of Acetaminophen, it is a generic or store brand for Tylenol. The FDA does list drowsiness as being a possibly side effect, you may also experience nausea, and headache. Is there anything else I can help with?
