i would like to know if anyone know how long mepergan is good for. i have some from february of 2007 and i have been prescribed the same dosage. i was wondering if it would be safe to take ## I was wondering the same thing I have some from 2008. ## I was wondering the same thing I have some from 2008.mepergan 50/25 my husband has a kidney stone wondered if it was still good? ## While some medications have a longer shelf life, I have to say that both of those mentioned are far past the recommended date they are considered safe to use. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, and constipation. Thus, it would be best to dispose of them and see your doctor for a new prescription, if you requi...

I am in the marine corp and was prescribed Oxycodone 5mg for an injury and on a drug test i tested positive for morphine. i have never taken or been given morphine. i have done research and have documents saying that oxycodone can make a false positive for morphine. does anyone else have other info about this situation, cuz the more the better to support my case. thank you ## Hi Jay, It is definitely well-known that on the cheaper, less reliable drug tests, it seems as though anything is likely to show up. From my perspective, drug testing facilities like to put the blame on "you" for their own mistake. They define it as a 'false-positive' as opposed to a 'mistake' on their part, to take the liability away from them and back on you, the patient for "taking so...

If I take an OxyContin 80 mg at 10 PM Monday night, and on Tuesday morning I take one 80 mg + one 30 mg Oxycodone at 7 AM would it be working in my body by 8:30 that morning? Thanks ## Yes, based on your dosage schedule I'd say it would definitely be working in your body by then, regardless of whether you take immediate release or a delayed release formulation. For instance, conventional oxycodone has a peak plasma concentration in your blood stream of about 1 hour after taking it, whereas the time-released version would reach its peak after about 3 hours. Half life can be up to about 4 hours, and traces of it remain in your body for up to 72 hours (but by that time you would probably have taken your next dose if you are on a regular pain management schedule). Hope this helps! ## Ho...

Hydro-morphone= dilaudid. Oxy-morphone=Opana. I say Opana is ATLEAST equal to an Oc 80. Fentayln patches also work great as well as liquid Morphine Sulfate. Mainly for Iv but can be ingested. ## YEs, if you're on the regular release formulation, you may want to ask your doctor about using the time release formulation for longer pain control. As was already mentioned, it's called Opana ER. Does anyone else have any ideas to add? ##...

It is a thick aqua round shaped pill with 44 373 on one side and blank on the other side ## This is a generic or store brand of Tylenol PM, it contains 500mgs of Acetaminophen and 25mgs of Diphenhydramine. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, headache and stomach irritation. Learn more: Are there any other questions or comments? ## I found a blue round pill with 44 on the top and 373 on the bottom. Can you please tell me what kind of pill it is?

It was very interesting to read all of the complaints about the different brands of percoset and their effectiveness. Watson was the only brand that helped me. It was a sad day when Actavis took them over and stopped producing their percoset. I even called the company and complained. I have the same issue with Fentanyl patch brands. I'm so happy to see I'm not alone! ## Hello, Marie! How are you? There are two name brand Percocet tablets currently available, both listed by the FDA as being in the 5/325mg dosage. One is a round, white tablet with the word PERCOCET on one side and DuPont on the opposite. The other is a round, white tablet that has the marking PERCOCET 5 the front. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit formi...

I'm waiting to go on the Suboxone treatment program. I got hooked on the crap in jail. I'm a week or two away. From being legit, but have urine for parole. Will Tramadol mask the Suboxone till my legit script comes through? I've worked soooo hard to get my life back and kids. ## Do you mean will the tramadol hold you over? It will at a high enough dose but suboxone slams your opoid receptors, so the dosage of tramadol necessary to hold say a 10mg a day dependance on suboxone may be enough to cause side effects and possibly seizures. Tramadol is anywhere from 1 to 2 times the strength of codeine although it has substantial ssni properties and can cause seizures at recommend doses, which will not exceed 400 mg a day. I currently take suboxone and was addicted to tramadol and v...

can I safely take hydrocodone 10 325 with 800 mg ibuprofen-I've been on hydro for years and I'm ha ving alot of pain now ## Yes you can take both. Ibuprofen is for inflammation. If taking it helps, you need to tell your dr. ## Hi Willy, Sorry to hear about the extent of your pain. From what I've found they actually do make a combination of Hydrocodone + Ibuprofen under the following brand names: Vicoprofen, Reprexain, and Ibudone. Perhaps you could ask your doctor about trying one of these as an alternative to the 325mgs of Acetaminophen, if you have any concerns about it's potential cumulative effects on liver health with long term use? Overcoming the pain is what matters, but I just try to encourage the safest methods possible if it can be helped. None the less, I hope...

How old was she maybe she died of something else ? ## I am very sorry for your loss. But yes, they are often prescribed together for those that are experiencing intractable pain from a possibly fatal condition, and both FDA and NIH studies have not found them to hasten death, in such cases, they just help the person be more comfortable in their final days. However, they do warn that if someone survives such conditions, they do carry the risk of being habit forming. This can always vary from person to person, and not being a doctor, I cannot say what might, ...

What are the latest developments and drugs for controlling the pain of Trigeminal Neuralgia. ## I have been taking Lyrica for Trigeminal neuralgia with some pain relief, however I experienced hallucinations and other mind altering symptoms. I would never consider taking it again. ## Margaret, how much were you taking? Those are not typical side effects for this medication, according to NIH reports. They typically include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings, and weight changes. What other medications have you tried? Have you tried any SSRI antidepressants?

I have been taking Percocet 5/325mg for years and recently got my refill and the pills look different. They have the number 510 on one side and just a demarcation line down the middle of the other side. They are white and oblong-the usual Percocet I take are round, white and have a 5/325 on one side. I have been taking them and have been getting very sick and nauseous. Please help me in identifying these pills to make sure they are Percocet. The pharmacy is of no help as they say they fill with generics all the time and can't give me any more info. I've looked it up online and can't find ANY pill matching that description. Now I'm scared!!!!! ## Just Google them. You can put in the color number & shape of the pill & you'll get the brand even if their generic w...

was told it is 75 mg. demerol ## what is a small white pill with a v on one side and 75 on the other ## To the original poster, is that the only marking on the tablet? Can you please post back and clarify? Tony, is it an A, or a V? If the marking is V 75, then the tablet is manufactured by Harris Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 10mgs of Hydroxyzine, which is used to treat allergic reactions, and as a sedative. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, and sedation.

I took 2mg of dilaudid following a painful medical procedure. Before my appointment I had taken .25 mg of clonopin in hopes that it would relax me and make my appointment less painful. I was not planning on taking anything afterwards, but the pain was so severe which led me to take the 2 mg of dilaudid. Will I be alright? ## They are sometimes prescribed together, but the safety of your taking them both is ultimately up to your doctor. How are you doing? Did you experience any adverse effects? The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, irritability, dry mouth, and constipation.

I had some teeth pulled the other day. I was in some really bad pain and finally got my dentist to prescribe some hydrocodone for me to take yesterday. I took one pill yesterday morning and experienced severe dizziness, nausea, and weakness from it. Later on in the evening I broke the pill in half but experienced the same symptoms. Is this a sign of a reaction to it or just side effects. Any help will be appreciated. ## Those can be normal side effects, since Hydrocodone is a narcotic analgesic. The FDA warns that you may also experience headache, drowsiness, dry mouth, and constipation. It also carries the risk of being habit forming. Have you ever taken this medication, before? Have you taken any other opiate narcotics, before?

Was in a car accident with back and neck injuries. Have been given hydrocodone that doesn't touch the pain. I live in Arkansas and heard oklahoma pain clinics understand and are more compassionate. Can anyone help me and tell me what clinics I can go to to get oxicotin??? I am desperately seeking help. The Dr. I had seen before for pain is no longer in business. ## Most will not prescribe for out of state patients, and most pharmacies will not fill, unless the doctor and patient are located in the same state. It is also never a good idea to seek out one specific medication, since most doctors will see that as being drug seeking behavior. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mou...

theres 3 diff kinds all capsules 1 is pink 2 is all white and 3 is half white half green no markings to identify them i was told it was morphine but im not sure ## Half green and white but no imprints on pill . ## If there are no markings, there is no way to be sure what they contain, unless you could actually have them lab tested. Under current U.S. law, all manufactured prescription products are required to have unique imprints to enable their identification. If a tablet or capsule does not have any markings, it could be an over the counter product, a foreign medication, or something that was specially ordered by a doctor and created by a compounding pharmacy. To give you a bit of a background story: I went to this state dentist and she put something in my tooth to heal it's self I guess, and tooth broke and now I have only a crown just barely sticking out, and recently pain has been increasing and mostly in my upper jaw and me being a curious guy I went in touching trying to see what is causing an issue and I stumbled on this "vein" like thingy that went straight down to the tooth I'm missing and i could actually feel how stiff it was, now my old dentist came back from a vacation and I have to wait for the next 7 days to go to him because he is over booked and to be honest I have a fear from other dentists now after having my tooth break so I only decided to go him because when I was a kid he was fixing my teeth and none of t...

Can you please tell me if this is hydrocodone or naproxen? One side says 537 and the other side says 93. It is a white oval pill. ## This tablet is manufactured by Teva Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 550mgs of Naproxen. It is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that is used to treat pain, fever, and swelling. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am on pain management and am prescribed 15mg oxycodone hydrochloride twice a day. I ran out and took a 30mg oxycodone. Would I fail my urine test if the levels of my prescribed medication are high? ## Can anyone tell me if a pain clinic has the right to supervise urine tests by physically watching in the State of TN? I have never given them a reason to.
