i kept getting sick after every strip or tablet of suboxone i took.i was a chronic pain patient for 17 yrs. and a former nurse b4 i got sick with lupus fibromyalgia ms ddd and herniated discs l-4 and l-5.after much research i figured out the problem.told my doc who didnt have a clue and got put on subutex instead suboxone has an artificial sweetner called acesulfame potassium and if u r allergic to sulfa drugs..bam suboxone willl make u sick..love to all.hope this helps someone who suffered like i did b4 researching it on my own ## Wow, I am very sorry that you were having such a problem, but very glad that you're doing better now. Not everyone that has a sulfa allergy has a reaction to every variation of sulfa, so it is really difficult to know what you may or may not react to, but...

I am disabled and have never taken any illicit drugs. i've been prescribed methadone from a Doctor in Dallas for many years. I also have mobility issues as well, as I have had spinal cord surgery to alleviate chronic pain. My Dr is retiring after 40 years and Its mandatory that I find a new doctor. I have medical records and would be blessed to find someone who could help me. Going to a methadone clinic is not an option because they are treatment centers and will.not accept patients unless you lie and say you misuse your medication. I know that I was protective of giving out my Drs name as.a.referral but I have in dire cases like my own. If you can help I can a will help you for your generosity and understanding. Thank you, ## did you find a doc in dallas ## I will be trying to find...

If I take 1/4 suboxone strip and a 60mg vyvanse, will it make me sick or sweat a lot? ## Hello, Lucy! How are you? I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between these two medications. Has your doctor prescribed them both? The Naloxone in the Suboxone only neutralizes other narcotics. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. As to the Vyvanse, since it is a stimulant, it may cause sweating, along with the risk of being habit forming and causing other side effects, such as nausea, headache and irritability. Are there any other questions or concerns? ## Does suboxone intensify lisdexamfetamine after taking lisdexamfetamine or will the suboxone weak...

Hi all. For 5 years I gradually increased my oxycodone use. I have a degenerative back disorder. The pain is there but I used oxycodone as a crutch. It got worse and worse from 2 5 mg a day to 3 to 5 and ending in 2 30 mg a day costing me 100s of dollars a month. I finally reached out to my psychiatrist who set me up with a suboxone doctor. I took my last 7.5 oxycodone at 2 pm yesterday. Dr said to wait 12 hrs as did alllll the Internet info. I was sick in w/d by 8pm. Was scared to death of this nightmarish precipitated w/d I read about. At 8:30 pm I took 2 mg suboxone as the dr said to start with. Omg I was feeling better. 10 pm another 2 mg and I was AMAZED at how I felt. I didn't sleep very well BUT I'll take that ANYDAY over wondering how to get the next oxy. This morning I ...

I have been on 65 for 14 yrs. After jail and prescription chasing, it finally allowed me to maintain my job, and lead a normal life! Yes, it would be nice not to be dependent on anything, and sometimes it does get me down. But the trade off seems more than fair! Does anyone have any sort of story? I would love to hear it. By the way...I've always taken it when suppose to and how im suppose to. That may be part of the solution. Waiting and hoping .....DJ ## Hi DJ, hope all is well. I've seen quite a few methadone success stories browsing through forums here over the years and I must say that I think you have the right attitude about it to achieve what your own vision of success may be and what success through this situation means to you while managing pain, etc. But being able to...

WHICH IS BETTER? I have been on a dose of 150mg of Methadone for approx. 8 or so years. I just recently heard of this drug Buprenorphine which is taken instead of Methadone. Does anyone know if this line of treatment is better or worse than Methadone treatment for Opiate Addicts such as myself? Thank You Very Much ## I used to be addicted to oxycontins, I started taking methadone but figured it wasnt any better for me than the oxy's. The buprenorphine is probably a better way for you to go. I am now on suboxone. They started me off with a med called subutex and you take it for the first three days and then they switch you to suboxone they are two different meds. One blocks only one receptor and the other blocks both. To get high, you need these two receptors to be open to feel the d...

I have narcolepsy and was taking Suboxone strips. I got tons of energy but my insurance stoped covering them and switched me to this generic white pill with N8 on it and an arrow on the back. It gives me no energy ??? ## Has it been prescribed for this use? That's not something it is normally used for, since its possible side effects can include nausea, dizziness, and drowsiness, according to FDA reports. It also carries the risk of being habit forming. Are you on any other medications? Did your doctor ever have you try an amphetamine, such as Adderall? ## Hi can you tell me what kind of pharmacy gave you that kind because I get suboxone and I’d like to get that kind filled and try them plz and thanks

Hey... I just got a suboxone and by the markings it is supposed to be an 8/2 mg suboxone, but there was no image available on the internet. It has an N 8 on the front... and an arrow in the back. I've seen this question already asked a few times, but I got confused by your answers. Thanks. ## Mike, If it's a 8 and arrow on reverse its subutex 8mg. If not the possibilities are endless. If you received these from a legit source it should come with product insert information. If not I wouldn't risk taking something that can cause severe withdrawals if not taken as prescribed. Good luck ## The tablet with the N8 on, with the logo on the opposite is an 8/2mg Suboxone tablet. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, ...

My husband was on 32 mg of methadone and has waited 96 hours to start his Subutex. During these 96 hours he has taken a total of ten 30 mg Oxycodone's. He took 4 mg of subutex this morning and was withdrawing about an hour after this dose. he took about three more milligrams of Subutex and he is sweating & saying he doesn't feel right. He has waited for about 14 hours in between the last dose of oxycodone and Subutex. Should he take two more milligrams to ease symptoms or should he wait it out? ## Stacsanny Well subutex contains no NALOXONE so the presence of this would not cause pws. No doubt he is stil withdrawing from the methadone. By administrating other powerful opiates are only prolonging this syndrome .If he intends on using subutex as an oa protocol it should be und...

I have been on generic Subutex for about 3 years. Prior to that I was on Methadone then switched to Suboxone. At 1st I took the Methadone and Suboxone for MAT, as I used to abuse alcohol and drugs. I've been clean from all illicit drugs and alcohol for 9 years. I have severe chronic back pain, prior back surgery, now defective due to post surgery trauma. My doctor is going to switch me to Zubsol, it's the only thing my insurance will cover. Will Zubsol still help with the chronic pain. I can't and don't want to take any if the other narcotics. Subutex has both controlled my pain to a level that I can function on and I have never abused nor wanted to abuse it. I just don't know what to expect when I change the medication ??? ## Zubsolv contains Buprenorphine, and Nalo...

Most of what I look up comes up either unsafe with methadone or will flush my dose out which would be devastating for me with my chronic pain issues, and that I take a once-a-day liquid dose, so redosing is not an option. I do not want to be thrown into withdrawals from flushing it out. I was looking at glucomannan but can’t seem to find anything on that one at all. Does anyone know a good mix of weight loss meds and methadone or if that particular one is safe to take without losing my dose? ## What dose are you currently taking of the Methadone? More details would make it easier to answer your question, so can you please post back? I have a very sore throat and chest. I am taking 20mg's of methadone. Can I take robitussin too? ## can i take tussin cough syrup while taking methdone. does it mix ## Hello Gross, First and foremost I would like to say that any time you are taking a prescription medication like methadone it is important to keep your doctors in the loop with any decision you make regarding other medications. People on the internet don't know your full situation and the information provided here is going to be generic and not tailored to your situation. I strongly recommend that you at the very least call your primary care physician and ask if this is ok. With that said the NIH says that the drugs do not have any severe interactions but does say that both of these medications have sedative proper...

My pain management doctor will no longer practice PM and the doctor he referred his patients to will not take me because he said he was an interventional doc and there isn’t anything he can do for me. I have been taking 20 mg methadone 2x a day and 30 mg oxycodone 3x a day for breakthrough. He obviously didn’t want to take me as a patient due to my meds. I live in Houston but will travel to Dallas, San Antonio, Austin or anywhere within 250 miles. I have been in chronic pain many years. I would be so very greatful for help. I can’t find any doctor in H town that will take over my PM. My doctor had a stoke and was prescribing me 30 mg a day of methadone for a chronic pain syndrome..I am a 51 yr old that has never abused drugs!! Does anyone know a dr. or pain dr. that is willing to prescribe this to me..Either in Col, ohio, or Springfield ohio!! Thanks for your time!! ## You'll most likely need to see a pain management specialist, due to the new regulations that were put in place at the beginning of the year. Due to the increased rates of over prescribing and improper prescribing, the DEA and FDA are making it harder for general practitioners and surgeons to prescribe such medications for long-term use and most people that need them must be referred to pain management. I am in desperate need to find a doctor to write me methadone for chrobic back and neck pain. Hopefully near dothan AL or near panama city fl. Ive been going to a methadone clinic because i cant find a doctor and i cannot afford the clinic anymore. ## Hello, Tina! How are you? I'm very sorry about your financial situation and the pain you're in. However, if you've been going to an addiction treatment clinic, then that is what is going to be listed in your medical records, even if you were going due to pain, and a regular doctor will not be able to prescribe it for you. I know the clinics are expensive and very inconvenient, but that's the way the current laws are. Doctors that aren't specially trained to treat addiction can only prescribe it for pain and once someone...

Im on suboxone and being treated for an infection with batrim. Will both still work properly or cancel each other out? ## I didn't find any problems or interactions listed, but it's always best to double check. But it should be fine, unless your doctor has some concern. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Bactrim as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Suboxone is an opiate, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Yes they can be taken together. I'm having severe symptoms daily sometimes several times a day for low blood sugar. What can cause this? The only other meds taken daily are omeprazole 40 mg and methadone 100 mg. ## Hello Barry, This could potentially be a very serious problem and honestly you should see a doctor about this asap. There are a number of reasons that you could be experiencing low blood sugar but not the least of which could potentially be diabetes.
