My husband was prescribed Methadone for chronic pain associated with an amputation of his leg. We have since moved, and the new doctor doesn't want to prescribe Methadone and prescribed him oxycontin and oxycodone instead. He has not been asked to give a urine sample yet for the new doctor. How long will he test positive for the Methadone? He was on it for years and we have been told that it stays in the system longer than other medications. I was also asking because he is searching for a job, and I wouldn't want him to test positive for something that he is no longer taking. He was on 60mg's/day before the new doctor changed his medication. I wanted to know if it took days, or weeks or longer to get out of his system. Any information would be appreciated!

Hello, Me and my husband have using Buprenorphine more than one year, before we were on Methadone. Does Buprenorphine have the same ingredients and effects as Suboxone have? I wanna know if Buprenorphine blocks cocaine effects? Since we are on Buprenorphine, cocaine doesn't work at all. Why? Some people write that Suboxone does not blocks cocaine, they even use it both together. We use Bupren not Suboxone and I realy like to know which one is better and why Bupren blocks cocaine, 'cause we feel no effects of cocaine at all. What can we do, 'cause we really wish to have cocaine for a new year or even before?! What can we do? Please let me know why Cocaine doesn't works on Bupren? Would we feel the real effects of cocaine if we use Suboxone instead Bupren? Help me please ...

HI, I have just done an angioplasty with Stent in one artery >> !! is using Suboxone is going to cause any problem ??? or interfere with my medication use, I am on Crestor (cholesterol pill) and also some blood thinner Berlinta , etc, please help ??? ## Hello, Hadi! How are you? Sorry about the surgery. Since Suboxone contains both Buprenorphine and Naloxone, I am not sure about it's safety in such a situation. What has your doctor advised? The opiate in it can act as a depressant that lowers heart rate and blood pressure, so it may not mix well with the other medications that you're taking. It can also be habit forming. Learn more Suboxone details here. Other side effects to it may include nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

I have been taking two to three 8mg Dilaudid ,iv, for the past 3 years. I am desperately wanting to take suboxone and get off the D. I had done a quarter of a D right before bed then 6 hours later I did a half of a sub strip. I was able to go to work and I was fine. I am wanting to do the same thing now and get off of this junk but after I see people that wait I see people that waited 16 hours to take a sub and I still went in to precipitated withdrawals. Did I just have a stroke of luck the first time around or is it possible to have the same results again? I pray to God its possible! Any useful insight is welcome. ## Before starting Suboxone, you actually need to be in full withdrawals. Just looking for a private doc to get methadone. I am tired of going to the clinic everyday ## Hello, Little One! How are you? I'm sorry, but a private doctor isn't allowed to prescribe it for addiction treatment. That can only be done by those that have been specially trained in its use for such, which means a clinic is your only option. But have you considered treatment with Suboxone? Learn more Suboxone details here. It is prescribed to be taken at home, rather than daily treks to a clinic and it also usually allows people to end up completely drug free, rather than requiring a lifetime maintenance dose like Methadone. It is, however, still a narcotic opiate, so it does have the potential to be habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness,...

There are so many different answers/opinions on this topic. So i was hoping to get a simple yes or no answer. I am prescribed liquid methadone from a treatment center. I recently got a new job and im about to get hired in, but before that happens I have to go to the hospital for an initial drug test. I know it helps that I do have a prescription for the medicine I take and im not just taking drugs off the street, but with all that said, does it actually show up on a test? Should I be prepared and just get a slip from the doctor before going to take the drug test at the hospital? ## It might show up if the company/hospital requesting the test gets a detailed panel of drugs tested for. Some home urine drug test will also have it on a multi-panel configuration such as a 12 panel urine dip ...

I went on suboxone last Demember, almost exactly a year ago today, and I've been off since late October. My doctor started me on 3 8mg tabs daily which I took every day for about 8 months. I told him 7 months into it I was ready to ween off which i did so in 4 mg increments. i tapered down for about 4 months going down 4mg sometimes in 2 weeks and sometimes in 2 months depending on how I was feeling. The withdrawal during this time was noticable but bearable and made me dread what coming off completely was going to be like. Once I got down to 1mg daily I told my doctor that was it and stopped going. The physical withdrawals I felt were like nothing I've ever been through before. Going on this medication after 160-240mg a day oxy habit seemed like a great idea at the time but I a...

Hi it would be of great help to me if any suboxone users could help me out by answering my question. Would 2mg of suboxone restrict your pupils. My partner has been using 2mg of suboxone for some time now and his pupils are always very restricted which puzzles the life out of me and in turn causing massive problems in our relationship. I'm convinced he must be using "other stuff" to make his pupils this small. Would 2mg of suboxone cause this. With many thx to any1 who would be kind enough to reply. Thank u. ## Hi, Ann! How are you? Yes, Suboxone actually contains 2 active ingredients, Buprenorphine and Naloxone. The Buprenorphine is a very potent narcotic opiate, so it can cause that in some people that take it, just as other opiates can. Learn more Suboxone details here. A...

is their any doctors in bucks county p.a methadone pills for chronic pain ## Hello, Rich! How are you? Unfortunately, there is no listing of doctors in any given location that will prescribe any certain medication. I'm sure you can imagine the issues such a thing may cause, especially when it comes to controlled substances. Learn more Methadone details here. Additionally, since Methadone is so highly addictive, most doctors are reluctant to prescribe it for pain and usually prefer to stick with safer options. Do you have a PCP that you see regularly?
