I get Subutex 12mg per day from my psych addiction specialist and have been seeing him for years. Occasionally he drops me and I have always tested clean for illicit and non prescribed meds. So here is my question, my appt. is on Wednesday and I just took my last sub tonight, Sunday. If he drops me and the test includes identifying subutex is there a possibility it will still be positive? ## i take subutex ran out today so took a urine sample put in the refridgerator for a 10 am urine test put the urine in the refridgerator at 12 noon test is at 10 am monday morning will the urine be okay for the test no body watches
I have been taking suboxone on and off for nearly five years now with a prescription. Last prescription being in December of 2014. And I have recently been involved with family court in Kentucky. I have been testing positive for suboxone and I'm just wondering if my recent prescription will be valid in court. I have to be in court on Tuesday and can't afford to see a doctor until the following Friday. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Updated in SuboxoneI have been on buprenorohine 8mg, 3 times a day for the last 3 years for pain management. I have fibromyalgia, chronic back pain, and other pain issues. I have a current health issue causing me increased pain. So bad that nothing is helping with the pain. I was given 10mg norco to take for the pain. I have been off the buprenorohine for the last 27 hours. Can I take the norco and get any pain relief? If yes, how many should I take? Or do I have to wait longer? ## Hi Sam, I've seen this type of question come up a lot on here, and often see responses indicating that it's generally best to wait several days (e.g. 4-5 days) in-between Buprenorphine and other narcotic pain relievers such as Norco (Hydrocodone/APAP) - in order to be able to feel its effects. Seeing that you've wai...
I've been on zubsolv for probably a year now after a year of suboxone after 8 years of Percocet. I am having major anger and depression issues and want off this drug. It's been a full 24 hrs that I haven't taken one and I don't plan to take it ever again. How long until my mood stabilizes? How long will the drug be in my system?? Thanks! ## @Dez, According to the FDA, Buprenorphine's average elimination half-life can range anywhere from 24-42 hours, and Naloxone's from 2-12 hours. With such a long half life combined with the duration of time you've been taking Zubsolv, it seems to me like it would probably take a good several days to completely leave your body. That's just an estimate though, as everyone metabolizes drugs differently. As for the mood swin...
MY FRIEND IS ASKING AND IM NOT SURE :( ## Hello, Lil Miss! How are you? No, Subutex only contains the active ingredient Buprenorphine. However, Buprenorphine does tend to take a stronger hold on the opiate receptors in the brain, thus it could still cause other opiates to not work, or cause some withdrawal effects in some people that are already taking them. So, it shouldn't be taken, without the approval of a doctor and following their instructions. The FDA classifies this medication as being an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?
ive taken 132mgs of suboxone over the last 2 weeks how can i guit ## Hello, Nolabob! How are you doing? A slow taper would be best and safest, your doctor should be able to help you set up a proper tapering schedule that will prevent most of the withdrawal effects. Have you discussed it with them, yet? This is an opiate, so withdrawal effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, diarrhea, fever and chills. It also carries the risk of being habit forming. ## Hey Vermon, My Dr has me on 12mg of suboxone 1 time daily I told him I wanted to get off of them asap I was sick and tired of being sick an tired Im 62 yrs old an had an addiction problem all my life or rather since I was 8or 9 yrs old . My wife an I are taking a crusie for our 40 th wedding anniversary 2 of our best friends are a...
Hello I'm currently seeking a pain clinic/dr in michigan that can help my get methadone for pain/opiate dependency! Any advice would be greatly appreciated! ## Hello, Peeker! How are you? If you've been treated at an addiction clinic, then a regular doctor will be unable to prescribe it for you, it is illegal for them to do so. The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. If you've only been taking it for pain management, then a doctor could prescribe it for you, but most are reluctant to do so, due to its severely habit forming potential. Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area that night be able to help?
I have this weird red and grey spots on my foot and extreme pain throughout my foot as well from a subutex injection. It was very swollen for the first day or two a different started to get better then then pain just got worse and worse I can barely even walk on it. If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions please comment with any suggestions at all. ## Hello, Mike! How are you doing? I'm sorry about the problem you've had. I'd suggest having it checked out by your doctor. It sounds like you may be having a bad reaction to it, or a blockage may have developed and, if that is the case, then it needs medical attention, before the tissue goes necrotic. The FDA classifies this medication as being an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potenti...
I've been on 16-24 mg of Suboxone for about 4 years and I've tried time after time to get off of it, but I cannot afford to take off work or lose my job because of withdrawals. I have to be able to take care of my family. I've tried tapering on my own and with the help of my Suboxone doctor who recommended that I stay on it. I have tried withdrawal ease, and cold turkey. After much research I found that many people who are stuck on Suboxone get off by stopping for a week, then going back to short acting opiates such as Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, or Morphine, then tapering off after a month or two. I would like to find a doctor to help me with this rather than risking it on my own, plus it would be extremely hard to do if I didn't have a prescription, especially since I don...
Any1 know if it's okay to take heroin say 4-5 hrs AFTER having taken my first dose - 6 decidedly inadequate mgs - of suboxone? ## In reality, it's never okay to take heroin. However, to answer your question, doing it within hours of having used Suboxone is probably futile and dangerous, since the Buprenorphine is a very potent narcotic and the Naloxone is used to neutralize other narcotics. Have you considered talking to a doctor to get help? ## Verwons answer to this is 100% incorrect. Sigh, I wish, before people answer someones' question they would know what the hell they are talking about. When a question arises, esp one concerning your health &/or something as serious as withdrawals, my first tip would be to research, research & research. The internet is a good p...
I'm nervous to start the new meds. the only thing I've heard about suboxone is people with serious addiction problems use it. I only take at the most 20mg of oxycodone a day, which I've been told to stop taking before putting on the patch of 5mg.... My doctor has told me to wait 2 days but I've heard anywhere from 24 hours, to 8 hours or wait until you start to feel sick from the withdraw.... I just want to know if anyone else has been transitioned this way? ## Hello, Jane! How are you? You do need to be in full withdrawal, before you can start using Suboxone. The reason for this is due to it containing the opiate Buprenorphine with Naloxone, which neutralizes other opiates, to prevent someone abusing them, when being treated with it for addiction. The FDA warns that it ...

My husband was given drug test and had taken 160mg. of methadone over four day period. It had been 32 days since he had taken any. Will this show up on a gc/ms test after amount of time? ## The only thing it should be detectable in after that amount of time would be a hair sample. In blood it's only detectable for approximately 7 days after last dosing and in urine for approximately 12 days. Learn more Methadone details here. It can always vary from person to person, but these are the average times for most people. What was the drug test for? ## His Dr. sent his test out to a lab. Y ## How can Percocet show up on a gc/ms test 3 weeks later How long does it normally take to clear
Iv been on soboxine for a couple days. i smoked H couple hours after i took my sub. now to get back on the sub do i have to wait 24 hours? ## Dear Jigga H, u need 2 b in w/d b4 u can take the suboxone, again. Or, it will defeat the purpose and might make u feel sick. So , I would wait until u feel withdrawals b 4 u take the subs. ## Hi, You should wait 16-18 hours. You don,t want to take the chance of going into precipitated wds. ## i have been in the VA suboxone treatment for a while. I was on a good track for a long time then they got really strict and they treat you like a criminal in lexington ky. started cutting me off super fast. I went from 20mg of suboxone the pill form down to 6mg in 3 months. I started feeling really bad. I relapsed. I tried telling my Dr. he said the VA has a...
I was denied my rx of Suboxone 8/2 films today from US Scripts Lahealthcareconnection/La. Medicaid. The code said maximum of 365 per lifetime? Since when? Can anyone help me if you know anything about this? ## It is up to each state to decide certain things that their Medicaid will cover and if they will cover it to set limits on it is they chose. Louisiana Medicaid is making a lot of cuts, as are other states and it will only get worse.
Good help IS really hard to find. I am beginning a new job next week near Sevierville and am looking to find a Dr. in that area. However, I'm willing to drive outside the area if the office hours are flexible. Ideally, the Dr. or clinic I'm looking for would be affordable($200-$250 initially). If you know or have heard of such a place, your time and help will be greatly appreciated.
Updated in SubutexIs subutex better than suboxone for patients with hepatitas c ## Hello, Lucy! How are you? The final decision would be up to you and your doctor, of course, however most often Subutex is preferred, since it contains Buprenorphine by itself and doesn't include the Naloxone that's in Suboxone. Generally, it's considered the less medications being processed through your liver to tax it, the better. The FDA classifies this medication as being an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?
People who moan and go on about how expensive suboxone and dr visits are well it's pretty simple and I say this because I to take suboxone ,I have for 2yrs 2 months it's not cheap but neither was your addiction I'm not stupid 20yrs of addiction has taken everything away from me now it's slowly coming back at $1.00 a mg or more in some cases like oxy-codon or Percocet 30 s I've payed $40.00 dollars a piece and that barley scratched the surface in getting me feeling better was taking 3to 4 a day everyday and I afforded that so the suboxone is very affordable compared to getting opioids off the street so do your best to make it work people and god bless ## Dear Jimmy24z, I totally agree with u. I'm lucky enough 2 have health insurence, so, I only pay $40 a month 4 a...
