I am taking 60mg of nifedipine and I am having unpleasant dreams every night. Is there an alternative which does not have this side effect? ## Hello, Mick! How are you? I take Nifedipine 60 mg each morning. Previously I was on 30 mg twice a day. I feel warmth and notice redness in my lower legs and face about an hour after taking my medication. I also seem very tired about an hour after taking it. Is this common? Does it ever go away? I'm on nifedipine extended release 30mg and losartan extended release.I have hyper.now I am having hypo.64 over 48 I keep feeling my heart beating from the nifedipine I want to stop it immediatly I told the dr. John ## I have to agree with John, the closest I can find is Nifedipine, which is used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. I have been taking Nifedipine for a month. I have increased water and swelling in feet, and a lot of pulled muscles. I think the pills are the cause. How do I wean myself off them? My mom takes a lot of pills and a typo from me caused her to take two 90 mg ER Nifedipine tablets. I am TERRIFIED that I have just hurt or worsened my mom. What will happen? Hello, i've just started taking Adalat GITS 20mg for my high blood pressure. I still feel dizzy at times and my blood pressure is 130/90 still (it was extremely high last week and was also dizzy). Last night I might have taken Nifedipine er 30mg two times accidentally....at 8:30 and at 10:30. I had no side effects except for my pulse increasing from 73 to 93 within an hour of the second pill. It is now 6:23 a.m. I am fine but a little hesitant about whether to take my metoprolol succinate er 25 mg at 10:30 this morning. And do I resume the regular dose of Nifedipine tonight at about 9 pm? ## Did you experience any other symptoms? The FDA lists them as possibly including nausea, dizziness, and hypotension. I started Nifedipine XR 30 mg last Friday, June 10,2016. I realize the tablet shells do not dissolve but I think the entire pill with the undissolved and unabsorbed medication is passing through my system. My blood pressure has not gone down since I started it 6 days ago. I happened to swallow a dental crown the same day I started the medication and have, unfortunately, been trying to retrieve my $900 crown so that I will not have to buy another. In this effort I have found 4 pills, each time thinking it was my crown, and upon inspection found the yellow medicine still inside each pill. My doc says I have absorbed the medicine but told me to double the dosage to 60 mg/day and was insulted when I mentioned the pharmacist told me to ask for a different medication. I am pregnant (33 weeks) and I don't know if it's ok to use both nifelat 20mg and ascard 75mg to control my blood pressure? ## You should take whatever medications your doctor has instructed you to take, it would be far more dangerous for both and your baby, if your blood pressure was out of control. I read nifedipine causes breast cancer. Is it true? It's supposed to be taken twice daily for high blood pressure. ## Hello, Mercedes! How are you? Are you post-menopausal? That is when the greatest risk was found, though more research is needed to be sure of that and it seemed only relevant to calcium channel blockers, according to JAMA and the studies they have already compiled. Thus, if you are concerned, you could always speak to your doctor about trying a medication that is in a different class, such as a beta blocker. Is this the only medication you are taking?

I'm trying to see if my prescription has been filled correctly. This pill is white, round, the number 30 and N E on one side, the letter M on the other.
