Hi all, I need some help. I was taking 2 - 5mg percs a day for my fibromyalgia, unfortunately I have now developed two tumours and a cyst on my hip which cause excruciating pain. My doctor tried me on a gamut of anti-inflammatories but due to my colitis those were not tolerated, she also tried a couple other pain meds, those and the 5mg percs were not cutting through the pain. She just gave me 5mg morphine sulphate 4 x day until my mri and surgery. I have taken one morphine pill about a half an hour ago and am still in the same amount of pain. How long does the morphine take to work? If the morphine doesn't work, is there anything I can suggest other than percs? I worry that I will look like I am drug seeking but I cannot function at all with the pain and haven't gotten much sle...

Been going to a pain clinic for abou a year due to spinal stenosis mainly. Went in last week for a med check and urine drug screen. The nurse called me back a few days later and told me i tested positive for morphine. im prescibed 4 lortabs per day through the pain clinic. Also take lexapro, gabapentin, zanaflex, otc allergy med with loratidine, and a multi vitamin. I have been to the point of an almost panic attack ever since the nurse called me with the results that i know have to be a mistake. The nurse said he may call me back or the doctor may call me. The urine specimen was done on april 16th and sent to a lab. The nurse called me with the positive morphine result on april 22. I've been living in Las Vegas for about 6 years after coming here from California. I have been on morphine for 15 years and now walgreens is giving me a hard time even though I fill them there every month. I read a great article online about walgreens, but what really blows me away is that we have vending machines with free needles and other supplies they need and I'm treated like a criminal. ## Hello, Christina! How many months will morphine sulfate keep its potency when used in an infusion pump? I have to travel quite a distance to the clinic & I'd like to safely increase the time between refills. I've had withdrawal problems with a pump in the past, & recently a new one was installed & I don't want to experience that again. ## Anyone with this morphine infusion pump want to share your daily dose, refill schedule and why you have the pump?

I moved from TN to Utah and I'm having problems finding a doctor who is taking on new patients. I have been on 60 100mg morphine 2x a day and 120 20mg oxycodone 4x a day since 2009 after breaking my back in several places. Can anyone offer any advice? Even with being on disability supporting MRIs, X-rays, etc they still want to do another surgery. Unless something new comes out I'm not willing to try surgery again. I just want to stay on what worked and not have them say physical therapy or acupuncture will fix everything because it won't. I am finding that when I take my PRN (as needed) dose of IR morphine any time after 4 pm, no matter what I take, lorazepam, ambien, phenergan, soma that I can't fall asleep and if I do it's that "yen" type of sleep where I am kind of in a trance. I am finding that I need the PRN dosing more and more at night so what can I do to counter the effects. In the day it makes me sleepy but at night it's completely different. I've asked my doctor about it and for a different solution but he says there is nothing stronger or better that he can prescribe that I can afford - I don't have prescription coverage. I need to know if I will pass my drug test tomorrow. I took morphine two days ago but I have been on suboxone. Will morphine show up? ## Yes, unfortunately it will even with the suboxone. Both will show up. ?? It takes 10 days for it to not show up in a ua. Suboxone only blocks the effects of other opiates (in theory) but it does not "wash out" other substances from your system. I know this is a super late response, but I am curious to know if I am wrong and what happened if it did show up. I would love to hear what happened on Friday, October 21st 2016 (the day of your ua) and what happened afterwards. Lemme know!

Hello my doctor just changed me from taking up to 6 Hydrocodon 10/325 to Morohine 15 mg time release tablet . should I see a big change as far as side affects ? ## It is the weakest morphine pill out there if you are takeing for pain it's better than norco I had my doc lower my doce to 1 15 mg morphine and I Get oxycodone 4 each a day. I recently got kicked out of my pain clinic due to a urine screen showing a small amount of THC. I have been on Morphine 100mgs, and vicidin. They just left me high and dry, I don't want to deal with the withdrawals as years ago I had to get myself off Oxycontin. I am pissed because I was treated so badly. Hello everybody, my name is Lisa. I have been seeing my pain management doctor for nine years. In the beginning he started me off at regular doses of Morphine Sulfate ER, Roxicodone, Diclofenac, Valium (for my horrific spasms) and Duloxetine. I have had 3 surgeries on my back, two laminectomies and the last one was a complete spinal fusion at L4-5 and S1 wherein they went in and took out a piece of my hip bone and fused it to my lower back along with plates and screws. I've been on 15 mg morphine ER every 12 hours for nine months (for pain from thorcotomy/lobectomy for lung cancer). My pain mgmt dr changed it to morphine 15 mg immed release (I didn't realize til I got the rx filled a week later.) None of my other meds have changed (percocet 10-325 mg 4x day, gabapentin 600 mg 3x day, 2 mg zanaflex every night). I would love to stop taking all these drugs but still have significant pain and two young children to care for all day. I told my dr that I'd really love to stop the morphine at least and he said we would just drop it and replace it with more percocet. How long will the effects of M60 last? I have a migraine headache and have to be up for work at 530 am...it is 7p.m.now... ## It will last about 12 hours and it's really not advisable to take Morphine for a migraine, anyway. It actually tends to cause headaches, as a side effects, along with nausea, dizziness and constipation. I'm barely able to write this. Pain meds not working last couple of days. One change is I want to use up some old pills made by Ranbaxy. Might be this be my problem?
