I ran out of percocet 10mg for breakthrough pain due to insurance problems. The soonest I can get a refill will be in 2 days. I take Morphine Sulfate ER 30mg every 12 hours. My question is, how much additional morphine could I take over the next 2 days to compensate for not having the percocet for breakthrough pain. I sufer from chronic pain. ## Hello, Bob! How are you? How many Percocet do you take daily? It would best not to change your dose of Morphine, with your doctor's approval. However, without knowing your total dose of Percocet, I can't give you even a basic comparison to help. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipati...

Since MS Contin is now made by Rhodes, I have heard there is a new brand name ER Morphine. Is anyone familiar with this? ## The Morphine ER is not a new brand, that is actually the generic, it has been available for years. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. The original name brand, MS Contin, was manufactured by Purdue Pharma. There is a generic available from Rhodes. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hi Verwon, Rhodes, I know is a generic company ran by Purdue, also maker of Oxycontin, they just switched their MS Contin to Rhodes, who makes very weak generic meds. Do you know if this MS Contin, now made by Rhodes has the same quality as it did when made by P...

Seven years ago I was put on morphine 100mg twice a day and oxycodone 10-325 for breakthrough pain (up to 2 pills a day). Once I was put on that dosage, I felt normal, not ruled by pain like I had been for the past 7 years where I tried anything I could to just get the pain to a manageable level. I felt like I got my life back. My doctor suddenly retired and his practice was merged into a community health center. His pain patients were told they could stay on the pain medicine and they would be refereed to a pain specialist or they could try to wean off of it. I decided to see if I could reduce my dosage--mainly because it's hard finding a doctor who is willing to treat chronic pain. This doctor was running late (over an hour) so he was in a hurry to get through the appointment--the...

i am currently taking oxycondone 15mg prescribed, how ever i am out and going through withdrawls, i have non prescribed morphine however i may have to take a drug test and want to know if they can tell the difference? ## Yes, they can tell the difference, because they are both different substances and will have different metabolites once they are processed through your body. Is there anything else I can help with? ## How long does 1-100MG Morphine Sulfate ER tablet stay in your system how long before it won't show up in a piss test ## I'm not trying to be critical, but some of these questions almost appear like you are desperate to ask them to keep busy. I can tell by your grammer in the question you are smart and knew that before you asked. ## I take 15 mg ER morphine. HOW long...

I'm ceasing my use of 30 mg Morphine Sulfate ER twice daily due to concerns that it's increasing my disorganization and not helping my pain as much as Celebrex and maybe Cymbalta. My pain provider suggested what seemed to be a rapid decrease of plateaus of only a few days before each decrease. Instead I filled with 15 mg tablets and decreased more slowly, always decreasing the evening dose first. I'm now at one 15 mg in the morning only- this is the third day. The soles of my feet hurt (fibromyalgia pain), my calves, front of legs. I'm faintly nauseated, was unable to nap today because of restless legs when I had an impending migraine. The only previous effect during this entire decrease was after 7 days at 15 mg, bid, when I had a sensation of odors associated w/an unpl...

I have taken 8 mg of suboxone for the past 2 days, the last time being last night around 8pm. I just received a prescription for 60 mg morphine for a back procedure and am hoping to be able to take it by tomorrow night. The doctor told me since I only took it for a few days that's all I should have to wait (although I sure felt the shot they gave me!) Does anyone have any experience with this or answers that may help? ## Hello, Lolly! How are you? It usually takes about 72 hours, before other opiates will work, though it could be different for you, since you felt the shot without any issues. If your doctor doesn't feel you need to wait longer, then it is always best to follow their advice. It isn't harmful to try taking another opiate sooner, the Suboxone just prevents them ...

How long does ER 60 mg morphine give pain relief per dose? ## Hi, Jane! How are you? These are designed to slowly release the medication over a period of 12 hours, so they are normally prescribed to be taken twice daily. However, some people do find that they don't get as much pain relief after about 10 hours, or so. Learn more MS Contin details here. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## how often should you take 60mg morphine tablets? Its been at least eleven hours so is it OK to take another one? ## I take 1 60mg @ 5am and again at 4-5pm of Morphine Sulfate ER. I have been takin 60mg ms contin 3 times a day n 30mg oxycodone immediate release 4 times a day for 8 yrs i have bullet fragments in my spine an nerve damage in my legs my doc recently changed the oxycodone to morphine 30mg immediate release but my pain is still ridiculous what will help me i also take baclofen 10mg amytriptilyn 50mg an recently lyrica 75mg but like i said my pain is still out of control what will help me? ## Hello, Shy! How are you doing? Has there been any change? According to the NIH conversion information for opiates, Oxycodone is one and a half times stronger than Morphine, thus, being switched from 30mgs Oxycodone to 30mgs of Morphine was actually lowering your dose, so it is unsurprising that you are still in pain. OK I am not sure what to do. I have been complaining for months regarding hypersensitive skin on my abdomen. The Doc has been no help and has guessed several different things. Now there are visible lumps, one on the left and one on the right. I've done an Ultrasound which was inconclusive. I have a CT Scan scheduled, but wanted to ask if anyone has ever experienced anything like this? I have been on Morphine & Oxycodone for years relating to back and neck injuries. The meds do not help very much for the pain. It hurts so much that I take my shirt off as soon as I get home. U/A showed both White and Red blood cells. I have no infection so questions relating this have gone unanswered to date as well. I have started to worry about some sort of cancer? I am just about to loose my mi...

I stopped taking Kadian 40mg 19 days ago. I am still taking oxycodone 5mg. It has been a rough 19 days (physically). I still have GI symptoms and can barely eat. I thought the nausea and diarrhea would be subsiding by now. I'm taking the oxycodone every 3-4 hours (5mg) and thought since I was still on that it would help the w/d symptoms. My next doctor's appointment isn't for a month and I guess I'm hard headed and decided to try to do this my own way and see if I could get through it. Does anyone have any thoughts, advice on the GI upset, suggestions? I just thought I'd be past this. I wasn't on a crazy high dose of Kadian but I had been on it for 5 or 6 years. I also want to make sure this is still likely related to withdrawal. Thanks ## Yes, there is a good ch...

What I can tell you is that the average detection time in a urine screening for most people is approximately 4 days, after last dosing. Learn more Morphine details here. My husband is prescribed Vyvanse 70 mg a day but has been taking morphine over 100 mg a day. He has his yearly physical from his doctor that prescribes him Vyvanse in 3 days. He thought this "physical" was to test if Vyvanse was hurting his liver or kidneys and that it was something the government made doctors do if the prescribe controlled substances. However, after reading up on things, it sounds like doctors are doing drug tests to 1. See if you are taking anything else that is not prescribed to you and 2. If you are taking what that doctor is prescribing to you. Can anyone give their opinion on this? And, if they are testing for other drugs, will the morphine show up? I have taken Oxycodone for a couple of years prescribed by my pain manegement Dr. He recently prescribed 15mg morphine sulphate ER twice daily as well as the oxy. I took my first dose and I literally felt nothing. No added pain relief, no euphoria, nothing. When I called the Dr and told him it had no effect, he told me to take 2 15mgs at a time 2 times daily. I havent tried that yet. I would prefer to crush them and use them as a shorter acting med if that is possible. I often run short on the oxy before it is time for my next fill and would like to know if anyone has experimented with the morphine sulphate ER and found out how to take it to get the same effect. Can it be crushed or chewed? How much of that powder should be taken? It would be nice to use them to carry me when I run shor...

Are the Orange pills with 60 on one side & a box with an m on the other morphine sulfate extended release or instant? ## Hello, Leann! How are you? These tablets are manufactured by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals and they list them as being time released. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Anytime you have a pill you're not sure about, go google pill identification and you'll get a web page that asks the shape color and imprint of the pill, then it will give you exactly what it is. I had no idea u could not break the pill in half and this is my first time taking it. I broke it in half and took it. I just now read how dangerous it is. I just came off my percocet yesterday and now take this. Is it common for it to be a huge problem or not real common. Im worried of overdose. So if i took 15 mg as i broke it in half going to be a huge problem? Ive been taking percocet and methadone for years and i high a high tolerance for opiates. How long would it take if something bad were going to happen? ## Hello, Jennifer! How are you doing? Did you experience any ill effects? That is correct, it is not safe to cut or break tablets that are time released, because that could cause you to get too much of the medication, at once. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potenti...
