Is there something over the counter that works like Librax? I have GAD and have occasional morning bouts of irritabal bowel syndrome. I had a prescription for Librax and still have a few but I don't know if the doc will refill it. ## HI, Wendy! No, I'm afraid there isn't. There may be some natural herbal remedies that you could try, if you have a health food/vitamin shop nearby, they are usually pretty knowledgeable about such things and can make suggestions….of course you always need to make sure that your trying such things is okay with your doctor, before doing so. Otherwise, the best suggestion I can make is to discuss the issue with your doctor. They may refill it, it is fairly common for such issues to occur regularly and not really clear up on their own, so many...

Trying to find generic donnatel no luck I live in PA. It is the "only" med that has ever helped me with my IBS, the excerises well to who wrote it good luck.. it does not work. If someone finds the generic pls post it here Thank You !!! ## Hi Care, Based on what I've read, apparently they really did stop making the generic form of Donnatal (Belladonna Alkaloids with Phenobarbital). Some patients might get lucky finding left overs on the shelves of some of those old mom/pop type drug stores or even less popular pharmacies like Rite Aid. But I hear a different company ended up buying out the generic and now only the brand name is said to be available. Have you considered trying the brand name yet? ## When was donnatal exlir I heard from Walgreens said it was not being made any...

Medicare has not paid for Librax or it's generic since 2007. I wasn't old enough for Medicare but have to have it because I'm disabled. My doctor was shocked, as she said it had been around for years and was probably one of the $4.00 medications. I've been taking this since 1995 because I have severe IBS. I just looked it up and found that Librax is no longer on the market but the generics are still there. They are just as expensive. The only thing I found that they considered "dangerous" was that it might be habit forming; increased the risks of serious or life-threatening breathing problems, sedation or coma. If I've been taking it that long and haven't had a problem, that ridiculous. Luckily, I found the prescription to help with this. I can't find...

If Cyclopam is not available, will Paracad work for stomach pain? ## I'm looking for relief from stomach pain and Cyclopam gives me dry mouth. What is an alternative? ## Cyclopan contains Dicyclomine, it is most commonly used to treat stomach and intestinal issues, but Paracad contains Paracetamol, which is used to treat pain, and fever, so no they are not comparable. You should take the one your doctor has instructed you to take. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and stomach irritation. Arun, what is causing your stomach pain?

What is a long dark green pill that says 255 on it? ## Closest match I could find is LL 255 Green capsule shaped pill which is hyoscyamine .375 mg extended release. This pill is used for IBS, Crohn's, and incontinence. The active ingredient (hyoscyamine) is sometimes used for anesthesia or premedication for endoscopy/radiology. Not sure if it's the same as what you're asking about. If there is no LL on it, it may be a pill manufactured in another country.

dark blue capsule. rugby 3367 ## I had a time finding this one! It is Dicyclomine 10mg, or brand name Bentyl. Basically, it is an anti-diarrhea medication. Used especially for those who have Irritable bowel syndrom, some types of stomach viruses with lots of diarrhea, and stomach cramping. Side effects include drowsiness, nausea, headache, among others. ## While the identification is correct, it is really used to treat various gastrointestinal problems, not just diarrhea. It is an antispasmodic so it helps treat the cramping, issues associated with IBS, and other such problems. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and bloating. Is there anything else I can help with?

I was prescribed 20mg. Bentyl for possible IBS. After the first dose I was extremely dizzy, tired and developed a headache. The second dose that I took six hours later gave me the same reactions but it additionally made me itch and the tip of my tongue felt tingly. The next day I took half of one and again had the same reaction as if I had taken just as much as the first day. Has anyone else experienced a similar reaction especially regarding the itching and tingly tongue? I called my doctor and have stopped using it. ## Hi Julie, Sorry to hear about your situation. The symptoms you describe sound like a possible allergic reaction or hypersensitivity to either ?Bentyl (Dicyclomine) and/or the fillers that make up the pill's composition. As far as side effects are concerned, NIH.gov l...

What is a white round pill imprinted with "0115 4652"? ## I think the pill is a form of Donnatal. I found an old prescription bottle under my dresser from 1988. Pills are round, white, and blank on one side with 0115 4652 printed on the other. Looks like the medicine name on the bottle is typed as "Donnatoli.c." When I look that up, Donnatal comes up. My prescription was for cramps - Donnatal is for that (IBS relief, among other things). Hope this helps :)

What is a round blue pill with the emblem..."W" over a "90" on one side and blank on the other? ## Hi Heath, Is there any chance that you might be reading the imprint upside down? I only ask because I found a round blue pill with an imprint of "M" over "D6" on one side and blank on the other. The letter "D" is rounded off so it actually looks very similar to a "0". This particular pill is reportedly identified as Dicyclomine hydrochloride (20 mg), made by Mylan Pharmaceuticals. The tablet itself is approx. 7mm in size. You can also view an image of the pill by clicking on the following National Drug Code link: 0378-1620 I hope this helps!

I got a prescription for Librax from my Dr. and took it to Costco and they wanted 400.00 for I think 60 pills. That is scamming people. I don't have drug coverage and am a senior and I found this drug back in 1957 and its the only thing that worked to stop my IBS and now I am told that Oceanside who use to make it has closed down and its like its on a Black Market. Virtus was another name on one of my prescriptions that made Librax. What are we suppose to do when this drug actually works? I can't afford 400.00, so, guess I will just use my Imodium or the prescription one Lomotil.
