How To Get Off Suboxone (Page 10) (Top voted first)
UpdatedIm Marina Im 24 years old and a mother of 2 beautiul little boys. From the years 2006-2007 i was heavily addicted to Oxy 80 and eventually started doing herion. I got help in sep.2007 at a methadone clinic, it worked for as long as i was on the methadone i had NO relapse's. In June 2009 i was completly off of the methadone that first day that i was on 0Mgs I went through extreme withdrawls i went through things that i would never wish upon my worst enemy! i stayed that way for a day and a half and decided to go to a suboxone doctor. He put me on 32 mgs a day which i thought was pretty high of a dose but he explained to me that methadone withdrawls was worst then any other withdrawls. so i trusted him. Now when i go to see him every month i pretty much beg for him to start the weining process and start lowering me and he pretty much refuses. After months of being on 32mgs a day he finally started tapering me down slowly, i never really thought any thing of it till now but i realized he's keeping me on the suboxne for as long as posible so that he can get my $200.00 a month. all he is, is a legal drug dealer bc now im highly addicted to the suboxone. I recently had to go a few days with out my suboxone bc i didnt have the money to see him and i went through hell. i thought methadone withdrawl was bad OMG there is no comparison. i wanted to either use which i havent done in years or rip my face off lol its funny now but it definatley wasnt funny a few days ago while i was feeling that way! So i spoke to a good friend whos going through the same thing and he told me that they just came out with a new pill to get you off suboxone. I just want to know if that's true. I tryed googleing it but i cant find any thing. If you have heard of this new pill please respond or if you even have a good way to get off soboxone as painless and posible... thanx
people are saying that if u can taper down to small pieces that's the easiest way..even go every other day, every two, etc...for me, this wasnt an option. i was on it for so long and i couldnt miss a dose and still function or go to work so i stopped at about .75mg. make sure you have a good doctor that will give you what you need to get through the accute wd's..i was given klonopin for anxiety, chlonodine for aches and resltess legs, plus my bp was sky high, and trazadone for sleep. only take what you really need, you don't wanna get hooked on anything else, but don't make yourself suffer either. I recommend mentioning to your doc maybe finding a mild mood stabilizer or antidepressant as well, but that's up to him..my original doc had me on lamictal for bipolar, which im not, and all it's done is make me tired. so now im on prozac..still waiting to feel its effects, that should help with energy too. take vitamins, drink lots of water. rest when you're at your worst, but when you start to feel better, try to stay busy and exercise. it keeps your mind occupied and makes time go by faster. you have to really want to kick this, and have patience! when i kicked oxy's, it took me months to get back to "normal"..i hoped i would never have to go through it again, but such is life..i've learned my lesson!
How are you doing? Have you been able to stay off? The tapering technique for me would only take me soo far and once I got to about a 1/4 of a pill the withdrawls were constant so I decided to stop completely... It's the roughest withdrawls I could imagine and like many people I had work I had to still manage plus a family... I posted my technique earlier in the post(early2012) so please ask if you have any questions. It's now almost been a year and I can verify that it is possible to get off completely and life does return. Defiantly the 30day mark is a big difference maker.. I wish I could say its earlier but it really isn't. Even after 30 days it's still rough but it improves significantly. You have to fight it like a war and not give an inch of your progress back to the subs.. My first couple weeks I took small amounts of Kratom(find in a smoke shop). Which I think helped me get through some of the worst times... Let me know I you don't find my earlier post with my detailed method... I wish everyone well and remember that the human mind and spirit(soul) is eternal and is the most powerfuL force. It can overcome any obstacle...
Im doing better...never going back to the subs..its been about 25 days and im still really unmotivated and really tired..i yawn every 5 min..working is really hard but goos to keep me busy..just waiting to feel a sense of normality again!
Very impressive... I dont know many people that have been able to make it that long. Less than 5 % of opiate dependent individuals get off longterm and I know it's even less for those on subozone..
Definitely understand the motivation issues... Loud music in my head phones seemed to really helped.. Especially when I was feeling intense symptoms... It seemed to help the nuerotransmiters fire ..
I had been on the subs so long they were just kinda making me sick..it felt like poison..so def no desire to go back..that made it easy mentally. But i will say, because im so lethargic, its tempting to take pills again..i wont because im sick of the cycle, but i get cravings :/ music definitely helps..its always helped me :) just crossing my fingers that ill feel a little more normal by Halloween..its my fav holiday!
CAROL hi just some new info on the study the med is suppose to remove the extra receptor site called muns (not sure i spelled that right), that our brain has made during opiod abuse. i was told that is y sub 's are hard to get off of because brain won't ever make enough dopamine to fill the extra sites. after 9week abused brain will have just as may receptor sites as a "normal" brain. theres been one other study done in NH & it worked, but was done illegally so this one is officially the 1st 18 people on the east coast 18 people on the west coast.

Hello my name is Debbie. I have been on suboxon for about 2 years. The Dr. Started me off at 2 a day. I thank God I only started at 1/2 a day, and never did any higher dose. I now want 2 get off the suboxon . I googled how and it brought me 2 a medication that is herbal. It's under $100.00 a bottle, and I'm going 2 order it t-day. It's called withdrawal-ease, and the number is 1-888-732-6684. I'm praying it works. I just thought u may want 2 try it. Good luck
I did try withdrawal ease without much success. It is just all natural herbs and vitamins, may you will have more success than I did. Good luck to you.
I just want to share my experience with subs to give anyone hope in getting off of them. I have successfully weaned myself off of suboxone before with very little discomfort. (I am now on it again to get off of methadone)I am a longtime opiate/heroin addict, and my recovery has not been without relapse, like most of us. First off let me say, methadone is the DEVIL. If you are reading this and thinking of entering a meth maint program, DON'T DO IT. I tapered alllll the way down to 1mg, in pain the entire 6 mos of weening, (not to mention it makes you fat, even normally thin ppl like me) and after 2 weeks off meth I was still in withdrawal, so I got on subs again. The trick to getting off them is doing it yourself, bc the drs don't know s!%*t about it, as maaaaany posts prior have indicated. First off, no one should be taking more then 8mgs a day. There is no benefit beyond that dose and that's how it was meant to be taken. If your dr says otherwise, get a new dr. I have basically cut my own dose every day or every other day by a miniscule amount, a half a mg or so. Until you get down to a half mg or so. And then I would wait until I started feeling bad, and I would take the smallest piece you could break off. A quarter mg probably. Sometimes every other day. Until I didn't need it. Don't get me wrong, its still not fun, you have to want to do it. You will experience mild discomfort at times. But nothing like actual wd. Also it is so very important u do let it completely dissolve under your tongue so you get the maximum effect from the minimum amount. Good luck to everyone
this is so ridiculous!!! I have seriously been trying to get off sub. I been tapering down to half a mg a day. when I dont do it I have no energy and RLS is terrible and I have young kids that I totally need energy for and no family to help me so its literally impossible to go to a rehab let alone a detox center. what to do???? frustrated!!!! ugh!!!
How do u get off subsHow
Hi, I am .25mg of 1m of suboxone and want to quit can I use tramadol to help with WDs and flexaril as well?
Hi

I think tramodol would mitigate the withdrawal symptoms and help. Be careful to only use enough to reduce symptoms.. You don't want to have to go through withdrawl symptoms for tramodol afterwards. They can be very severe physically and mentally.. Try to get 4 weeks off suboxone. That is important.
I have tried that and sorry to say its a total waste of money .Try the Kratom and tramadol.Nuerontin wich is gabapentin also works well! Good luck !
Thank you Jared for all your help. I hope you will stay with me through the next few weeks as I know I will need support of others that have gone through the same thing.
One more thing I have read that you can also do this to help with wd's let me know what you think. I have been told that since I am on .025 sub that I skip a day than take more sub than skip 2 days take another piece skip 3 days take a piece then skip 4 days then jump. What are you thoughts. Thank you so much for responding to my blog and again I hope you stay with me.
God Bless you
Sincerely,
Patient 1111
