I had something similar moving from one state to another. I have bad panic attacks and due to a congenital defect in my heart i had a heart attack during my panic attack. The PA said she was more concerned with loosing her licence even though my cardiologist said to stay on the Xanex she wants to take me off. He said my chances were not as good to live through a second heart attack. I am going to switch doctors. She is only a Physician Assistant for the doctor but she actually told me her concern was not me but loosing her lic...

My friend's feet and ankles have been swollen and redish purple for about 6 months now. He is winded all the time and [years ago] has been diagnosed with an enlarged heart. he is not diabetic [we check him regularly], but his heart rate is usually over 110. ## Hello, DonnaMarie! How is he doing? Yes, those could be some symptoms of it, but they can also be symptoms of other conditions. He should consult his doctor to have the matter checked out. How is his blood pressure? Has it been high recently?

have exhausted most known brands at 83 many years b,p, now past 6yrs fitted with pacemaker for congenital heart failure, b.p. persists in spite of saltfree diet present medication will have to be changed soon can I use prexum plus...drug prendopril???I think...... ## Hello, Rosa! How are you doing? Why will your present medication need to be changed soon? Unless it's not working, there shouldn't be any reason to have to switch to something else. As to what else you can take, with your medical condition, you need to discuss that with your doctor for your own safety. On top of the salt free diet, do you also make sure to get plenty of exercise? Are you also eating low fat foods? One very common problem with low salt/no salt foods is that it removes flavor, so they often heap it wi...

I have been on multaq for over 2 years and no more afib. I would like to wean myself off by reducing the dowager 50%. Will this work? Thanks Bill ## Hi, Bill! How are you? I'd suggest not reducing the dosage, until you consult with your doctor. If you do it too rapidly, it could cause a rebound effect, which may cause you to go into dangerous a-fib worse than that which you started taking it to treat. Reductions are best done very slowly and under the guidance and supervision of your physician. Learn more Multaq details here. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been on Multac for 3 yrs now. They put me on it after an ablation and I've only had one episode since and it went back into normal rythym just as the er doc was getting ready to hook me up to an IV. I've only had a total of 4 episodes in 4 years. But my heart rate jumps to 200+ when I do. My Dr was going to take me off of it but then I had that last episode and he has kept me on it. I want to go off and would like to know what might happen if I do stop after taking it for so long. I am a 60 yr old female with no other heart problems. I have experienced fatigue, hair loss and weight gain since being on Multaq, but that might also be age related??? I really would like to see how I do without it, but I or maybe no one knows the effects if stopping after being on it for so lo...

i suffer from high blood pressure and the last couple of months my pulse became eradic, missing a beat and adding a extra beat. i als get chest pains wich increase in severity and then go away. i also have a stomach ulcer, could the pain come from the ulcer? my pulse rate is normal when i get these pains. ## Hi Robert! I can't give you an exact answer about how your heart beat would be before a heart attack. Some people feel it coming on, and others feel fine until all of a sudden they're having a heart attack. As far as your heart beating fast or hard and feeling like it's "fluttering" or skipping a beat -- I used to have the same problem and it about drove me crazy. Then my doctor put me on a beta-blocker. It was "atenolol" although there are many others. I...

These were my mothers pills wondered what they were for Heart Failure, White Oblong Pill Heart Shape on it with 2112 on the other side. ## Hi, Debrabro! How are you? The numbers are actually intended to be 2772 and this tablet contains 150mgs of Irbesartan, it's an ARB that used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions, such as congestive heart failure, so your guess was right on. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache and hypotension. Learn more Irbesartan details here. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you. Debra

My tooth ache is getting worse. I had a Diclogem tablet, still did not help. Please advise. ## Hi, Connie! Sorry about the toothache. Have you contacted your dentist? Most toothaches are caused by some type of damage or decay of the tooth and if it's a deep, very painful ache, then it's most likely infected and that's going to require an antibiotic, as well as getting the problem corrected. It isn't going to clear up on its own and trying to take a medication for the pain, without seeing your dentist isn't going to help a lot, because the pain will just keep returning. Dental infections have the potential to be very dangerous, if left untreated, because they can be directly linked to heart disease and heart valve infections, so it isn't a risk that's worth ta...

What should I do the pain is giving me hell of a pain. ## Please reffer me some medicens name which can reliff me from heart pain its not heart attack. Im using Lupkin's Katadol Caps 3.5gm. ## @neelam, Based on my research there are no interactions or contraindications listed between Lupin Katadol (Flupirtine maleate) and those with kidney stones. I can't say whether or not it's harmless, as every individual may react differently. But from what I've read, it's not likely that you'd experience any problems on that end. @Nisha, If the medication you're using isn't working...

My husband has added drugs for congestive heart failure in the last few months. He has developed a rash. the dermotolist ,after a biopsy say it is a drug interreaction. the new drug are digoxin, furosmide, xarelto, potassium cl re. He has been on lopresser.avodart, ramipril and crestor for years with no side effects. The dermotiligist also prescribed prednisone, which did stop the rash, but once he stopped using it, the rash returned. Is prolonged use of Prednisone harmful? Do you see anything in the prescriptions he takes cause the rash. ## Hi, Barb! Sorry that your husband is having such issues and I hope he is getting better. Has he consulted his cardiologist? Have a St Jude valve and had a bad reaction to Warfarin. Is it safe to use together? ## From what I've read, there have been statements from clinical trials making note of an exaggerated initial response to Warfarin, following a heart valve replacement. However I haven't come across any other specific details on the topic, so unfortunately I don't know if this is referring to side effects or the medication's overall efficacy. You mentioned that you had a bad reaction to Warfarin; but was it directly following the installment or replacement of your St. Jude valve? If so, I would recommend contacting your doctor as soon possible for more information regarding any potential side effects or interactions from Warfarin. I have no Ideal wat it is I found It can sombody tell me wat it is ## Based on the description provided, the closest match I could find is identified as Brilinta (ticagrelor) 90 mg. This pill is also imprinted with "T 90", but it happens to be yellow and not pink. Manufacturer: AstraZeneca Ticagrelor is used along with aspirin to prevent serious problems with the heart and blood vessels in people who have had a heart attack or severe chest pain. I know the color of the pill is different than you described, but I do wonder if the imprint suggests that they could be from the same manufacturer? If anyone else has thoughts on this that would be great!

Any doctors out there know what is the best treatment for this? Already have 6 stents and now I have a gap and a small blood clot by one , also have two more dissections and a kink in one of those. Getting another stent to fix the gap and blood clot. Open heart has been mentioned. ## I'm no doctor, but from what I've read, your treatment for 'spontaneous coronary artery dissection' can include several options based on an in-person evaluation: Apparently your doctor can prescribe medications to help prevent blood clots and reduce the risk of heart attack and other complications that may arise with this condition. Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is another possible option. In this procedure, also called an angioplasty, doctors insert a thin, flexible tube (cathete...

My wife experienced alarming bradycardia (heart rate <50 bpm), weakness and dyspnea after only 5 doses of Multaq. She has been a long time user of the antidepressant Nardil. International package inserts (PI) disclose inhibition by MAOI's of Multaq's metabolic clearance. Regrettably the US PI does not disclose this potential for drug interaction. I have urged both Sanofi and the US FDA to correct this omission of useful information. ## In response to your request for more information: Heart rate returned to the normal range (~75 bpm) within 5 days of discontinuing Multaq. We are in Scotch Plains NJ ## So, she's doing better now? II certainly hope she is and yes, if this is an issue then it is something that they definitely should warn about in the drug monograph. Everyone should research this drug for all the interaction it has with others. My husband was put on it, because he had an afib attack and was put in the hospital. At the time, my brother had just died, unexpectedly, and we were all very stressed. When he was admitted to the hospital, he was also found to have a strep infection. Evidently he had the infction for a long time. I told the Dr's and everyone, that I thought the attack was brought on by the infection and stress. The totally dismissed everything I said. So, we were sent to a cardiac Dr. and he did some test and put him on Multaq. Nothing was discussed about the side affect or drug interactions. I started my own research. There are 800 drug interaction with this medication. It appears that almost every one has an interaction...
