Isosorbide mn er 30ml was added about 8 days ago to my mother meds. She is 85. Two and a half days ago she started complaining of pain from her upper thigh going down toward her knees in both legs. I am wondering if Isosorbide could be the cause since this is the only thing that has changed in her routine. ## Hi Sandy, Is your mom taking any other medications that could potentially have an interaction with Isosorbide? There doesn't appear to be any related side effect information that mentions leg pain or inflammation within the lower extremities, so I'm thinking that Isosorbide could simply be interacting with another med or that this is more or less a just a rare side effect of the drug that isn't listed with the other more common side effects. In either case, it sounds li...

Dr. Prescribing this for a-fib. I have read that there is a high mortality rate for a-fib on this. Is there anything out there that doesn't cause problems. Already on lopressor but having break thru after 3 years. ## Unfortunately, all prescription drugs pose the risk of side effects. Even natural remedies do for that matter, but more so, to a much lesser extent since your body doesn't necessarily recognize them as toxins in the same way it does with synthetic pills. Also, my findings state that there are potentially unsafe interactions between Lopressor and Digoxin. Quoted below are the precautions you should be aware of: "Using metoprolol (Lopressor) together with digoxin may slow your heart rate and lead to increased side effects. Contact your doctor if you experience nau...

I am taking Cartia xt 120mg, but now the doctor added Digoxin and after a 1/2 hour I started with PVCs. Could there be interactions between these 2 drugs? ## Hello, Moni! How are you? It's possible, they both tend to increase the efficacy of each other. Are you having PVC's or just palpitations? Have you informed your doctor? Other possible side effects, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, increased urination and hypotension. ## Can you take Digoxin and Tikosyn with the herbal supplement called DGL? ## The .125 mg dosage of digoxin (5 days a week) causes breast enlargement and pain. Is it common and if so, how do you manage it?

I was told at 5months of pregnancy my babies's heart was beating too fast and I was rushed from my doctor's office to the er. I was told digoxin would bring my baby's heart back to normal and I would be discharged that same day or the next. Many tubes of blood were taken until I asked why because I was starting to feel tired and I was told several doctors were over me and wanted their own blood so I asked if they could share and I thought I fell asleep for a nap but I later woke up a day later the nurse informed and I was also hooked to many cords including a catheter. I was told that something went wrong and the medicine went to my heart and also sped my unborn's baby's heart even faster and now I am being prep for an emergency cesarean. I felt like I was on a muscle r

Small pale yellow round pill with 544 on it. Can you show me any images please? ## Hi Jill - is 544 the only marking on the pill? Any score line or other letters above that? The only thing I could find that is a relatively close match has the imprint JSP over a score line over 544. Here is an image: Is this what you have? If so then it is Digoxin 0.125 mg from Lannett for treating heart conditions. NDC code 0527-1324. Hope this helps and let me know either way!

Tiny round yellow tablet scored with a line. On each sides of line 1 side 544 other side has letters ups. ## Hello, Debbie! How is your dad doing? I believe the marking you're looking at might be JSP 544 and, if that is the case, this tablet is manufactured by Lannett and they list it as being a 125mcg Digoxin tablet, which is used to treat irregular heart beat. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and hypotension. Is this a medication your father usually takes?

What causes overdose of this medication and the symptoms? Is it detected by blood work? ## According to the National Institute of Health, digoxin toxicity (overdose) symptoms may be caused by a number of different influential factors, including: having high levels of digoxin in your body; a decreased tolerance to digoxin; low magnesium or potassium levels; problems that affect your kidney function (such as dehydration); and interactions with certain medications. You can read more about each of these various risk factors in the link below: nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000165.htm As far as detection is concerned, blood tests are reported to be a standard protocol for determining which risk factor(s) might be causing it. I hope this info helps!

I just renewed my Digoxin 125 MCG prescription. I have been getting JSP 544 and just received 981. The size of the 981 is larger than the JSP 544 in diameter and thickness. Is this just a difference in Manufacturer? ## Hello, Phil! How are you? Yes, the new one is the same medication, in the same dosage, just manufactured by Global Pharmaceuticals. This is very common with generic medications, whichever one your pharmacy has in stock can vary, depending on who was offering the cheapest price, at the time they need to restock their supply. Side effects may include nausea, loss of appetite, dizziness and blurred vision. Is there anything else I can help with?
