UpdatedWhat causes overdose of this medication and the symptoms? Is it detected by blood work?

According to the National Institute of Health, digoxin toxicity (overdose) symptoms may be caused by a number of different influential factors, including: having high levels of digoxin in your body; a decreased tolerance to digoxin; low magnesium or potassium levels; problems that affect your kidney function (such as dehydration); and interactions with certain medications.
You can read more about each of these various risk factors in the link below:
nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000165.htm
As far as detection is concerned, blood tests are reported to be a standard protocol for determining which risk factor(s) might be causing it.
I hope this info helps!
