Everyone should research this drug for all the interaction it has with others. My husband was put on it, because he had an afib attack and was put in the hospital. At the time, my brother had just died, unexpectedly, and we were all very stressed. When he was admitted to the hospital, he was also found to have a strep infection. Evidently he had the infction for a long time. I told the Dr's and everyone, that I thought the attack was brought on by the infection and stress. The totally dismissed everything I said. So, we were sent to a cardiac Dr. and he did some test and put him on Multaq. Nothing was discussed about the side affect or drug interactions. I started my own research. There are 800 drug interaction with this medication. It appears that almost every one has an interaction. Multaq, made him tired, no energy, all kind of side affects. He later had a knee replacement, and we told them about his medication. After his surgery, his potassium was super high, but they didn't get the connection. Every drug they gave him was on the drug interaction list, even the antibotics. He finally recovered from that surgery, and is doing well, except for the Multaq side affects. I have continually tried to get him to stop taking the Multaq, because of his tirdness, etc. He finally agreed, and started taking half doses, and is not taking only 1/2 tab per day. He has had no afib attacks, but is also taking verapamil ER 240. He is feeling much better, with no problems. He finally has some energy back, and plans to stop the Multaq completely. It seems that Dr's just give patients, whatever the rave is at the time. We are in the process of finding another Dr, in another town. Please do your research before believing everything a Dr.may give you. It could be your life.

I have cut back to half a capulet twice a day (morning and evening) Had one brief attack during a physically rough work day and stopped it with full dose for a day. I am less tired andhave no apparent side effects except very slight occasional kidney pain and some itching, usually immediately after I take it. Per cardiologist I keep Xaelto in pocket in case of a prolonged or severe attack but so far have not had to use it.
