Is it possible to purchase diphenhydramine, viscous lidocaine, and Maalox over the counter for my IBS? ## No, this form of Lidocaine is not available over the counter, since the FDA warns that it carries the risk of causing side effects, which may include dangerous cardiac reactions. The other two, however, are freely available. What has your doctor advised you to take to treat it? ## I took this oral suspension of Diphenhydramine, Lidocaine Viscous, Maalox, that was prescribed to my husband. I took it because I had a lot itching in my throat. I started noticing that my mouth went numb and my throat was closing. I got very anxious and my left arm was tingling. I was about to call the ambulance but right now I feel better.

I have nighttime acid reflux mostly. The ranitidine works to keep my acid lower but I get very vivid dreams. I try occasional Gaviscon but all these antacids with artificial sugars give me bad gas and are bad for you. They say tums and other antacids would taste too chalky w/o the sorbitol? Too much baking soda is bad for your kidneys... PPIs are generally bad for you. My head is elevated and I don't have any food or drinks for 3 hrs. before bed. I have been taking Casodex for a number of months. I have experienced many of the side effects indicated including tenderness in my neck and aches in my shoulders I have recently been diagnosed with acid reflux and a small duedinal ulcer through an endoscopy procedure. I have been prescribed Omeprazole 20mg by Sandoz which I have taken for two weeks. Since taking these tablets in conjunction with Casodex I now get a dry acid throat with which I have a cough. Hi Doctor I am 68 years old woman. For the past 15 years I am suffering from irritation in tongue, throat and stomach while taking hot substance like chillies, peppers etc. I have almost completely AVOIDED chillies, peppers etc for the past 5 years. What does the "LEG" mean on the prescription bottle immediately following the dosage (20 MG TAB LEG)? This was for acid reflux medication, nothing to do with legs. ## I found the answer.
