After having back and chest pain symptoms my cardiologist recommend that I take Nexpro RD 40 mg and once I started on Nexpro I got relief. After being on Nexpro RD for 14 months I ended up having to take omeprazole instead of nexpro for about the last 3-4 weeks because I ran out of nexpro and thought it would not hurt much...but seems like my back and chest pain symptoms are back with a vengence. My current doctor switched me to Dexilant 60 mg and after being on Dexilant for the last 2 weeks do not see much relief. i took four 30mg ones this morning instead of two will i be ok as i feel a little weird and i am pregnant ## Why are you taking several at the same time anyway? Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that's used to reduce the amount of acid produced by the stomach, but it's usually taken once daily, maybe twice for severe conditions, but then the doses are spaced apart. Small round pink pill with the letter P on one side. There are no other markings. ## There are a couple possible ID's for this pill, based on the description provided. Although there may be more, the one's I located are manufactured in the US. The first match is identified as Pepcid complete (calcium carbonate 800 mg + famotidine 10 mg + magnesium hydroxide 165 mg). The "P" imprint on this pill is clearly a P and not a B. The other possible match I found is the same pill except that it's a children's version with only 400mgs of calcium carbonate. I cannot locate a photo of this one though. Can you take this pill for back pain? ## Hi Tony, The pill imprint W 936 is identified as Famotidine (20 mg); which is commonly used in the treatment of peptic ulcer disease and gastroesophageal reflux disease. NOTE: You didn't mention the color or shape of the pill, but this one happens to be barrel/square shaped and is beige in color. Given the details above, I wouldn't suggest using Famotidine for any sort of pain management or relief. Depending on the cause and severity of the pain, you may want to consider taking this up with a doctor to make sure you get the right treatment, so you don't have to cope with the pain any longer than necessary. I recently lost my job and no longer have any health insurance. At the end of this month (June), I will no longer be able to afford to purchase the 40mg of Omepraxole cr that I am currently taking for acid reflux or gurd. What's the difference between this drug & Equate 20.6mg Omeprazole Magnezium? ## It is the same medication, the magnesium just refers to the specific salt that the Omeprazole is derived from, but it is available both via prescription and over the counter. I have just been prescribed Omeprazole for suspected acid reflux. As I am still breathless from previous bronchitis, can I still take Salamol (blue) and Qvar (Beclometasone Dipropionate? ## Hi Nemo, I think you'll be happy to know that Omeprazole does not have any interactions with the active ingredients found in Salamol or Qvar. Is Rabonik Plus useful in treating chronic constipation? ## Rabonik DSR contains Rabeprazole and Domperidone, while the Rabonik Plus still contains the Rabeprazole, though I haven't been able to find anything listing what else it contains. However, the Rabeprazole won't necessarily help with constipation, as it is indicated for use in treating peptic ulcer disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and excess stomach acid production. What has your doctor advised you to use?
