After being on Nexpro RD for 14 months I ended up having to take omeprazole instead of nexpro for about the last 3-4 weeks because I ran out of nexpro and thought it would not hurt much...but seems like my back and chest pain symptoms are back with a vengence. Small round pink pill with the letter P on one side. There are no other markings. ## There are a couple possible ID's for this pill, based on the description provided. Although there may be more, the one's I located are manufactured in the US. Can you take this pill for back pain? ## Hi Tony, The pill imprint W 936 is identified as Famotidine (20 mg); which is commonly used in the treatment of peptic ulcer disease and gastroesophageal reflux disease. NOTE: You didn't mention the color or shape of the pill, but this one happens to be barrel/square shaped and is beige in color. Given the details above, I wouldn't suggest using Famotidine for any sort of pain management or relief. Depending on the cause and severity of the pain, you may want to consider taking this up with a doctor to make sure you get the right treatment, so you don't have to cope with the pain any longer than necessary. I hope this helps!
