Hi Tony,
The pill imprint W 936 is identified as Famotidine (20 mg); which is commonly used in the treatment of peptic ulcer disease and gastroesophageal reflux disease.
NOTE: You didn't mention the color or shape of the pill, but this one happens to be barrel/square shaped and is beige in color.
Given the details above, I wouldn't suggest using Famotidine for any sort of pain management or relief.
Depending on the cause and severity of the pain, you may want to consider taking this up with a doctor to make sure you get the right treatment, so you don't have to cope with the pain any longer than necessary.
