Can metformin cause a charley horse in the legs? I started metformin 500mg 9 days ago and starting on the 8th day I began experiencing really bad leg cramps. ## Yes, the FDA does list muscle cramping as being a fairly common side effect of this medication, you may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, flatulence, and stomach pain. Side effects are typically transient and should go away, once your body gets used to the medication, but that may take about 4 to 5 weeks. Are you on any other medications?

Ihave been diabetic 2 for the last 10 years.I was prescribed Glipermide and Metformin. But it was suggested to stop Metformin as I had higher creatinine.Taking Insulin (Novomix 30) morning and evening plus Trajenta 5.I want to stop insulin suggest drugs ## You shouldn't stop the insulin, unless your doctor instructs you to do so. It is very important to keep your blood sugar under control, letting it get out of control can be very dangerous and possibly life-threatening, according to the AMA. Why do you want to stop the insulin? I am not sure what other medications are available for you that would be safe for you to take. Have you discussed it with your doctor?

What is the right time to take Glycomet 500 mg a generic version of Metformin? usually i take glycomet 500 SR, after meals, is it correct ## The U.S. FDA actually recommends that it be taken just before a meal, that way it has a chance to start working, by the time you are digesting your food and may experience the most blood sugar fluctuations. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, flatulence, and hypoglycemia. Is there anything else I can help with?

CAN I BUT MENTANX TABLET PM OVER THE COUNTER ## Is your drug Metanx a prescription filled dosage? I am diabetic since 1998, mostly sugar PP from 140 to 180, very few times crossed 200. Taking diamet 500 twice a day for the last 10 yrs. Regular walking. Before 5-6 yrs for slight BP, mostly 120 to 140. Being diabetic my Dr advised Losar H once in the morning and I've been taking it since last month due to heart discomfort. The cardiolagist found NO PROBLEM in my HEART at all (i am 60 yrs of age now). Still my sugar and bp level are the same. Yet, heart specialist changed diamet 500 to diamet SR twice a day and replaced Losar H with Cilakar t. I am waiting for exhaustion of stock of existing tabs to change over. No other significant or unusual trouble in me so far. An Allopathic Dr asked me to discontinue both tabs gradually and stop, because I don't have any trouble. A few tim...

I have shoulder pain and am a diabetic patient. Can I take Predmet tablets for relief of pain? This pain started after catching a chikungunya fever. ## Hi Veena, sorry to hear about your illness and pain. Predmet contains the active ingredient Methylprednisolone, which is a corticosteroid indicated for the treatment of pain and inflammation (among other things). So yes, in the short term, it will probably help with pain relief. But keep in mind that this kind of drug is not meant to be taken over a long time or stopped abruptly, as some serious side effects may develop. So I would suggest working closely with your doctor while taking this medication, and then gradually lowering your dose until you are off it. Your doc should know this and I'm sure they will have you on an appropriat...

I am a Diabetic for nearly 40 years. For the last few years, I am taking 'Reclimet" daily. What are the possible side effects? Could it trigger higher blood pressure? Thanks. ## Sir, May I know how you managed diabetes for the last 40 years? I am quite young and type II diabetic. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Btw, I use recliment. My BP is 120/90 when I checked today. But donot know if it is because of the tablet, as I dont do regular exercise. ## Thanks. By God's grace, my type II Diabetes is fairly under control, with tablets only. Being a vegetarian and reducing consumption of rice (staple food), has helped, I think. The higher BP level has been recently detected. I am not sure, however, whether Reclimet might be one of the causes for elevated BP. ## Wh...
