Sir, i've been a patient of diabetes for 3 years and use insulin three times during the day. Now i want to stop the insulin and control sugar levels through other means. Please advise. I am 27 years old. ## It is much safer, according to NIH reports, to start the other means first, such as diet and exercise, then drop the medication later, if your doctor approves. I am taking following medicines: For BP : Telma Am 40mg & Prolomet XL 50 MG - one each in the morning Telma AM 40 Mg & Prolomet XL 25 MG - one each in the night For Diabetes : Invokana 100 MG - one in the Morning with Tea & Glycomet 1GM - after Breakfast and Dinner. Sugar and BP i s reasonably under control. But I have swelling in the ankles and tightness , pain , sometimes numbness. I've been using Ramistar H 5mg for the past 7 years after CABG bypass surgery. my mother went to a doctor for frequent urin problem and was prescribed with bigmet 500mg, for two months. On net i have found that this medicine is for type 2 diabetes. but my mother do not have diabetes. Can you please help? like for what exactly is this medicine for and should she continue using it?

I took my second shot 2 days ago. After the first one I had nausea for one day, and small diarrhea. After second day of 2nd shot I am very nauseated, diarrhea, and heart burn or acid reflux. I am still taking janumet 50/1000 twice a day and glimpiride 1/2 mg once a day. He wanted me to drop the janumet after 6 weeks and start on just metformin and then drop the glimpiride if I got any low readings. So far my readings are ok, but not where I want to see them. Fasting ranges from 125-140. I'm wondering if N and D will go away once my body gets used to it? I've done a lot of research on this medication so I am aware of ALL the side effects. Switched from Invokana to Jardiance 2 months ago. I had lost 3-4 pounds on Invokana. Since taking Jardiance I have lost an additional 7 pounds; at my lowest weight in over 30 years. Love it except for all the peeing. ## Weight loss is not listed as a side effect in FDA reports, but it is never easy to say how any given medication will actually affect anyone that takes it. I was on Metformin for 25 years. Dr told me to stop using it switch to Gilpizide because I am 80 years old. Apparently it could take you out in that age group. Cold turkey, I had severe chills for a couple of days accompanied by muscle and joint pains and a headache. Day 10 was somewhat improved as far as chills go. I am hanging in there with the glipizide Dose that was doubled. But the glucose level is still high. Glucophage seems to be less likely to give me diarrhea and nausea. Are there any generic brands which have less side effects than Aurobindo Metformin? Hello, I am a 25 year old girl. Last year my doctor suggested that I take Glycomet 500 three times a day because my cycle was irregular. To all that are suffering from diarrhea from taking 2000!mg of Metformin someone posted taking Metamucil every morning to elieviate this problem and I gave a try and it worked beautifully for me It's been 3 months since I have had an issue.This may not work for everyone ,but you have nothing to lose.I tried a small container of a store brand and it had great results.One heaping teaspoon in a 8oz glass of water every morning.I really hope this works for everyone. ## Diarrhea can be a normal side effect of Metformin, according the FDA, you may also experience nausea, dizziness, flatulence, stomach pain, and hypoglycemia. Metamucil contains fiber, so it may also cause diarrhea, so while it may help some, results could be different for others. Is there anything else I can help with?

I use to take a metformin pill with apex on one side an 500 on the other then it was taken off the market.it kept my sugar way down I went from 220 to 140 with in six months and lost all my belly fat an had so much energy.
